I remember last 2005 during aliwan, The champion was pintados de passi of passi city ILOILO, the 1st runner up was the kahilwayan festival of santa barbara ILOILO and Dinagyang of ILOILO CITY. In fact all of the prizes we're taken by THE PROVINCE OF ILOILO. Try to top that.

The people of Iloilo could only be proud of what they have accomplished. The public was so disciplined. Congratulations to all who made the event possible and to the public that made it successful. Dinagyang was a wonderful experience.

I dont hve to go there just to witness ur festival when I know that we hve a bigger & better festival hre at home.I would suggest u though to visit the real QUEEN CITY for the whole month of Jan. to experience the grandest philippine festival & that's SINULOG.I would also like you to observed how big is our festival & meet diff. contngents from diff. provinces & join all the events for the whole month of JAN.Your officials should visit to watch & learn on how we celebrate this grandest festival!

shufaness, well, maybe?. but definitetly/4 sure, u haven't yet experience the dinagyang fever, kaya Putak ka ng Putak. well, 4 d info. of urs, we have 56 contingents are in "kasadyahan" alone ha! and in "fireworks" we have (16 contingents 1 lang contingent ng iloilo d2)and on sunday, we have 20 contingents including batanes tribe for "Ati2x" yan. d pa kasali "drum & bugle corps" at ang "bulilit" events and others pa.
FYI only sinulog festival has an elimination round called SINULOG SA KABATAAN SA LALAWIGAN AND DAKBAYAN the judges only choose 5 for elementary and 5 for highschool because if there are no elimination Rounds, the contingents will be as many as 80. Im not dreaming on! its the mere reality LOL!
During the Mardi Gras we have 52 CONTINGENTS from Luzon (Camarines Sur), Visayas (negros occ & orr, Bohol, Leyte, Camiguin) Mindanao ( misamis or, Sultan kudarat, shariff kabunsuan, iligan, agusan, surigao cty, surigao del sur) We also have 39 in float cattegory, 26 in Higante category and 18 in Pupeeter cattegory. Hehehe we are bigger accept it! Lol!
YOUR RIGHT derfbcd! Dinagyang only relies to their 3- 4 good contingents, without them dinagyang is so plain. Through the years dinagyang contingents are getting fewer in numbers. Compared to cebu's SINULOG with 52 CONTINGENTS and getting bigger every year. I just dont know why they always provoke arguments on whos better..

Tribu Paghidaet twice hailed as Grand Champion of the annual Dinagyang Festival literally worked their asses off to snatch the title away from last year's winner, Tribu Ilonganon. They're the most energetic among the 20 contending tribes. They twist and turn like there's no tomorrow and their musical beat does not allow them to pause or rest. It just doesn't stop. Their performance was the only tribe that received a standing ovation for almost one minute.

hi guys hehehe...im from banate and fyi ang kasag festival nga nag first runner up sa kasadyahan has the same choreographer as the ilonganon tribe...they will be joining the aliwan festival come may...please also support other ilonggo tribes that will be participating during the festival coz maski ano matabu pareho man lang ta japun nga mga ilonggo and ang daug sang isa pride man sang bilog nga iloilo...kudos to all...hala bira!!!dahyang kita!!

All Tribes did perform very well. They are all winners!
The people of Iloilo could only be proud of what they have accomplished. The public was so disciplined. Congratulations to all who made the event possible and to the public that made it successful. Dinagyang was a wonderful experience.
Thanks to survivorjc for the timely upload of this video.(Though a little late, I uploaded my amateur videos of the performances of all 20 Tribes --viewed from where I was seated in Freedom Grandstand.)

Insecure!I know galit ka coz u cant afford to buy a ticket in grandstand. Dont worry you can watch their street dancing, it has a length of 5.2 kilometers, U jst choose ur spot! Hahaha we dont after 4 TV SPONSORS,we have fundings unlike ur fstival! hahaha What we are aiming is the influx of Tourist and we achieved it with more than a MILLION TOURIST WORLDWIDE! Coz Honestly CEBUANO people also have a NEGATIVE GUTT FEELING for ILONGGOS. and FYI ILONGGOS are world-renowned for being TIKALON, FULL OF PRIDE & first class in CRAB MENTALITY. I dont know why you find us WALANG PINAGARALAN, when infact CEBU has the best SCHOOLS outside Manila. Anyways I dont have to prove to u that. who do u fool! ur info was not as accurate as it should be. FYI, schools in iloilo had their own spicific courses of specialization. SPU, iloilo and WVSU, cannot be denied in thier own specific courses, like medical courses. JBLFMU produces seamen professionals some 70% of the total philippine graduate sucess is coming from. UPV,ILOILO top all the top 10 fisheries board exam last year except 4 9th spot last year, and others pa. that's the mere facts, not a sort of tinikal.

FYI. Iloilo is the no.1 producer of nurses,seamen & other propessionals abroad because of the high standard of education in iloilo. Iloilo has 8 prestigious univ. & more than 50 exclusives colleges. Iloilo is the biggest public school division in the Phils.
Iloilo national high school is the only public high school in the Phils. w/ U.P. standard & only high school w/ special program for the arts.

USA iloilo- one of the top 5 university that produces medical tachnolgies in the philippines.

I dont hve to go there just to witness ur festival when I know that we hve a bigger & better festival hre at home.I would suggest u though to visit the real QUEEN CITY for the whole month of Jan. to experience the grandest philippine festival & that's SINULOG.I would also like you to observed how big is our festival & meet diff. contngents from diff. provinces & join all the events for the whole month of JAN.Your officials should visit to watch & learn on how we celebrate this grandest festival!

by d way, shufaness, saturday ang "kasadyahan". punta ka next year d 2 sa ilo2x, dapat during sinulog andito k n dahil at the same time of ur festival my pasiklaban na kami. and by friday a.m. dapat andito kana sa freedom grandstand 2 witness other event aside frm saturday and sunday.. siguro naman my idea kna about "dinagyang". pra wag k naman mag mukhang tanga sa mga pinagsasabi mo. palibhasa putak ka ng putak, d ka naman nnonood ng ibang festival. u r being blinded by ur own festival.

shufaness, well, maybe?. but definitetly/4 sure, u haven't yet experience the dinagyang fever, kaya Putak ka ng Putak. well, 4 d info. of urs, we have 56 contingents are in "kasadyahan" alone ha! and in "fireworks" we have (16 contingents 1 lang contingent ng iloilo d2)and on sunday, we have 20 contingents including batanes tribe for "Ati2x" yan. d pa kasali "drum & bugle corps" at ang "bulilit" events and others pa.

FYI only sinulog festival has an elimination round called SINULOG SA KABATAAN SA LALAWIGAN AND DAKBAYAN the judges only choose 5 for elementary and 5 for highschool because if there are no elimination Rounds, the contingents will be as many as 80. Im not dreaming on! its the mere reality LOL!

During the Mardi Gras we have 52 CONTINGENTS from Luzon (Camarines Sur), Visayas (negros occ & orr, Bohol, Leyte, Camiguin) Mindanao ( misamis or, Sultan kudarat, shariff kabunsuan, iligan, agusan, surigao cty, surigao del sur) We also have 39 in float cattegory, 26 in Higante category and 18 in Pupeeter cattegory. Hehehe we are bigger accept it! Lol!

YOUR RIGHT derfbcd! Dinagyang only relies to their 3- 4 good contingents, without them dinagyang is so plain. Through the years dinagyang contingents are getting fewer in numbers. Compared to cebu's SINULOG with 52 CONTINGENTS and getting bigger every year. I just dont know why they always provoke arguments on whos better..
Everyone knows who is better and bigger. thus, there is no need for arguments!

well the tribe could have the same BOLA BOLA name, but i guess the performance wud not be as good as before, as we all know the original choreographer of bola2 is with ilongganon right now...and he will still stick with ilongganon next year, ilongganon will alwys be as strong as iron same as with paghidaet and silak...for me these groups are only the big things in dinagyang...peace...

yeah sure u hav 50+ contingents in Sinulog alone....unlike Dinagyang we have 50+ contingents in Kasadyahan alone plus 20 contingents sa Ati Ati contest!poor u shufaness haven't experience seeing Dinagyang fest kaya ang alam mo lang Sinulog! fyi ive seen Sinulog na....all i can say is that sa music palang at sa choreography wla na cla sa dinagyang......i have seen Lumad Basakanon well i admit they are good but no better than Tribu Paghidaet of Dinagyang!

Tribu Paghidaet twice hailed as Grand Champion of the annual Dinagyang Festival literally worked their asses off to snatch the title away from last year's winner, Tribu Ilonganon. They're the most energetic among the 20 contending tribes. They twist and turn like there's no tomorrow and their musical beat does not allow them to pause or rest. It just doesn't stop. Their performance was the only tribe that received a standing ovation for almost one minute.

Ayos lang na hindi nag-GarandSlam ang Ilonganon para kasali pa rin sila next year para maging competitive pa ang lahat na tribe sa Dinagyang at sigurado babawi ang ilonganon.
dinagyang rules: pag-grandslam na di na pwede sumali unless kung mag-guest peformer na lang or to join kasadyahan.
