There's a demand crisis? Is it possible that the lack of demand is the result of people realizing they can't behave like the government and charge everything to credit. Now consumers are reducing spending to increase their own personal solvency and the government's policy is to try to coax them back into ruinous spending on credit. Thanks for looking out for THE PEOPLE.... The best thing the government can do is to reduce uncertainty -- halt Obamacare and refrain from tinkering with the economy.
@HereMikeWas What, you like the way he sets up prostitution rings and fucking everything he can get, all the while as the governor of New York and married to a beautiful woman? I can't believe this guy would show his face in public again, and MSNBC has him as an anchor! Who they gonna sign up next, Jerry Sandusky?
@dancinkindofguy Eliot Spitzer did not do anything that bad I do not care I voted for him. When he was New York State Attorney General he made a lot of enemies and they went after him. Before the financial melt down on Wall St he was the guy going after the companies like AIG for fraud and what not like mortgage scams so if that man wants some dirty hot sex with a woman instead of his wife go for it he wont be the first like our great founding fathers who banged their slaves!
@dancinkindofguy I just like to watch people smackdown Ann Coulter and no better man then Spitzer. I don't care if he cares for me but he ran the state of New York just fine.
Spitzer is pretty funny. He seem to think he really knows what he is talking about. He doesn't. He is myopic and being short sighted he thinks he sees the whole picture. He doesn't. When there is lack of demand it's pretty easy to say 'What we need is demand.' You don't need to be an economist or a genius to make that observation or come to that conclusion. But you have to be smarter than Spitzer to see that how demand comes about is enormously important. Unfortunately, he doesn't
@HereMikeWas Your remark is as irrelevant as his education. If you start with the wrong set of assumptions, whether he was taught them (most likely) or not, you fail. Progressive institutions and thinking are unsustainable, are demonstrably wrong and only persist due to the 'greed of the masses' wanting to live off of someone else's efforts and an egregiously mistaken sense of Noblesse oblige on the part of the wealthy that creates the institutions that create the problems.
@HereMikeWas You're just full of non-sequiturs. But your example points to something interesting. If O'Reilly concludes there is a god because of the tides then that shows an ability to draw conclusions based on the wrong evidence. Or more non-sequiturs. Much like Spitzers spurious reasoning.

Ann Coulter speaks as if she is saying: "Look, this is perfectly obvious," I mean, you look at her saying things with a charming smile, and an innocent look on her beautiful face, but if one listens, she makes the most ignorant comments. Black is white, up is down, ignorance is knowledge. 21st century version of Orwell's "1984." Michelle Bachmann, Coulter, & Sarah Palin do not even have enough breadth and depth of knowledge to teach high school academic subjects, and they are, on nationwide TV.
@samanthaoaklandcd Ann has radically too much depth, breadth and, most significantly, ipseity to teach in most modern 'high schools' without being purged by the stiff-necked masters of piously inculcated Orwellian quoting rubes.
@TaterGumfries Why is Spitzer? He proves himself ignorant of anything but talking points every time he opens his mouth. So does the host. Keynes was an idiot. He simply gave politicians cover and justification for grabbing power and money. Nothing more. As an economist he is an abysmal failure!
The refutation to her argument that not doing anything makes the economy turn around lies in the 1930s when the GOP shamed Roosevelt in loosening and squelching the stimulus programs. The economy quickly tanked for over a year before Roosevelt brought back the stimulus programs. Can't this dumb skank read history for once? Just like a Republican to deny the facts but promote their wrongheaded fantasies that have been proven wrong..
@jerryballew37 You wouldn't know a fact if it bit you in the ass. YOu have it exaclty wrong. Just what history of the 20's and the 30's have you read? Times magazine's version? Talk about being a skank. I'd say your a whore for the Liberal/Progressive nonsense that pervades popular culture.
@equsnarnd Liberal/Progressive nonsense that pervades popular culture? Are you talking about the United States of America? Because there is nothing Liberal or Progressive about this country. If there were we would be a Democracy not a Democratic Republic- funny how we try to spread democracy all over the globe but wont allow it in our own country.
If we were progressive we would have elections were the vote of the people mattered- not some electoral collage.
@4BilIngram Ah, the Humpty-Dumpty crowd has shown up. When you use it word it means exactly what you chose it to mean. nothing more and nothing less. And you really do think that is being logical, don't you?
I mean is there really any difference between Dem and Repubs? legal abortion originated as a Republican value, as was separation of church and state and equatable taxation. What happened?
If we were progressive we would have a senate and congress that would put aside their petty squabbles and realize they are there to do work for the people of this country. I think that any government official can not be able to make more then $30,000.00 a year- keep greedy career politico's out of office.
Spitzer is also wrong in stating that Keynes' theories have been correct at every turn. That is misleading, they have been interpreted on categorical factors, such as saying that demand is the cause, when demand is actually a result of the real issue. These people don't even account for the subjective aspect of economics. Keynes was so talented an economist he advised dispersing dividends of investments not to the investors, but rather to the employees of the invested. He was a fabian economist.
Spitzer says there's a "demand crisis of enormeous volume", and that executives are "stitting on 2 trillion dollars of capital." His solution is to invest in inventory which will increase demand? If the reason for a deficit of demand is a lack of puchasing power, then Spitzer would lead these companies further into a economic black hole. The lack of demand is not due to a shortage of supply, it's because there's is not enough real money in the economy and inflation is a major offset to demand.
facts speak for themselves. i've noticed the word "slick" used for explainations and commentary that's too hard to understand. we need to educate ourselves to current issues by studying history, economics, etc. when there's so much money and power at stake please don't naively believe that ideal, plain-speaking, james stewart-like hero/messiah will appear and make all our problems go away. that's exactly the mindset the current/flawed two party system wants us to keep and Not grow out of.
@mrguermo1 Yes, she loses in the battle of silver tongues. Spitzer bases his whole rhetoric on "I believe it worked". Ann loses by being so brash in her choice of words, but wins on the facts contained therein. Nutshell = I respectfully disagree with you about who won based on the facts proposed, not the eloquence of the speakers. +1 for Coulter on facts, +1 for Spitzer's smooth speech. Free enterprise creates more shovel ready jobs in America, we're not communists yet.
@mrguermo1 Eliot believes the government saved us from a bubble collapse by collapsing the value of our value adding production by debasing currency through borrowing. We will eventually run out of other peoples (namely employed middle class) money. Supporting 18 months of well fed unemployment and calling cuts to future spending INCREASES a deficit reduction is ludicrous. Producers become consumers, governments in free societies cannot create jobs or demand when they pay folks to stay home.
Elliot Spitzer, I could punch you in the face. Someone please explain to me the recession of 1937/38 that followed 9 years of Keynesian approved government "stimulus" spending. Obama's stimulus bill has crippled the private sector.
Can we increase demand w/o increasing inflation and can we take advantage of this increase in demand to stimulate our economy and stay friends with China.
He doesn't really own Ann. He makes a lot of assertions. Who the hell knows if they are true. Ann doesn't really put on much of a show, because I'm guessing she really doesn't know that much about economics.
This retarded bitch doesn't even understand simple economics. She blames Obama at every chance much like Reagan blamed Jimmy Carter for every problem he had.
@kr4yzi32k 1983 had the highest unemployment rate since 1941, so yes, Carter contributed extensively to an ailing economy. In fact Carter produced one of the deepest recessions which is also the least discussed in this nation.
@kr4yzi32k Much like Obama blames Bush, Clinton blamed Bush, and Carter blamed Ford.
It's funny how a tendentious dogmatist such as yourself has carefully selected the Presidents who were apparently, according to you, unfairly and disgracefully negatively analysed by people who disgustingly disagreed with their policies, and they just so happen to be Democrat Presidents.
Unlike Coulter, you understand neither simple nor complex economics, rather becoming credulous of the simplistic.
@kr4yzi32k You must be referring to Obama blaming W Bush at every chance... because Reagan was too gracious to blame Carter, even if it was obvious to the entire country.
Typical leftist psychological projection, blaming their opposition for their own faults... how cynical and twisted.
@FadmanID You can communicate a point in a very elegant fashion and still be totally wrong as Spitzer, and the rest of the economics morons on this list, are.
Keynesian economics proved to have failed in the US, UK and other places as it creates bubles and faulty foundations... N u can't just print money out of thinair to bailout big corporates n then pretend that everything is ok! Sorry, i hate Ann Coulter, she is a twat, but Eliot is wrong; we have 50 million people without jobs in the US, and over 30 million people living in poverty... Keynesians failed!
If you actually talk with business people the majority of them will tell you that they are not expanding and deploying capital for fear of onerous regulations. While Mr Spitzer paints a nice pro Keynesian picture I fear that he is bending reality to fit his theory when he says that businesses aren't investing due to a lack of demand. Of course, if demand is the only ingredient needed, then why not "stimulate" forever without stopping?
@Ultimatevilperson1 Ohhhh okay I suppose we will trust you and the others in the ivory tower to decide when to pull the strings. Got it. Let me guess, you would like the job of playing god with the economy.
@mason72518 I never said that, and I dont pull the string neither do I want or have ambitions to. The question posed here is if the method works or not in stabalizing a consumerbased economi, and it dose. Thereafter what should be cut and what to spend and above all when. Keeping in mind that if done poorly and too recklessly it will worsen it. Valid point though that one should not just trust people to "just" make the decision. It need debate and reasoning behind it
@Ultimatevilperson1 The fact you miss is that the market represents the sum total of the wisdom and stupidity of all participants. No group will effectivly re direct resources better than the market would have done in the first place. Moreover, all interventions have unintended consequences that are only seen in hindsight. Lastly, it is not clear that govt spending improves long term economic position - $ spent by govt is $ not spent by the private sector which spends more effeciently anyways
@mason72518 true that the longterm effect may have undesired consequences, and yes private sector is wiser at investing own profits and to a large extent should be left alone not dissagreeing. However turnarounds in recessions has come from govt spending, again I am not saying that the private sector is useless, but it is just in need of macro economics. FDR. the ONLY democrat I admire solved his problems that way. However there is a valid criticism of Obamas way of handeling it
@Ultimatevilperson1 Turnarounds and growth come from capitalism and free trade. People pursuing their seperate interest is what propels society forwards. Look at the depression of 1919/1920 and you will see very clearly how the marketplace and capitalism lifted us out of a very severe contraction all the while the govt was reducing spending and increasing interest rates. The combination empowered the private sector and we had an enormous boom in the 20s. This is the opposite of today's policies.
@mason72518 Actuarly absolutley free market is what caused the crash to begin with and is one of the most clear counter arguments to "absolute" free market. That is without ANY regulations that caused irresponsibility by banks. in effect causing the stock bubble. Much like bill clintons housing initiative caused the current housing bubble. Still if you want failed govt interference in the economy, look no further than pre WWII germany, Zimbabwe, Komunism (in most cases)... ETC
@Ultimatevilperson1 The crash of 29 (i think that's what you refer to) was caused by credit bubble blown up by the federal reserve, which caused the 20's boom to overshoot. The depression was not caused by the crash, but by the trde war started by America. I suggest Rothbard's "America's Depression" for an excellent over view of the causes.
@Ultimatevilperson1 FDR solved nothing and if you think so your education has been as vile as your argument. Try reading something other than Keynesian economists, ie, democrats looking for more gov't power. The depth of ignorance of economics in this society is truly breathtaking. Even historical records are warped into serving the purpose of gaining more power and you trolls out there lap it up if it comes in the right package. Truly pitiful.
@mason72518 Furthermore I would add that considering the state of US economy is getting better, not very much though, more like baby steps. They only tell you that the reccession is over to get you to spend money in the economy, this all in order to prevent it getting deeper as it need money in circulation.
dont depict me in an ivory tower please. I far from loved in my country, mainly due to my, for a lack of a better word "pro - american" sentiments.
@Ultimatevilperson1 We have been spending money on stimulus since 2007 under G Bush. It has not worked. Austrian economistts (and I am not including Coulter as one, nor as a smart person) have known all along that "stimulative" efforts would fail. The stimulus does not stimulate, rather it acts as a depressant as it takes $ from the private sector and gives $ to the govt which blows the money on useless programs.
@mason72518 there are numerous times that has happened, they just did not call them stimulus packages. I really hate to say this Sweden has one of the best economis in europe right now, and we are pure Kensyan (sorry about spelling). only time can tell whether it was succesfull or not. Your concern is valid though, there is a great deal of corruption and fraudulent behaviour by poiticians, and as long as they dont expand their power above the constitution I am not TOO alarmed.
@Ultimatevilperson1 Certainly, many recoveries have coincided with increases in govt spending. But that does not mean that the recovery was caused by the spending. Likely, you would have had a stronger expansion without the govt spending. As for Sweden I imagine that you too would be even stronger today with more capitalism. Certainly Sweden is not as backwards as Greece and some others, but I think that intelligent hard working Swedes would be better at running the ecnomy than bureaucrats.
@mason72518 They are because (causial effect) of the incentive given to private people by the govt to spend money in the economy. And yes Greece is backwards. Sweden is a wellfare society, in fact we love taxes, and being taxed, in return for services such as healthcare, education( the only ones I like to be free), etc. Greece expects the system without the taxes. Dont give us that much credit we are quite lazy, and rude. We tand to hate Capitalism, and America. Both I love :(
@mason72518 I have been called everything from a war criminal, fascist, nazi, that I should die, that I am not worthy of living here. not officialy by govt, but by the people here. I am not living in an ivory tower. I am all from deeply hated or not worth listening to. I will defend american values and do so till I die.
The right to life libery and persuit of happiness
I am Swedish by the way, and though a quasi socialist in many regards. I take different stances in different issues. Peace:)
Is this woman on some kind of self destructive tour to make herself look like the dumbest, most ignorant and factually clueless person in the world? Certainly the world of television.
GOP needs this bitch to shut up, she is the stupidest, ignorant bitch I have ever heard talk. EVER. He cut taxes, and that brought in more revenue?????????????????. Who exactly bought her books?. Oh and tell her to shut her trap about Canada, cause the next time she comes it will be worse then the last!!!!!.
@kilox10001 thats not a comparison, hitler was a political leader, shes a political commenter. she does say alot of bs with the intention of pissing people off, but do you really think anyone rallys behind her nastiness? no, trust me, me and my father dont go around pissing off muslims for the hell of it, and the ones who do honestly beleive we should go do that are all talk for the most part. i wont lie that part of what she says is nonsense to piss people like you off. but its harmless.
@kilox10001 ruining lives? did she shit on your doorstep and light it on fire? look bub, joking aside, shes a conservative opinion piece, thats right, people have freedom of speech and she uses it to the freakin max. i dont like what keith olberman says but i dont run around saying he ruined my life either. pick a side and quit telling me millions of people are the victim of ann coulter, thats just silly, when someone says a mean thing (which is what she does and ALL she does) buck up.
@kilox10001 same views, just more blunt. rude? sure! whatever makes you feel better. pretty well agreed on that one, i didnt ask you to pick her book up. go ahead and be set in your ways.
@kilox10001 her books? yeah my dad has a few on the shelf in his study. everyone in my family has perfect teeth by the way. the interesting part about her is that i know ALOT of toothless rightwingers (toothless leftwingers too) and few have the patience to pick up one of her books. look if youre going to throw hatespeech thats fine, but if its as baseless as it appears to me then i cant take you seriously.
@RoboSlater I saw absolutely nothing wrong on his part. She was getting somewhat flustered that her argument didn't hold any weight, and all he did was speak in a logical, concise manner. I see nothin g wrong here. Or are you gonna claim that he's ''RAPING BEATING AND ASSAULTING HER WHAT A MONSTER HOW CAN HE NOT AGREE''.
No serious economist believes in Keynesian economics anymore. Nor should they. Watch any YouTube video mentioning Keynesian economics. Not ONE finds it anything but wrong wrong wrong. You can't even get a Keynesian to post a YouTube video supporting it. Our economic downturn is solely caused by the application of Keynesian economics, moron.
@RoboSlater Lol what? ''Youtube doesn't have ANY videos supporting Keynesian, therefore its wrong!''. Seriously? You get your information from youtube? That's laughable. As for her being highly regarded, by who? Who regards ann coulter in high respects? hat economist (that isn't a right winger)? She spouts off typical right wing bullshit. Hell, I can do the same. It doesn't take individual research and study. It's just parroting.
Ann Coulter is always better prepared than those on the panels on which she participates. It's why she's highly regarded by economists and political experts, but not so much by ignoramuses.
@sumskater999 oh if only that were a general rule in all politics, but it seems when a sex scandal or dubious past of a republican figure comes to light, all that happens is he gets more popular ie herman cain and newt Gingrich
Leading economists and historians Thomas Sowell, Walter E. Williams and the late Milton Friedman -- only our Nobel Prize winner in economics -- are squarely on Ann Coulter's side. I doubt having a law, but no economics, background gives Spitzer any edge; his and his colleague's reasoning were so far off the mark it had to be vanity -- a chance to say they debated Coulter -- that had them take untenable positions..
It's a shame Spitzer got caught with his hand in the cookie jar. If it wasn't for his scandal, I honestly believe he could've been the next president.
Coulter is an idiot, she doesnt have the intelectual background to discuss serious issues with people who are much smarter than she is. She's great to look at but she belongs in a talk show. On serious shows like this one here, she doesn't belong because it's like sitting a teacher with a 6 year old and have them start a conversation on political issues. Her ignorance is embarrassing. I really believe they have her on these shows just to make fun of her and of the right wingers.
Coulter's fun to look at, but damn you really just gotta do it on mute so you can try to forget how stupid and ignorant she is. When I say stupid I mean literally, dumb. It's like the perfect balance though, as hot as she is, she manages to offset every last bit of it with ignorance and hate. lol, the valedictorian speaking at her alma mater video was priceless. Hateful clown I think he said. More like a hateful stripper that won't take her clothes off and looks down on everyone.
@kilox10001 now now, being a hateful bitch is not manipulative, its just provocative. as flamingly opinionated as she is, ive never seen her manipulate anyone.
The situation will very likely get worse because of the effort being made to reduce government spending, and the eventual likelyhood that inflation will drive up interest rates. Both moves are contractionary. Mr. Spitzer is the first commentator I've listened to who seems to know what he's talking about. I taught macroeconomics for fifteen years. Unfortunately, we have our hands tied behind our back thanks to the supply-siders. Trickle down has created a disaster.
Spitzer is right. During recessions the only variable that can be controlled is goverment spending. Unfortunately, thirty years of trickle down has created such a massive debt that deficit spending has to be restricted. We have no wiggle room. The Keynesian model is still the main macroeconomic model. It does work, but in our current situation it cannot be implimented. Monetary policy is ineffective right now because the banks have restricted lending. Maybe we should call for Batman?
It's interesting how the uploader took this video out of context so that only the liberal argument was shown and didn't even show Ann Coulter's response to Spitzer.
Why is Coulter still on television?

He was a fabian economist.
whipivy 1 month ago

Nutshell = I respectfully disagree with you about who won based on the facts proposed, not the eloquence of the speakers. +1 for Coulter on facts, +1 for Spitzer's smooth speech. Free enterprise creates more shovel ready jobs in America, we're not communists yet.
TheOkiePC 1 month ago
@mrguermo1 Eliot believes the government saved us from a bubble collapse by collapsing the value of our value adding production by debasing currency through borrowing. We will eventually run out of other peoples (namely employed middle class) money. Supporting 18 months of well fed unemployment and calling cuts to future spending INCREASES a deficit reduction is ludicrous. Producers become consumers, governments in free societies cannot create jobs or demand when they pay folks to stay home.

Of course, if demand is the only ingredient needed, then why not "stimulate" forever without stopping?
mason72518 2 months ago
@mason72518 Because you cut to prevent inflations and spend to prevent depressions.
Ultimatevilperson1 2 months ago
@Ultimatevilperson1 Ohhhh okay I suppose we will trust you and the others in the ivory tower to decide when to pull the strings. Got it. Let me guess, you would like the job of playing god with the economy.
mason72518 2 months ago
@mason72518 I never said that, and I dont pull the string neither do I want or have ambitions to. The question posed here is if the method works or not in stabalizing a consumerbased economi, and it dose. Thereafter what should be cut and what to spend and above all when. Keeping in mind that if done poorly and too recklessly it will worsen it. Valid point though that one should not just trust people to "just" make the decision. It need debate and reasoning behind it
Ultimatevilperson1 2 months ago
@Ultimatevilperson1 The fact you miss is that the market represents the sum total of the wisdom and stupidity of all participants. No group will effectivly re direct resources better than the market would have done in the first place. Moreover, all interventions have unintended consequences that are only seen in hindsight. Lastly, it is not clear that govt spending improves long term economic position - $ spent by govt is $ not spent by the private sector which spends more effeciently anyways
mason72518 2 months ago
@mason72518 true that the longterm effect may have undesired consequences, and yes private sector is wiser at investing own profits and to a large extent should be left alone not dissagreeing. However turnarounds in recessions has come from govt spending, again I am not saying that the private sector is useless, but it is just in need of macro economics. FDR. the ONLY democrat I admire solved his problems that way. However there is a valid criticism of Obamas way of handeling it
Ultimatevilperson1 2 months ago
@Ultimatevilperson1 Turnarounds and growth come from capitalism and free trade. People pursuing their seperate interest is what propels society forwards. Look at the depression of 1919/1920 and you will see very clearly how the marketplace and capitalism lifted us out of a very severe contraction all the while the govt was reducing spending and increasing interest rates. The combination empowered the private sector and we had an enormous boom in the 20s. This is the opposite of today's policies.
mason72518 2 months ago
@mason72518 Actuarly absolutley free market is what caused the crash to begin with and is one of the most clear counter arguments to "absolute" free market. That is without ANY regulations that caused irresponsibility by banks. in effect causing the stock bubble. Much like bill clintons housing initiative caused the current housing bubble. Still if you want failed govt interference in the economy, look no further than pre WWII germany, Zimbabwe, Komunism (in most cases)... ETC
Ultimatevilperson1 2 months ago
@Ultimatevilperson1 The crash of 29 (i think that's what you refer to) was caused by credit bubble blown up by the federal reserve, which caused the 20's boom to overshoot. The depression was not caused by the crash, but by the trde war started by America. I suggest Rothbard's "America's Depression" for an excellent over view of the causes.

Ultimatevilperson1 2 months ago
@Ultimatevilperson1 FDR solved nothing and if you think so your education has been as vile as your argument. Try reading something other than Keynesian economists, ie, democrats looking for more gov't power. The depth of ignorance of economics in this society is truly breathtaking. Even historical records are warped into serving the purpose of gaining more power and you trolls out there lap it up if it comes in the right package. Truly pitiful.
equsnarnd 1 month ago
@mason72518 Furthermore I would add that considering the state of US economy is getting better, not very much though, more like baby steps. They only tell you that the reccession is over to get you to spend money in the economy, this all in order to prevent it getting deeper as it need money in circulation.
dont depict me in an ivory tower please. I far from loved in my country, mainly due to my, for a lack of a better word "pro - american" sentiments.
Ultimatevilperson1 2 months ago
@Ultimatevilperson1 We have been spending money on stimulus since 2007 under G Bush. It has not worked. Austrian economistts (and I am not including Coulter as one, nor as a smart person) have known all along that "stimulative" efforts would fail. The stimulus does not stimulate, rather it acts as a depressant as it takes $ from the private sector and gives $ to the govt which blows the money on useless programs.
mason72518 2 months ago
@mason72518 there are numerous times that has happened, they just did not call them stimulus packages. I really hate to say this Sweden has one of the best economis in europe right now, and we are pure Kensyan (sorry about spelling). only time can tell whether it was succesfull or not. Your concern is valid though, there is a great deal of corruption and fraudulent behaviour by poiticians, and as long as they dont expand their power above the constitution I am not TOO alarmed.
Ultimatevilperson1 2 months ago
@Ultimatevilperson1 Certainly, many recoveries have coincided with increases in govt spending. But that does not mean that the recovery was caused by the spending. Likely, you would have had a stronger expansion without the govt spending. As for Sweden I imagine that you too would be even stronger today with more capitalism. Certainly Sweden is not as backwards as Greece and some others, but I think that intelligent hard working Swedes would be better at running the ecnomy than bureaucrats.
mason72518 2 months ago
@mason72518 They are because (causial effect) of the incentive given to private people by the govt to spend money in the economy. And yes Greece is backwards. Sweden is a wellfare society, in fact we love taxes, and being taxed, in return for services such as healthcare, education( the only ones I like to be free), etc. Greece expects the system without the taxes. Dont give us that much credit we are quite lazy, and rude. We tand to hate Capitalism, and America. Both I love :(

Trickle down has created a disaster.
foredeck100 3 months ago
Spitzer is right. During recessions the only variable that can be controlled is goverment spending. Unfortunately, thirty years of trickle down has created such a massive debt that deficit spending has to be restricted. We have no wiggle room. The Keynesian model is still the main macroeconomic model. It does work, but in our current situation it cannot be implimented. Monetary policy is ineffective right now because the banks have restricted lending. Maybe we should call for Batman?
