This is my favorite NES game. I knew all the passwords from the latter teams because I didn't know losing let's you level up! Never paid attention to the Japanese text after losses and as losing makes you play a previously beaten team most of the time, I just reentered the password and tried again. I must have played close to a 100 games against Japan and Argentina. The only way I could beat teams was score somehow with Tsubasa or Hyuga and then hold the ball, which made the game much less fun.

@RauM Yes , that game was really too hard for me. I had to played "dirty" (kept the ball all the time and waiting for PK) to win it. But later I just use a simple password (3 repetive characters) to pass that game :-)

Lol, look at the player's stats... they are like lvl 60 or so.

If by 'cheater' you mean Tsubasa's and Souda's stats, you're wrong - these were reached by losing *many* times on purpose against Brazil, then winning against Germany, then losing again and so on. Tsubasa is on level 43, Souda on 37 and all other players' levels are similar. I can even give you a password if you want.

If you mean playing on an emulator... well, that's the easiest way to record a video from a NES game after all.
