@3:00: No the ice flower isn't making a continuity error. It's only other appearance before Galaxy is Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time, and even then I don't count RPGs as power-up defining Mario games. If anything, any game after, specificallly New Super Mario Bros Wii, messed up the continuity.

If you try to do a long jump while ice-skating you'll do a longer jump. It works in Galaxy 2 i know that. Not sure about Galaxy 1.
