All the crap people gave me when I bought my 470s because Fermi used so much power and was so hot...yet nobody remembers that the 2900XT ate just as much power as my GTX 270 and couldn't even compete with the high end.

Nvidia promised to deliver a fix. But like everything else that Nvidia ever promised to fix, that never happened.

ATI said that they'll try to fix it, but really can't, cause the issue lies within how Direct3D delivers data.

It's kind of ironic though that this issue only becomes noticeable when you dip down to about 40fps, into regions where multi-gpu is useful at all. You don't have any problems if your system cranks out way more than enough fps...

Average framerates of multi-GPU configs can't be compared to single-GPU framerates because of micro stuttering. A GTX 295 is only about 10% faster than a 5870 anyway and that's more than offset by all the problems multi-GPU has.

4870x2, 4890, GTX280 and GTX295 are all great cards! I'm happy with my ATI 4850 =)

But considering upgrading in autumn. To Phenom X2 955 or the new Corei5 platform! and the new series of graphic cards.. Im buying whats best for my money, thats it! ;)
