hey mate.I've installed recently CyanogenMod 7.1 on my Galaxy S2, but just couldn't get the tethering working !!... i've tried the built in tether, wifi tethering, CWM tether !! .... nothing works. on my laptop though I could detect and connect to my hotspot phone, but it seems that a kind of firewall is blocking the tetherig... and i get a page on my phone browser saying that i'm trying to use tethering but it's not allowed!!! .... what's wrong ? any advice ?

im having the same picture message problem with this. this error is the only flaw in cyanogenmod ive found so far:{ i wiped the phone from clockwork, made a backup of stock android and of cyanogen stock android i rebooted the phone but no luck still. should i try pulling the battery?
@2blazed2 Hmm...I'd try a fresh installation, and test everything before installing any non-Google apps...perhaps you have a conflicting app on your phone...did you have issues with the Stock ROM?
@minus5252 problem solved. i really feel like a noob now. after i reverted to stock once again... i hit the activate button and let the phone reactivate an reboot. restored my nandroid and bam... 3g. i also modified some build.prop files but i dont think they helped. sorry for wasting your time. sent from my motorola triumph
I have a question.. My youtube is acting weird because the video keeps twitching but when i switch to landscape mode it works fine. IDK but it bugs me. I did uninstalled it and reinstalled it and it was still the same.. idk if you can help me.
@peter828 Have you tried it out without having installed any additional apps? Have you pulled your battery? If nothing helped, head over to motorolatriumphhacks (dot) com and post this in the forums.
I flashed this ROM yesterday and noticed the only issue with it when it goes into sleep for extended periods of time, it won't come out of sleep. Like when I charge it while I sleep, or I'm at at school, The power button doesn't turn it on and I have to take the battery out put it back in and it works fine. Is this an issue anyone else has had?

@micryamit7045 You cannot, BUT, you can easily revert to stock. Go to my channel and search for "stock" to find a video guide to reverting to stock. Activate the phone, then go back to CM7 (or try out CM7-Reloaded, which you can also find in my channel).

Okay, i flashed cm7 and everything works great... except 3g. In areas where i used to get full signal, after flashing cm7 i never get more than 2 bars. Even when i have 2 bars, whenever i try to use the mobile internet, after 5 seconds it says the webpage isn't available like it would if i have no service, it just acts like it loading it for a seconds first. wifi, calling and text work fine, and i can use the web browser on wifi. Any ideas? *reflashing and flashing ics rc1 rom made no difference
@bobble102 Are you sure you are using this version? What you are describing was a major problem in the ALPHA releases, but has been gone from the BETA releases...did you install from this video, or just come here to look for help?
@minus5252 i was using the beta 8. i flashed the stock rom and still the same problem. i'm almost certain this is an apn issue, since the mms isn't working. i looked vm apns and none of them matched mine. i bought the phone off ebay and i think this one is outdated, since the apn is virginmobileusa instead of sprint. but every time i try to change the mcc (or whatever its called) from 052 to 00 like all the apns i saw had, the entire apn disappears and i have to restore defaults.
@bobble102 Hmm...first off, you ought to ask over in the forums at our website, motorolatriumphhacks (dot) com...that being said, you might return to stock and check for updates, and do a factory reset from the settings menu on the stock rom. Go to my channel and search for "stock" if you need a guide. Then return to CM7 and before installing nay non Google apps, test the functionality. Just an idea, no idea if it will work...
@minus5252 no worries... i managed to get a replacement, my dad knows nothing about android and neither did the guys at radio shack, and they couldn't activate the phone since it was on cm7. but my new one wont connect to 3g. I've had it for about 4 day and only get 1x, no 3g, not even the icon. do i have to give it some time or something. Sorry for being kind of a nag. I have ran stock froyo (rooted) and cm7 ics themed but only 1x.
@minus5252 I've had full bars, on both roms, even though the bars are a little jumpy and unreliable and still 1x. I barely get any service at my house but iv'e gone to the middle of my town where I usually get full service but still nothing. My service bars are weird though, sometimes ill have 2 bars of service then it will jump to no bars then back up to 3 or 4. ?? *Edit* I have tried toggling mobile data and airplane mode, and the power control widget always says 2g and wont switch to 3g
@minus5252 You need to do some kind of speed test, then immediately revert back to the ROM you were using before, and compare the results...the difference in bars could be purely asetic, and the 1x switches could be normal...there a just a ton of variables here, so just do what I just mentioned and see what the results are, then we'll work forward.
@minus5252 each usually got about 100kb download and 30 to 130 kb upload with 10 second ping. sometimes it was as low as 30kb download. The market usually times out its so slow and download usually doont download because of some error
@bobble102 I never caught if this was the same on your stock ROM or not...IF you don't know, revert and perform a speed test, then update back to CM7 and IMMEDIATELY perform another speed test.
Hey man, I love this it works perfect! BUT, I have a real problem... When I try to send a picture, it won't send! AND when someone sends me a picture, I get it, I go to click download, and it doesn't download! Any fix, I tried pulling the battery, no luck :/ Please reply! Thanks
Hey so i upgraded my sd to a 8gb from amazon for like 5 bucks, i just did the upgrade to this and its perfect it every way possible. Thanks again and now i'm debating as to whether or not i keep this update or try the ice cream sandwich version.
@Tigerkem Awesome, glad you're happy with it. I wouldn't do the ICS ROM, as it isn't really ICS, just heavily themed CM7...but I WOULD recommend the CM& reloaded ROM, which you can find on my channel.
the cm7 works great. have not had any problems with it except 2. the front camera does not work and mms wont send but it will recieve fine. other than that a good os.

@theretardman101 MMS and FFC should work fine...as for fixing MMS, try pulling your battery for about a minute and test again. Did you do a full wipe? If you are coming from an older CM7 release, that could be why the camera isn't working...are you trying the camera in the "camera" app, or some other app?

@mecene09 Download the GAPPS file from the video description above. Copy the .zip file to your sd card in your Triumph and flash it the same way you did the ROM (No need to wipe though). That will give access to the market and other Google apps. Thanks for watching and don't forget to subscribe!
@LaoBoyLao123 you have to download it from your laptop or your computer if the website don't work copy the whole name and put it on GOOGLE and you will find one that say MEDIAFIRE etc... so download that one.
BTW i like the vids that you do. My first question is, should i try to put both files(gapps, and CM7) on my phone through the usb connection before i attempt whats in the video first? My second question is that I did what i asked in 1st question, but it seems to not have not have enough space on my 2gb sd card to download the CM7, so my sd card only has the gapps file but it doesn't show in the clock word mod files on my phone. Pls help if you can.
@Tigerkem !) Yes, put all files on SD card at the same time.
2) Gapps should be left as a .zip file, not extracted. If it is a zip file, it will be visible to ClockworkMod Recovery
To clear space, just temporarily copy some stuff off of your card onto your computer so yopu can install. You can delete the GAPPS and CM7 file after the install is complete.
@minus5252, I want to say is first thanks for responding and the information you gave me was very helpful. I attempted to delete everything and tried to put everything on sd card but i was still short of space 2.42 mb. I opted to buy a 8gb sd card for the phone online and i will reattempt this weekend. My WiFi hotspot isnt working anymore, when i try to enable it. its says Turning on, then error, then it says its active but there isn;t a green checkmark on the status of it. And other devices arent detecting it.
@Roger5970 Hmm...Try pulling the battery for about a minute. Also, try disabling and reenabling WiFi. If that doesn't work, did you do a wipe before installing? Are you overclocked?

Ok I figured it. I had a different lock I downloaded from the market called ripple lock. Once I took it off it worked properly. Thanks for all your time and help, I subscribed, liked, and added your video to my favorites.
But when did the reset my phone restarted right after it was done with out going back to reboot and had to shut the phone off to go back to recovery to then flash the cm7 gapps. Do you think that's where it went wrong cause I notice that when you did it to your phone it didn't reboot after the wipe
@Seis51 That could be the problem, as I believe that system files are written on the first boot after a wipe...try wiping again, as it shouldn't reboot right after. Before doing that, try pulling your battery out for 30 seconds to a minute and see if that helps. If not, do the wipe and reinstall again.
Ok so now it doesn't come off sleep at all but I discovered that by plugging in the charger the screen turns back on but it very annoying to have to do that every single time I want to unlock my screen.
ok so i installed the latest version of the clockwork mod, now i put the zip file of the latest cyanogenmod onto my sd card along with the GAPP file??? and also the factory reset wont that already be on the phone anyways??? and if i want to restore to the ORIGINAL stock if i choose to go back how do i do that exactly??? im a novice and i want to get everything right! lol

Is anybody having problems with the sleep mode? My Triumph won't come off sleep sometimes and the only way i get it to work again is by pulling out the battery. Is their anyway to fix this?
ok now im confused. i extracted the cm7b8 into my sd card and 3 files came up. meta-inf system and boot.img so after those copied to my sd i put the sd in the phone and opened up cwm and reset the data, and went to install update from sd and the file u said to install wasnt there. HELP ME!!! do i need to install gapps to? also do i extract all the file from gapps to the sd card?
@909apena I have no issue with ringtones...are you saying the built in tones won't work, or your own? They go in the media directory on your SD card, in a subfolder called ringtones or something, should be pretty easy to find. @katalyst96 No, but the phone came with an SD card. If you don't have one, you can probably get a used small one from a cell phone dealer, as the 512 MB cards are pretty much worthless, but came with a lot of older phones so they may have some lying around.

@bobble102 Hmm...first off, you ought to ask over in the forums at our website, motorolatriumphhacks (dot) com...that being said, you might return to stock and check for updates, and do a factory reset from the settings menu on the stock rom. Go to my channel and search for "stock" if you need a guide. Then return to CM7 and before installing nay non Google apps, test the functionality. Just an idea, no idea if it will work...

@minus5252 no worries... i managed to get a replacement, my dad knows nothing about android and neither did the guys at radio shack, and they couldn't activate the phone since it was on cm7. but my new one wont connect to 3g. I've had it for about 4 day and only get 1x, no 3g, not even the icon. do i have to give it some time or something. Sorry for being kind of a nag. I have ran stock froyo (rooted) and cm7 ics themed but only 1x.

@minus5252 I've had full bars, on both roms, even though the bars are a little jumpy and unreliable and still 1x. I barely get any service at my house but iv'e gone to the middle of my town where I usually get full service but still nothing. My service bars are weird though, sometimes ill have 2 bars of service then it will jump to no bars then back up to 3 or 4. ?? *Edit* I have tried toggling mobile data and airplane mode, and the power control widget always says 2g and wont switch to 3g

@minus5252 You need to do some kind of speed test, then immediately revert back to the ROM you were using before, and compare the results...the difference in bars could be purely asetic, and the 1x switches could be normal...there a just a ton of variables here, so just do what I just mentioned and see what the results are, then we'll work forward.

@minus5252 each usually got about 100kb download and 30 to 130 kb upload with 10 second ping. sometimes it was as low as 30kb download. The market usually times out its so slow and download usually doont download because of some error

Hey man, I love this it works perfect! BUT, I have a real problem... When I try to send a picture, it won't send! AND when someone sends me a picture, I get it, I go to click download, and it doesn't download! Any fix, I tried pulling the battery, no luck :/ Please reply! Thanks

Hey so i upgraded my sd to a 8gb from amazon for like 5 bucks, i just did the upgrade to this and its perfect it every way possible. Thanks again and now i'm debating as to whether or not i keep this update or try the ice cream sandwich version.

@Tigerkem Awesome, glad you're happy with it. I wouldn't do the ICS ROM, as it isn't really ICS, just heavily themed CM7...but I WOULD recommend the CM& reloaded ROM, which you can find on my channel.

the cm7 works great. have not had any problems with it except 2. the front camera does not work and mms wont send but it will recieve fine. other than that a good os.

@theretardman101 MMS and FFC should work fine...as for fixing MMS, try pulling your battery for about a minute and test again. Did you do a full wipe? If you are coming from an older CM7 release, that could be why the camera isn't working...are you trying the camera in the "camera" app, or some other app?

BTW i like the vids that you do. My first question is, should i try to put both files(gapps, and CM7) on my phone through the usb connection before i attempt whats in the video first? My second question is that I did what i asked in 1st question, but it seems to not have not have enough space on my 2gb sd card to download the CM7, so my sd card only has the gapps file but it doesn't show in the clock word mod files on my phone. Pls help if you can.

@Tigerkem !) Yes, put all files on SD card at the same time.
2) Gapps should be left as a .zip file, not extracted. If it is a zip file, it will be visible to ClockworkMod Recovery
To clear space, just temporarily copy some stuff off of your card onto your computer so yopu can install. You can delete the GAPPS and CM7 file after the install is complete.

I attempted to delete everything and tried to put everything on sd card but i was still short of space 2.42 mb. I opted to buy a 8gb sd card for the phone online and i will reattempt this weekend. My WiFi hotspot isnt working anymore, when i try to enable it. its says Turning on, then error, then it says its active but there isn;t a green checkmark on the status of it. And other devices arent detecting it.

@Roger5970 Hmm...Try pulling the battery for about a minute. Also, try disabling and reenabling WiFi. If that doesn't work, did you do a wipe before installing? Are you overclocked?

But when did the reset my phone restarted right after it was done with out going back to reboot and had to shut the phone off to go back to recovery to then flash the cm7 gapps. Do you think that's where it went wrong cause I notice that when you did it to your phone it didn't reboot after the wipe

@Seis51 That could be the problem, as I believe that system files are written on the first boot after a wipe...try wiping again, as it shouldn't reboot right after. Before doing that, try pulling your battery out for 30 seconds to a minute and see if that helps. If not, do the wipe and reinstall again.

Ok so now it doesn't come off sleep at all but I discovered that by plugging in the charger the screen turns back on but it very annoying to have to do that every single time I want to unlock my screen.

ok so i installed the latest version of the clockwork mod, now i put the zip file of the latest cyanogenmod onto my sd card along with the GAPP file??? and also the factory reset wont that already be on the phone anyways??? and if i want to restore to the ORIGINAL stock if i choose to go back how do i do that exactly??? im a novice and i want to get everything right! lol

@flamethrower623 You perform the data wipe from clockworkmod (CWM) recovery, then you flash the CyanogenMod 7 ROM onto your phone from CWM, then flash the GAPPS file. ok now im confused. i extracted the cm7b8 into my sd card and 3 files came up. meta-inf system and boot.img so after those copied to my sd i put the sd in the phone and opened up cwm and reset the data, and went to install update from sd and the file u said to install wasnt there. HELP ME!!! do i need to install gapps to? also do i extract all the file from gapps to the sd card?

@909apena I have no issue with ringtones...are you saying the built in tones won't work, or your own? They go in the media directory on your SD card, in a subfolder called ringtones or something, should be pretty easy to find. Also, I believe a restart might be required for the new ringtones to be displayed in the sound settings. Thanks for watching and don't forget to subscribe.

@katalyst96 No, but the phone came with an SD card. If you don't have one, you can probably get a used small one from a cell phone dealer, as the 512 MB cards are pretty much worthless, but came with a lot of older phones so they may have some lying around.
