I own a 636 and 600's lose all the time. but it is all due to rider skills in the 600 class i can beat my 03 636 with my friends 08 cbr all day then turn around and win with my 636. and my friends 06 r6 is the same. to everyone saying one is way better than another get a life and really ride.just being able to go fast doesnt make you a good rider , find the one most comfortable to your riding style/size and have fun be safe use your gear(no ones a perfect rider).

@MrVoicetuner yes, i am! and there might be, im sure i havent raced EVERY 600 around. but i'd say pretty close. i go to the strip where all the local riders go to race on a regular basis. the only bikes that have beat me was a zx6r (had nos) and my buddys r6. me and him fuck around all the time though, i've beaten him a couple times and he's beaten me a couple times. that zx6r with nos was pretty ridiculous though. definitely made me want a nos kit!

I have 2000 yamaha r1 with lots of mods and its fast as shit and with fuck up a 600 on the highways and drag tracks ETC...BUT i also have an 04 636 and as much as i hate to admit it, it spanks my R1 in the corners. Give credit where credit is due. Just because you have more power doesnt make you better all around. A 636 is way more nimble then a R1...I speak from EXP.

Guys R6's low end sucks, so all the other 600's will get a good head start. As soon as the R6 get's to its top end that's when the real party starts. The guy on the R6 probably got a lead on the other guy by the end of this run.

if the r6 had a better launch (assuming both bikes were fairly stock) the race wouldve been 636 sided MAYBE through 2nd. After that the r6 would easily overcome him. Before you guys start "bashing on a nub w/o a bike" I used to own a 636 and currently own a 2008 r6 so i know how they respond. The 636 pulls a lot harder down low, but the ycc-i update in the 08 r6 SCREAMS in the mid/upper rpm range now. If 636 kept his front tire down it would've been better launch, still decent, but good job

With a stock 2008 ZX-6R and a YZF-R6 you're getting roughly the same performance. The R6 is known for having a slightly slower 1st gear, but in the same light it is also the first stock 600cc bike to reach a top speed over 170 mph. I have never driven a ZX-6R so I cannot personally comment on any problems it might have. Either way, my advice, go with whichever style you like, becasue the performance is never really that different between models until you start adding aftermarket parts.

look it up, the 636 is the best handling and highest rated 60cc class sportbike there is. Get a 2006 zx6r, top speed of 186mph and a stock 1/4 mile time in the very low 11's. With minor tweakin like headers, and soem ecu stuff, you can easily make that bike a 10 second ride and waste a lot 1000 cc bikes out there!!!

Although i do ride one of these and agree its the best 600cc bike in its class ever made top speed is not 186!!! Your speedo must be way off plus the speedo get off about 10 to 15 stock at top speeds anyway so maybe in the 160s somewhere cause i dont have a speedo healer.
