  • OMFG! I bought this 45 used sometime in the 80's! Whoever owned it before me obviously loved it and played it to death!

I didn't care! I had to have it! It sounded like bacon was frying in the background!

Beats NOT hearing the song at all! Did the footage originally accompany the song?

    Whatever it is, IT'S GREAT!!!

    Thanks for posting!!!

  • Put that thing on MY head!

  • One of my favourites ever!

  • lol, i like this

Oh No, Its A Bleeding Box :)

  • CSI San Francisco, maybe?

  • One of the best Who songs ever

  • Yes this was a much under-appreciated song with a killer bass solo by John. I think the group hated the song much like the Stones hated Dandelion (another great song) and thus it was excluded from live performances and later from anthology collections. Too bad.

  • This is better than Benny Hill, and believe me that's saying a lot!!!

"I'm gonna show you why they call me lightning". The best Who song I still ain't got on CD (remember those?).

  • I think this was shot in Alameda or LA! wow!

  • I recall that The Who were seriously considering filming a pilot for TV. The "show" that never became, was suppose to be an english band version of The Monkees. And I believe this film was shot during this time.

It would have been neat to see what the show would have looked like. But I am glad it never got made, because who knows what that would have done for The Who's career. Maybe we would have missed out on the best music of all time from the best band of all time.

  • I don't understand why this song isn't more popular than it is. It's almost as good as My Generation IMO.

  • Yep. Beatles invented lots of stuff. Like lyric sheets in the album.

  • Bob Dylan's Subterranean Homesick Blues was an early vid as well.

  • Best music video ever made

  • This is one of my favorite Who songs, love LOVE that bass solo!

  • This shows that Queen where not the first to make a music video. Dont know why so many people think that.

  • This song rocks! Makes a change to Cobwebs and Strange! "Shes good lookin and i aint frightened" thats it i'm asking my girlfriends mother out!!!!

  • i love this song its the best i love the why it sounds cause its a mix of all there fav styles of music it just sounds awsome and i love the bass solo . also i'm like the biggest who fan ever they rock more then anyone

  • This song is sort of like Zepplin meets the Beach Boys! I'm a BIG Who fan.

  • COBWEBS & STRANGE the song this footage appears with in the "KIDS ARE ALRIGHT"film is a better fit...WHY YOU SAY??...BECAUSE it was written by the man himself MR.KEITH MOON...by far the most KILLER DRUMING you'll find in any early WHO effort!!Even so "CALL ME LIGHTING" IS 1 OF MY ALL TIME FAVS!! Cheers!!

  • LOL. I love TKAA.

  • Whadya sayin BassSteve - if someone ever ( no it dint happen-dey always put on the Stones) put this song on at a party I'd been on the ceiling. The song ROCKS THE RAFTERS. Maximum R&B. That's The Who!

  • It's nice with this in the background, rather then the other song.

  • I've always brought this song up to Who fans and no-one's ever heard of it... at least now I know I wasn't trippin...

  • Hey! Thanks so much for putting this up. Love it.

  • I absolutely LURVE that song!!! :-)

  • I want Keith in a box!

  • yey!
