i could actually see buggy as a prtty powerful and badass character if he learned to use tactics with his power buggys battles would be pretty damn interesting especially since he could always hide his finger or something and use it as a sneak attack lol they'd be kinda of like ussops fights.
It's amazing how similar Luffy and Buggy's powers are. Buggy is unaffected by blades, and Luffy is barely affected by blunt instruments, and they can both displace parts of their bodies further than a normal human in a simlilar fashion. However, because of the way they see the world, Luffy became insanely powerful, while Buggy was left as the comic relief. It's a waste of a potentially great power, I hope Buggy learns to use it properly later on

This scene was for pure humor. To say Mihawk doesn't have haki is ridiculous. Even if he didn't have it he could just hit Buggy with the broad side of his sword or just plain hit him. He has more raw strength than even Luffy probably since he can block strikes from people like Vista, Jimbei, and Shanks.

No. Cutting will never work on Buggy. Even with Haki. Add haki to the cut will allow Mihawk to bypass Buggy's devil fruit...for a moment. After that moment Buggy's fruit will reactivate and he can then just proceed to put himself back to normal.
No it wouldn't. Haki doesn't have a lasting effect. It only works momentarily. So while utilizing haki would allow Mihawk to truly cut Buggy it would not prevent Buggy from simply putting himself back together afterward. Thus no amount of cutting, even when Haki is involved, will EVER harm Buggy. He is the bane of all swordsmen.

@Glympse2k7 thats not the case all of the time. if he can see it he can split apart manually, but if he cant see the attack then his body still does it for him. if he cannot see an attack imbued with haki, (or if he isnt prepared, or both) meaning its quicker than his sight allows him to see, than he'd pretty much be screwed.
@ZanderTHV thats the rules for logia users you are talking about i.e attacks imbued with haki, unprepared for hits etc. Keep in mind buggy is not logia but paramecia.

Yes Mihawk can suppress Buggy's fruit with haki and during that time damage Buggy with his sword. But Mihawk can't prevent Buggy from putting himself back together AFTER Buggy's fruit is no longer suppressed. Thus Mihawk can never defeat Buggy because no matter how many times he uses haki to cut him Buggy can (and will) simply put himself back together during the moments where Mihawk isn't using haki.

His *human* body will be damaged, via the bypassing of the entity of his devil fruit, which allows him to seperate. It might be possible in theory (As this is a fantasy anime, and whatever the creator decides, goes) that someone at Mihawk's level would creat such a perfect cut, that no damage will be dealt to the body itself and thus allow Buggy to reattach without wound, but even then, the next hit Mihawk could create a more of a shredding cut then slice.

@rap1re Nothing so far to suggest he has Haki. All his attacks have pretty much just been stronger versions of Zoro's attacks. His big energy slice? 108 Calibur Pheonix. Slicing up entire ships? Perfectly replicated by Zoro after the time skip. Hes just strong, ok? No superpowers like everyone else, like Zoro, hes just STRONG.

@nsm54 I thought that at first too, but what about when Akainu punched through ace? Ace still got hurt, even though the punch went through him. The difference is haki. I thought, "how did it hurt him, it's just a hole". That is why I think if Mi Hawk used haki to cut Buggy, Buggy will get hurt even though the sword went through him. It's all kind of confusing, there are a lot of factors to consider. I wish there was a better explanation of how haki works.

There's actually a very subtle joke that I never noticed before! When Luffy mishears Buggy and Buggy shouts at him "How deluded is your hearing!?!?"
In the series, whenever Buggy shows up he ALWAYS mishears someone and thinks that they are talking about his nose.

No. Cutting will never work on Buggy. Even with Haki. Add haki to the cut will allow Mihawk to bypass Buggy's devil fruit...for a moment. After that moment Buggy's fruit will reactivate and he can then just proceed to put himself back to normal.

No it wouldn't. Haki doesn't have a lasting effect. It only works momentarily. So while utilizing haki would allow Mihawk to truly cut Buggy it would not prevent Buggy from simply putting himself back together afterward. Thus no amount of cutting, even when Haki is involved, will EVER harm Buggy. He is the bane of all swordsmen.

@ZanderTHV nah you don't get it, if there was a body to cut then yes what your saying is true but in buggy's case his body splits before being cut therefore he dodges the attack completely.

@Glympse2k7 thats not the case all of the time. if he can see it he can split apart manually, but if he cant see the attack then his body still does it for him. if he cannot see an attack imbued with haki, (or if he isnt prepared, or both) meaning its quicker than his sight allows him to see, than he'd pretty much be screwed.

@ZanderTHV thats the rules for logia users you are talking about i.e attacks imbued with haki, unprepared for hits etc. Keep in mind buggy is not logia but paramecia.

@gst800 haki supresses the devil fruit, dude. its the only way to hit logias, yes, but its also a way to supress whatever fruit in questions ability so that you may hit their physical body anyway. like take for example alvida. if you use haki, the attack will connect instead of slipping off.
also, remember magellan? haki couldve supressed his poisonous df

@ZanderTHV magellan can not only produce poison but completely turn into poison 'element' i.e become non-solid. Thats logia-only feat as stated by kizaru earlier in story so i don't understand why magellan was called paramecia in the first place, well maybe a mistake of oda or something, but that doesnt seem logical to me.
What about supressing devil fruit, look at whitebeard vs akainu, even tho wb attacked with haki and hurt akainu alot- he still was in magma form

@gst800 Uhm, NO, magellan is NOT a logia. He is a powerful paramecia. If he was logia, luffy's wax armor supplied by mr 3, another paramecia, wouldve passed through him and wouldnt have connected every time he punched or kicked.
Thats what i said. Busoshoku can bypass the fluid bodies of logia users, but it can also supress the other types of devil fruits, like the example i gave earlier, Alvida.

@ZanderTHV so what im trying to say is, a df fruit attacked with haki can still maintain his df form if he has the fruit which transforms shape of user or turns him into some element. Which basicly means, buggy will still be able to turn into pieces at will, but if a guy will hit those pieces,buggy will be hurt yes, because 'auto-turning-to-pieces' feature of buggy will be 'supressed'.There are fruits in one piece which are too op..kuma for example.haki wont supress 'repel everything'

Yes Mihawk can suppress Buggy's fruit with haki and during that time damage Buggy with his sword. But Mihawk can't prevent Buggy from putting himself back together AFTER Buggy's fruit is no longer suppressed. Thus Mihawk can never defeat Buggy because no matter how many times he uses haki to cut him Buggy can (and will) simply put himself back together during the moments where Mihawk isn't using haki.

@Trollandsknecht Buggy would actually be cut if a swordsman, let alone Mihawk, sliced him with haki. His *human* body will be damaged, via the bypassing of the entity of his devil fruit, which allows him to seperate. My point is, if you cut him with haki, he wont be able to split apart, and his actual human body will be cut. there isnt much you can do in that situation

@Trollandsknecht Buggy can't simply close a wound on himself. Sure he might be able to put his body back together, but a wound is a wound. It might be possible in theory (As this is a fantasy anime, and whatever the creator decides, goes) that someone at Mihawk's level would creat such a perfect cut, that no damage will be dealt to the body itself and thus allow Buggy to reattach without wound, but even then, the next hit Mihawk could create a more of a shredding cut then slice.

@rap1re Nothing so far to suggest he has Haki. All his attacks have pretty much just been stronger versions of Zoro's attacks. His big energy slice? 108 Calibur Pheonix. Slicing up entire ships? Perfectly replicated by Zoro after the time skip. Hes just strong, ok? No superpowers like everyone else, like Zoro, hes just STRONG.

@rap1re dont think haki would make a difference to buggy's ability, because, mihawk will still do the same action which is cutting, for buggy to be killed by a sword, his devil fruit ability would have to be nulified and haki doesnt do tht

@nsm54 I thought that at first too, but what about when Akainu punched through ace? Ace still got hurt, even though the punch went through him. The difference is haki. I thought, "how did it hurt him, it's just a hole". That is why I think if Mi Hawk used haki to cut Buggy, Buggy will get hurt even though the sword went through him. It's all kind of confusing, there are a lot of factors to consider. I wish there was a better explanation of how haki works.

@SergeantPepper99 In Impel Down, Buggy can't be cut vertically either. Although I think he has a limit. It's not shown anywhere in the series, but maybe if Buggy is tired enough, he can't split.
