  • thank you john mayer for being the best musician ever:)

  • Youngest and purest version of the song.

  • @adamsimonsmusic type in field trip john mayer in the youtube search bar and click on the video that is from mayermusic. that is the "ultimate" demo version

  • I am in love.

  • favorite musician, great song favorite on Battle Studies.

  • I love this song. I hope he sings more songs like these. He's great.

  • Solo...electric? cool.

  • AMAZING. So relatable.

  • Even though Im a huge John Mayer fan, and especially fan of his guitar playing, one must admit that the guitar in the verse part is somewhat similar to So Damn Lucky by DMB.. Not saying that the parts are completly similiar, but its the same quite unique chords (the exact same) and almost same tempo (tempo, not strum speed/pattern, which clearly is different)..

Melody is different tho, so I dont really, really see the problem.. Great songs both of them

  • the chords are not unique at all... tons of songs use those chords. and the strumming is very similar... what people aren't acknowledging is the fact that this is the solo version... a lot of guitar parts are similar. the song itself on the album does not sound like so damn lucky. as someone who writes music, it would be silly to suggest that hes copying dave matthews here.

  • FORWARD THIS: music isnt meant to be analyzed or judged. take it for what it is. its meant to be felt and and thats it. it can inspire u and me as john mayer has been inspierd by his influenced. dont compare. 1 is 1 and 2 is 2. john mayer is john mayer.

  • EXACTLY

You can't listen to a song and claim it's good due to the skills of the musician. It's either good or bad depending on how your body feels, and your mind recieves the melody and instruments, lyrics and idea of the song.

You can compliment musicians, and admit that they are technically good, but that is not the same as loving what you hear :) I'm generally impressed by alot of musicians, but somehow my body dosen't get "that" feeling, i just don't care for it! But JM is just fantastic!

  • Guys, the strumming patterns of both songs are completely different. And the strumming patterns make the songs.

  • regardless of the strumming patterns even, the lyrics are different as are the singing styles and the chorus and the bridge.

I mean seriously, just because 2 songs are played in the same key and use roughly the same octave does not mean one was ripped off the other.......i like DMB, but some of these people need to just chill.....

  • come on man. are you serious? i like dave matthews, but most of his musically inclined fans need to understand he wasnt the first person to pick up an acoustic guitar.

  • I'm sorry but that's a load of bull...

  • I'd have to agree with you, the DMB comparisons seriously bug me.... they're nothing alike.

  • Wow that sounds like So Damn Lucky by Dave Matthews. HE had to have ripped this off Dave.

  • it's easy to write a good song when Dave Matthews already wrote it first.

  • I liked this song better when it was called So Damn Lucky

  • HAHAHAHAHAHA, you cannot be serious? stay on the forums

  • No this is youtube where seriousness doesn't exist, get a grip.

  • I have a feeling that this will be my favourite track on Battle Studies. To my ears, it's perfection!

  • this is amazing. i cannot wait for BattleStudies

  • great song

  • holy shit AMAZING song!

  • does this chord progression remind anyone else of Dave Matthew's So Damn Lucky?

  • i hear what you hear

  • I was thinking it sounds like Great Indoors off Room For Squares

  • now that you mention it, yes it does

  • Same thought here

  • 2 months and 2 days left! Soon I'll hold a copy of Battle Studies in my hands:) <3

  • This is my favorite song by him. Seriously deep, and beautiful melody/progression.

  • This song is so raw...so real and beautiful...deeply moving and makes me want to give John a hug.

  • Does anyone know what kind of guitar this is?? Bob Dylan plays a sunburst. I can only see a "D" on the headstock. Thanks

  • It's a Duesenberg Doublecat.

  • duesenberg guitars

  • you wrote a great song John with luv

  • November 17th = day that my becomes a bit more complete.

  • I'm looking forward to the release date! But I don't like the single ('Who says'). The other songs are great but I like the more bluesy stuff.

  • Is it me or does this sound a bit like Great Indoors? I really hope John keeps bluesing up his stuff, no more pop crap!

  • he said on a twitter post that he is straying away from the bluesy stuff on this album and kicking up the pop

  • It's a bit sad, because I really love the bluesy stuff. But it's still John, and he's amazing no matter what kind of music he's making.. ;D

  • this is so good.

  • excellent

  • why people talk while he is singing..??

    i can't understand it

  • HAH, I was there at I ask that every time. There was a couple in front of me macking it the whole time. Why wait in line? It's unnerving.

  • i should be there instead of them.. :D

  • THANK YOUUU

    please upload the full concert!
