  • very touching lyrics!

  • @tornera0808 Thanks. Glad you liked it.

  • Liked the song very much, had me humming along. If I had to be picky, at around 1minute 30seonds I found the saxophone was competing with the vocals for my attention, so I had to listen to it a couple of times, first concentrating on the lyric and then enjoying the great sound of the sax. It's kinda catchy and the more I hear it, the more I like it. Great video and complemented the song quite brilliantly.

  • dis is well good so catch i wanna dance around wiv it!!!! :D thumbs up:)

  • Once again you wrote a very good song. A simple lyric that has great depth when you put all the phrases together. It is a layered lyric, I agree with others who have said this is poignant and beautiful. This is another notch in the like column.

  • @davieedwinarcher Thank you very much for listening and commenting.

  • @TheConeman162 Thanks for commenting. The bands and artists from the '60s and the '70s were a big influence on me.

  • @robert1970b Thank you, glad you liked it.

  • I like it! The lyrics are quite poignant, really, and I think you got the wistful mood down well. Love the jazzy, 60s feel too! :)

  • @marcelleepereira Thanks. Glad you got it. Someone said to me that the fact that he is in denial is too subtle and that if it hadn't been for my description, he wouldn't have got that.

  • Ilike this.......I have no idea which category .........I put ours into open......half the categories are meaningless to me......Best of luck friend .....I subbed

  • @TheBeestoncowboy Thank you for commenting. I'm not sure which category I will put it into, but I know it won't be the Pop category - apparently that's for kiddy pop.

  • Hi Bunchie - nice song :) and nice video - and by the way, thank you for your comments. Yours Jacob.

  • @venndt Thank you for taking the time to listen and comment. It is much appreciated.

  • Thanks for listening to/watching "The River". I often wonder how people decide what to browse through on Youtube. There is so much out there.

"The Lucky Girl" was a bit of a roast for my husband's 40th.

Very relaxing song. I always think a whistle is a great inclusion - can't do it myself unfortunately.

  • @DaniKaris Hi, I look for songwriters, folk songwriters, unsigned artists, original songs and such like. If I like something, I comment on it and hope that the artist will be kind enough to listen to mine and comment. Thank you for commenting on this.

  • like how the video supports the narrative of the song:) cool song too.still whistling it.

  • @mrsakitumi You are very kind. Praise from a fellow musician is very gratifying.

  • Very nice, very nice. Reminds me of a cross between Leon Redbone and Gilbert O'Sullivan. Well written song and nice track. All the best. Sf

  • @SongwritingWorld Thanks. I hope you're right.

  • I like country lazy poppy music with '60 vibes...it reminds me even to Ray Davis...

  • @nazzare79 Thank you for listening. I always liked the Kinks.

  • Cool song with great atmosphere reminds me of that old Paul Simon line " I'm not the kind of man to socialize I seem to lean on old familiar ways".

  • @Treepitband Thank you for commenting. It's really a song about a man in denial. He's lonely, but he won't admit it.

  • nice song man, i like it

and im glad you liked my cover :D

    props

  • I agree with the guy who said this is a little like the Kinks or George Formby - it's got that old Vaudeville/Music Hall kind of melody, chord sequence and feel. It also reminds me of Harry Nilsson. Nice work!

  • @cardwell Hi, thanks for commenting. Glad you liked it.

  • How so very touching and meaningful!!.. Amazing lyrics!!! Very inspiring video my dear!! THank you so much!!

  • Beautiful song and video. It was very interesting to read about the story connected with your song and video.

    Nadia

  • @NadiaComposer I am glad you approve. My father was a great inspiration to me. He taught me to play the bass guitar and encouraged me to pick up the guitar and learn keyboards.

  • @bunchie1966 That's so wonderful to have a great inspiration from your father! So special! I'm sure your father was very proud of you :)

    Kind regards,

    Nadia

  • Nice song, your whistle is very smart. The begin with the banjo, is like `Raindrops a falling on my head`.

  • @Andreagear4 I'm glad you liked it. I have tried to whistle in a song before, but it didn't sound good. This was done using a new microphone I bought and it came out right. The banjo is a ukulele by the way. Thank you very much.

  • I absolutely love this song! It reminds me of George Formby/George Harrison meets the Kinks. Great stuff! Thanks!

  • @TheSimonBrookes Thank you for your very kind comments.

  • Great Song ! I really enjoyed it ! It was very laid back, at least in the beginning but had a nice jazzy finish ! The video was just wonderful and suited the song very well ! Beautifully Done ! Thank you so much for sharing ! 5*****+

  • @ilovedreams1000 Thank you very much for taking the trouble to comment.

  • Highly melodic. I agree with the comparisons to Clifford T Ward & Gilbert O'Sullivan. Is there an album coming together?

  • @LiamMcFaddenSongs Thanks for your kind comment. I hope so.

    Jim

  • @nipsterstang Sorry to hear that. Thanks for commenting.

  • Well you certainly do write songs that appeal to my taste ! Musically and lyrically reminding me of Clifford T Ward & Gilbert O'sullivan ! Love the instrumentation you use, adds Colour. You are a talented & prolific writer. G

  • @gazzymodo Thank you very much. I did this a little while ago, but hearing your excellent rendition of 'I'll See You In My Dreams' encouraged me to post it. As for the instrumentation, it's amazing what you can do with a computer. Needless to say, I don't play trumpet, sax, jazz fiddle etc.
