  • great vid enjoyed

  • This would be a fantastic defunct rail line to fill in with finer rock dust and be used as a bike path from Banks, OR to Tillamook, OR. _SO_ many people would be into biking to the coast from Portland area on a no-car route!

  • esse trecho mi lembra FCA

  • I hope that they rebuild this line. I bet it's worth more than the AERC in Albany.

  • According to their website, FEMA gave them money to rebuild the railroad after the flood, but the powers that be diverted the money to improve the airport and the industrial park.

  • Wonder if there is any chance that this line will ever re rebuilt ? What a waste.

  • This is such a peaceful and beautiful ride - no crossings, horns, cars... nothing but beautiful woods, in a "secret place", where only trains can go... LOL

  • that seems like a smooooth ride!

  • The money WE PAID as taxes to one of those fucktard execs of the banks for the bailouts, would have helped to re-open this line.

Where is the "Stimulus" really going?

  • Towards the Shifted load. lol

  • what happened to the 9's?

  • this is the best cab ride vid. The sound of that 567 is nice. where was this train heading?

  • Without sand my fellow hogger, remember, you can still use your drivers which helps.

    Peace.

  • I remember when i rode in the cab of a Santa Fe engine it was awesome!

  • One of the tastiest rail vids I've ever seen . . . and I've seen plenty! the scenery is wonderful along this line! where exactly is it?

  • Nice job and a very beautiful scenic rail line indeed. What kind of locomotive was this in?

  • POTB Runs a fleet of ex SP and BN SD9s. By the looks of it, it was in a BN SD9.

  • No kidding they're done? I was hearing they got a grant to fix a good portion. Could be wrong...

  • The POTB has officially mothballed the line. They filed for a discontinuance of service last week.

I was pretty optimistic about getting it rebuilt before this but now it looks like nothing will ever be done about it. Farewell POTB, you shall be missed. :-(

  • I called the POTB and they were not very hopeful about rebuilding the line. They said they need FEMA to pay for 1/2 of the reconstruction, but they think FEMA won't come through. Very sad! This is certainly one of Oregon's most scenic railroads. If they let it die, all the pioneer lives lost to build it were for naught.

  • Great Video MATT ! My hat is off to you !

  • Great stuff Matt... Better safe then sorry when it comes to shifted loads. Glad to see more of the videos and I was glad you were able to go with us. Can't wait for part 2!!

  • Awesome! It's cool you got to ride it before it got washed out, hopefully it will get rebuilt.

  • Love the sound of those EMD GMs

  • Fantastic

  • Nice one Matt
