Very nice video. I have very old bolt action rifle, and i thought first it it chambered to .22LR, but after many different typers of cartridges i found out its .22Short.
Its quite nice weapon. I have shoot with it in my garage. Not too much noise, and not much power though.
.22 short has always been one of my favorites. I have an old Stevens 22 semi auto that will shoot shorts longs and long rifle interchangably. Holds 20 rounds of shorts in the tube. I dont know why they quit making these.
@broncowheeler12 dont under estimate a .22 short. They where first made for self defense. In other words, made to kill big mean people. LOL Anyway, They can kill and will at least make a very nasty wound.
what`s the name of the .22 pump action rifle? and what sort of amma do you use for it? my father have one and we havent found any ammo for it in Sweden to shot whit
@superstickeyman456 ok thanks but the bullet seems to short when we fire the rife the bullet spinns and when you reload the shell is to short for the mecanisem to pick it up from the "magasine"
When I shooting 22 back in 69 a box of 50 was 19 cents . A brick of 500 for 1.90 plus tax for federal Mowhawk. I would dump them in my pockets and shoot at the river bottem all day long. Thanks for sharing.
@GunWebsites Sorry if I stepped on your toes, But I was always told that a firearm that is cocked and has a closed action (such as the beatiful pump action of yours has on the video) is to be treated as a loaded gun. How often haven't we heard "I was sure it was empty ..."? That's all - we're all different and I might be the soft one here, but I can live with that. Happy shootin'.
Well you might want to re-consider.. we are all told not to cross the street, to hold hands in a parking lot and to never talk to strangers as kids.. then we grow up
In a situation where people are talking, shooting and al lot is going on I would agree with you 100%
But within a 3 minute video, where you see the open / empty action and then the rifle is placed on a table and not touched.. come on
@kode1303 Where i'm from, if you leave the action open, the receiver and barrel will rust. We're not in gun safety class. The safest way would of been to put the ammo away before showing the firearms or the other way around.
Well I don't see anything unsafe about have ammo next to an empty rifle..
IF someone DOES see that as unsafe they are not just uneducated about how guns work, but it sounds like they have issues that go beyond realistic 'norms' and should seek counselling
@GunWebsites My comment was very civil, there was no need for insult. Try taking the unrestricted firearm safety course over again or at least look over the new hunters ed book. Law blaintly states ammo should always be away from the firearm until in use, well, in Canada anyway. I aswell believe a gun is only dangerous once loaded and one is chambered but its not my rules
@GunWebsites my local gun shop has a used beretta minx 22 short for $225, i think the price is a little high but i just dont want to pass it up as I have not seen one in over 20 years. what do you think? I value you opinion.
@GunWebsites cool thank's alot, the gun is in fair to good condition, I think i'll pick it up today but i will try to talk the owner of the shop down a little on it. peace and keep on shootin friend!
Did you inherit this collection or did you collect it separately? I have seen collections like this which was passed down from someones grandfather who must have bought it over time and was frugal and ended up never shooting the stuff and then ended up dying. Thats why i shoot all my stuff! I be damned if someone else gets to shoot my ammo!!
I would take a 22 over a 25acp for defense anyday. Neither round is going to blow someone off their feet, but when it comes down to penetration, I believe i would have more faith in a 22 caliber, its narrower so it will penetrate further. just make sure you use CCI STINGER ammo for defense.
@aerospaceace10 ,to light of a bullet+hyper velocity+close range=bad penetration and fragmenting...go with those super x super speed rounds(round nose=minimal expansion and great penetration) 1300 fps round nose,40 grain
am new to guns and have a ew questions, if you'd be so kind as to you know alot about guns.
1) is a 22 short, like an NAA revolver good for everyday carry, if you have a= ccw permit. I know a 22LR can kill but how about a 22 short? Will it protect you enough?
2) how about a 22LR or a 22 Mag, is that enough for self defense.
3) why does everyone tell me a 22lr is better than a 25 auto for self defense. They say it's astronger round. Is that true?
Thanks a lot for your help, so you don't think an NAA 22 Mag would be a descent good for self defense and everyday carry with a CCW permit. I like it because of it's size and weight and if I buy it, know I would carry it everyday.
i forgot to ask but how much did that pump action cost and do you still take it out once in a while and let a few rounds get out of it or just have it in the cabnet looking good?
it's not my rifle, it is at the gunshop where this video was filmed.. It didn't have a price yet, but they have another like it for around $500 I think.. I didn't get that that one, I asked..
??? i believe that 22lr and 22 short are both rimfire if i'm not mistaking the diff is that 22lr is a lil bit longer a lil bit bigger then the shorts 22lr = 22 long rifle, 22 shorts = short and 22 wmr = 22 winchester magnum rifle (a lil bit longer then the 22lr or a lot) get it?
ha, you say you usually make mile shots with a larger cal., I'd like to see you try

Seems like a poor choice for self defence

@glenr649 I don't see what your comment has to do with the video, but my favorite .22 cal pellet is the BSA Elite. You can buy them from MidwayUSA.

I wish loading a gun was as simple as hovering some ammo near it and closing the action. That would sure simplify things.

Love the video, love the .22 short, love the guns, hate when someone leaves a 'ready-to-shoot' rifle on a table - even when it's a .22 short.

Where did you see a loaded firearm in this video?
I cycled the pump, and the revolver is obviously empty (and single action)
Glad you like it, but don't go hating what isn't there ..

good questions
#1 - no the .22 short is NOT good for defense, it is for the range or perhaps for rodents
#2 - possible, but NOT recommended by most people
#3 - Both are lower power and poor choices IMO
I am not sure about which is more powerful

well I do carry one occasionally as a backup or second backup.. not as my main defense

1.you would not want to be shot in the face with a 22 short...neither would a bad guy.
2.same thing...u wouldn`t want to b shot in the face from 15 feet.
3.idk,i don`t think it would matter...
btw,im not the guy that is on the vid,i just know crap about guns

what's the diff between 22 lr and 22 rimshot?
mrzack888 2 years ago
??? i believe that 22lr and 22 short are both rimfire if i'm not mistaking the diff is that 22lr is a lil bit longer a lil bit bigger then the shorts 22lr = 22 long rifle, 22 shorts = short and 22 wmr = 22 winchester magnum rifle (a lil bit longer then the 22lr or a lot) get it?
duemamay 2 years ago
will firing 22 mess with your accuracy in firing higher cal guns? since 22 has less recoil. 22 is so inexpensive relative, so I want to try it.
mrzack888 2 years ago
not at all, many people practice with .22
Accuracy is technique, not just managing recoil, so practice with a small caliber is still practice
