And that's why they call it Final Fantasy Bravo seriously tear inducing I get chills thinking of all the heroes and their adventures who rode to this theme song!
this version is so errily fascinating that i really cant find the words to describe how amazing this truly is.... this version has so much emtion behind it, i men dont get me wrong, the music itself is amazing but with the ACV (Advent Children Voices) this is a score i'm more than willing to drop everything for and let the wind blow through my shirt with... you know, before meteor hits and Sephiroth does his happy dance on top of a sky scraper in New York... that kinda thing
Quick rundown: The arpeggio (a crude form of it) was in FF 1, 2 and 3. FF4, 5 and 6 had the full song but only 7 had the same harmonies that are featured in this performance. You can hear in the SNES games that there is the basic melody and string accompaniment but FF7 was the most evolved form of the Prelude - that's why this is listed as the FFVII Prelude. Subsequent Preludes (8 and on) haven't even sounded anything like this. I really like the addition of the choir. Awesome.
Yes of course this is the Final Fantasy VII prelude because there are no other Final Fantasy games other than VII. The other games couldn't have possibly had a prelude theme because they don't exist. Seriously, Final Fantasy III, IV, VI, and X, all of them are great games. It's just too bad they don't exist.
The orchestrations of the Prelude vary HUGELY from game to game. In my opinion, the FFVII version of the Prelude is the pinnacle of its greatness - it hasn't emerged in a complete form since that game.
Beautiful. Though I realize this was in a number of FF games, it makes me think of the depth and beauty of the experience that is playing FFVII. As the credits roll on the opening screen, this wonderful opening track only hints at the experience to come. Thanks very much for posting this. Its my hope that more people become acquainted with the amazing experience that is FFVII, and that the game be released once again so that people can do so.
it was final fantasy 8 i think ,up a mountain,i always want chocbos lol one the best games a guy coyuld of bought for a playstation adventure style.its beautiful to see were the music came from nice post
People, this is the FF prelude to like every FF game, they just added the choir to be cool(which it is) the song isn't limited to just FFVII(And this is coming from a FFVII Fanboy too)
imagine this kind of quality music greeting you in a pS3 final fantasy VII remake...its the stuff dreams are made of..widescreen tv...surround sound and the best RPG ever...
In that case, since it's been around since the beginning, why not just call it the "Final Fantasy Prelude" and just say it changes every once in awhile
I know but i meant the style of this particular prelude sounds exactly like the one in ffxi. FFVII's one is the same but the tune and theme is different from this live concert.
It just seems the idiot who gave me a thumbs down didn't know what i was talking about(i hope it isn't you).
No this is FF7's prelude. The original was composed for Final Fantasy 1, and it was simply the arpeggio progression if I remember correctly. The melody you hear the choir singing here was added in 7.
I'm no ff7 fanboy, infact I enjoyed 6 equally as much as 7, I've played them all. I don't recall ever hearing the melody in 6, although it has been a long time since I've played it. It's possible the melody was added in the re-release, since you mention the opening movie - there was no opening movie in the original. The only thing I remember is the arpeggio on the title screen, no melody.
bloody hell...beautiful! really blew me away! does anyone know if there are any ff7 concerts in england at any time? if so where can i buy tickets? amazing!
I <3 this beautiful song, so much! O'-'O It's very pretty and so nicely synchronized with opera, it almost makes me wanna cry. ^-^ Seriously though, I love this song.
There are different variations of the FInal Fantasy Prelude, but this one sounds like the FF7 version, using the voices in place of instruments. But ya, w/e.
the best prelude was the one in FF4 the rest were either too slow or had the new ending part to it (the females sing it i believe, i hate that part i wish nobuo left it the same as in ff4)

Agreed! And this version is clearly the FFVII version, as it has those complex harmonies.

Uh this is the ffxi prelude, NOT ffvii. Watch the opening movie of ffxi then you will see.

It's in several games, I believe it first appeared in FFVII though.

Um no it wasn't, the melody already existed in ff6.
Only hardcore ffvii fanboys label every piece of ff music "ff7".

chill chill im not saying you are an ff7 fanboy though it looked like i have.
Just search the ff6 prelude on youtube, there's the melody.
isurugi 3 years ago
actually i think the first ff game in 8 bit nintendo NES already used this melody
