If the CCFL ever decides to go out, is it easy to replace? I'm planning to put in new spyder headlights with CCFL in them. I don't know how long they will last but I'm hoping when it's time to replace, it's not a pain. Would I just need to replace the inverter?
@blazian87 CCFL dont normal go out the inverter is usually its the inverter that burns out and that can be easily replace but if the CCFL is burn out than it would require a new CCFL ring and that will be a pain.
For the 1999 F150, I connected the White and Black wire to the middle wire (brown I believe) on the turn and parking light connector. I used make/female insulated connector for the ground so I cold still remove the light
When we tried to connect the lights the low beam was the inside circle. The LED strip and low beam lit up together but when we turned on the bright light, they went out and the other circle was lit up alone and not very bright at all. You said the high beam is the inner circle?
whats the wire pattern for that little blue piece??? i dont know which wire is high beams or low beams or ground i have a white wire a black wire and a blue wire please help ive only got low beams
@MrLilRichard the inner circle is the high beam. If you are not getting high beam check to see that the wire is plugged in all the way and the connection are tight. if that still dose not work try check to see if the bulb is burn out.
@spyderauto All the connections are real tight and the bulb isn't burnt out...its weird...oh well i guess ill just take it to my local shop and see if my friend can do it.
I made the mistake of purchasing them already... arrived with the wet seal partially dried to the installation - pink residue surrounding the light housing. Not that I can't fix that but its a bit irritating considering cost. It's almost as if they assembled them after I ordered them and shipped them off with no QA/QC. There was no QA/QC stamp on them either like when I received with my taillights from another company. Distributor shipped a week later than promised as well...
Its probably because they don't fit flush like the original headlamp... they protrude - and there is a significant gap around the projector housing and its different on the passenger side versus the driver side.
The black adjusters are for adjusting the lights so they beam toward the road versus the driver in front of you... they should fit all the way through so that when you push the locks down the assembly locks in place. If you install properly, nothing should look out of place... atleast it doesn't look out of place on mine... but I am having problems with the left turn signal... it doesn't flash and the cab indicator flashes rapidly and the rear turn signal works but flashes rapidly as well.
@sbrugueras o i got them to work the putty like stuff shows to i need to get something to fix that but it shouldnt be that bad and everyone loves the lights they look great
@547toshiba - I took the cheap route to hide the wet putty.... blacked out with a sharpie... I'm going to sand once the stuff dries all the way and attempt to fill gaps with edging material. The lights do look great and I actually did solve the ticker problem without having to purchase a relay. I looked at another post and found a bad harness plug... disassembled the plug and rewired... everything works fine! Just have to dress them up a bit...
@547toshiba - you have to adjust the black knobs (3 total per unit). If you have a gap on the bottom, adjust the two bottom lead screw adjusters toward the projector housing-this will make them seat inward. Same for single top leadscrew and adjuster. It took me about three to four adjustments but they are FAIRLY flush now... Be sure to tuck away the black box and harness plug... it can get jarred between the unit and the backplate and you'll have problems getting it flush.
When I took after installation pictures and a video they looked just like the OEM headlights... I used a Sony Cyber-shot 10.1 Megapixel camera. I guess the camera just can't capture what they really look like because of the brightness??? They do look great at night... when you can't see the details (i.e. you can see flaws in the product during the daytime).
I don't understand the point of this video.

After all that, You don't show how it looks on the truck. Why?

Its probably because they don't fit flush like the original headlamp... they protrude - and there is a significant gap around the projector housing and its different on the passenger side versus the driver side.

@sbrugueras Yeah that's probably why.

Do the black adjusters stay on the inside resting against the assembly or shoudl they removed and screwed on after sticking through the sheetmetal

mine dont fit...how can i pull the lights in more

@547toshiba you will have to use the adjuster to help pull in the light. thank you.
