  • wait, at 00:15 is Japanese, at 00:32 it's English...?

  • Best song in the game, hands down.

  • Just when I thought Zelda lost it's luster for me I go and play Skyward Sword and get enchanted all over again. Then I come back and look at this game and remember how enchanting it was. I don't care what anyone says about the visuals they are fantastic! Man gamecube was so underrated. If someone asked me If I wanted a PS2 or gamecube. No competition it would be a gamecube along with Wind Waker, Sunshine, Metroid Prime 1 & 2, Melee, Animal Crossing, Luigi's Mansion, Pikmins..Eh not enough room..

  • My personal favorite Zelda game. I remember people hating on Wind Waker either for its art style or for the tedious sailing, and every single one of them were declaring that Twilight Princess was going to be miles better... The funny thing is, when they realized how much of a disappointment Twilight Princess was, and replayed Wind Waker several years later, they began to appreciate how much of a good game Wind Waker really and actually is.

  • @DanielLadson yup i totally agree i aked a few people do you perfer gameplay to graphics you would be surprised how many of each, as for me i like that he looks soooo realistic but if the game is beaten in just a few hours oh well but damn he looks good

  • @SlayerxLeo354 If you look at your ceiling, it will show all the fucks I am giving when you are reading this.

  • If you like this track you should search for "The Settlers 4 - Maya Theme 3". In some ways is similar to Dragon Roost Island Theme.

  • I love this song, the best in WIND WAKER and i love WIND WAKER >.<U

  • beautiful song......just beautiful

  • One guy said he wanted this played at his funeral.

That would bring up the mood. Everybody would be singing and dancing...

    That would be interesting.

  • I listen to this on cruise ships.

  • Wind Waker = best music in the Zelda series, bar none.

  • @SilverAxe13 Agreed.

  • Gerudo Valley is to Ocarina, as Dragon Roost Island is to Wind Waker

  • @afatsweatyman lol I was just thinking the very same thing! you could also very well add Twilight Princess' "Hidden village" to the list :)

  • @afatsweatyman I find Gerudo Valley to be extremely over-rated, It's still great stuff don't get me wrong, but I feel people give it a little too much praise.

  • @afatsweatyman That should be an SAT question.

  • song 10/10

    epicness 20000000000000000000000000000000/10

  • Thank god this song made it into Brawl.

  • Wow, this reminds me so much of Spirit Tracks, what with the Pipes and whatnot. :D

  • KING K WUZ HERE 2011

  • Beating the game made me sad because I knew no Zelda game would ever be quite that awesome. Perfect music, story (mostly), gameplay and graphics.

  • Beating the game made me sad because I knew no Zelda game would ever be quite that awesome.

  • Ahh, yes. One of my favorite pieces of music within the Zelda series.

  • pyro, you have good taste in VGM.

  • ahhh.... lifts my spirits

  • Sorry for the double post, my connection was being slow.

  • its really really hard to pick a favorite zelda there's so many classics in the series that kick ass

  • Greatest Zelda BGM EVER!

  • Love it!^^

  • Happy 8th anniversary, Wind Waker. I'm glad I got and beat WW by the time it came out. It has an outstanding and original soundtrack. My older cousin always teased me because I played this game. "You're too old to play this shit!". Shut up! This was one of the best games of 2003. Agreed?

  • Ocarina of Time, Link to the Past, Twilight Princess, and Majora's Mask were all better. Still an awesome game, this is my favorite song from the game other than when you got attacked at sea. But, that's not saying too much.

  • @EvilApple567 I agree with all except Majora's mask. That game was terrible, boring, and way too overrated. If it didn't have the same graphics engine as OOT it wouldn't even be mentioned in the same sentence. And I love Zelda games, just not Majoras mask.

  • @charger619c I just didn't like the length of it. It was too short for sure. Beat it about 8 hrs.

I just played Majora's Mask about March 2010 off the Wii Virtual Console, hesitated for a couple months before playing it... but MAN I LOVED IT! I've beat it about 20 times since then lol

  • @charger619c Majoras mask was a classic there were only three bad Zelda game, Faces of Evil, Wand of Gamelon and Zelda's Adventure

  • @philiptrekie If you count those, you'll have to include the Tingle games. I had Rosy Rupeeland once, and it was the most tedious game I've ever played. All you did was walk round and look for things. There wasn't even any background music! Oh, and having money as your health coupled with the fact that no-one talks to you unless you pay them, which means talking to people hurts you. Bullshit.

  • @MetroidCommando well that is very true...that one is mentioned even LESS than the triforce of shit

  • @philiptrekie I've actually beaten all three of them, though it was the most unrewarding Zelda experience ever. Let us just say that curiosity is a dangerous thing, especially in gaming. I can sum them up in two words: IT BURNS!

  • @philiptrekie I've actually beaten all three of them, though I daresay it was the most unrewarding Zelda experience ever. Curiosity is a rather dangerous thing in the gaming world. I can sum them up in two words: IT BURNS!

  • @charger619c You're saying MM is overrated? It's one of the most underrated games, if anything. As for my opinion, I really like it, however, the 3-day thing really put me off. What I most like about zelda games is that you can explore as much as you want, but in MM, if you do that then you just have to start over because you don't have forever.

  • @wwTheTrueWarioww Lol yes having do restart a temple or just quests in general because you didn't make the time limit and then had to go back and technically lose all progress was BS imo even if it was intentional. Also how you actually save your game is one of the most retarded way to save I've ever heard of in my life. You'd think those flaws would actually break the game, but it really doesn't somehow. Guess there can never be a generally accepted Nintendo-made "bad" Zelda. :)

  • @wwTheTrueWarioww I don't really htink it's that overrated anymore because I hear so many people saying it'stheir favorite. OoT will always be by far my favorite with WW in second, but MM is great. My problem had basically nothing to do with the three day sytem. It was more that it was just too short of a game and I didn't like how pretty much every npc was the same as OoT with a different name.

  • Best WW tune!

  • Wind Waker has the most beauty musics and the grafic style is awesome, i don`t understand people ho dislike this game because of it, The Skyward Sword will return this style and i will buy it for sure!

  • To me this is the best song ever made. It's simple and so uplifting.

  • Ah . . . seriously, this would make such good celebration music.

  • This is why I need to learn the fife.

  • yeah i thought this sounds familiar, and i was right. im hearing the music when i opened the snesgx channel on the wii. then i was like "aint this zelda?"

  • I prefer Wind Waker over Twilight Princess, 'cause WW surprised me in a positive way. When it was announced, I said: "WTF! A Zelda game can't look like that". But when I got it in 2003, I just loved its stunning, non-realistic, but beautiful graphics, and the sea feature. Too bad it was too short, though.

On the other hand, I expected much more from TP. It's a great game, but it brought no innovation at all. It's just an Oot wannabe.

  • I used to travel to THIS ISLAND just to listen to the music.

  • @MultiNerve haha, me too

  • This beautiful game was way to short. Did take a while to collect all the carvings with the camera though. =)

  • who else wishes there was a loop feature for videos on here?

  • @jts360180 I agree, Youtube really needs a repeat button. Still don't know why it doesn't :/

  • @Alaxas18 possibly to avoid videos getting too many views? idk, that's always been my thought too

  • @nitromick122 Could be, but I've always thought the views count for each time u open up the video link or refresh it, not sure though.

  • @Alaxas18 In the meantime, you can type "repeat" after "youtube" in the address.

  • @mutehero7 Oh thanks! I never knew about this, this will serve useful, much appreciated. :)

  • let me just make this clear... graphics aren't everything in games. In fact, to make a good game doesn't necessarily mean that you have to have HD and realistic graphics all the time! Wind waker is a prime example to what i just said there

  • This game was GREAT! Day I Purchased I was little but wining because I the step from OoT to the TOON style was big. But def a GREAT game with an unique style!

  • my favorite song from any game right here...

and to all of you WW haters, it's definitely a different style of gameplay, but i thought the story was different as well. this game got me a lot more emotionally attached in ways i didnt find in the other LoZ games. just my 2 cents..

  • @briroths Agreed. Wind Waker actually showed Link's emotions and thoughts, you could see when he was happy, you could see when he was sad. It felt like he wasn't a robot anymore, like other games.

  • Wind Waker has always been, for me, the best LoZ game. For all the excellence that is the rest of the LoZ, WW and it's atmosphere stand out slightly to me among the other games of the series, and all of gaming as a whole, as something I've failed to find most anywhere else.

  • this is my favorite Zelda game (after OoT that is). But still it is an amazing game with beautiful graphics, a stunning soundtrack and an engaging story. I'd be willing to play it at any hour of any day till the end of time!

  • It Isint OoT But that doesnt discredit WW from being a priceless gem in the Zeldaverse!! LoZ is LoZ no matter the look DEAL with it!

  • @YoyoMammogram Except for the CD-i games. *shudders*

  • I got into a zelda mood one time and was like why not pla windwaker...5 minutes later I wass balling my eyes out watching the beginning credit/intro......I was just thinking of memories...mhmhmhmh I love this game.

  • Art + music= best zelda game ever. btw ocean staffcredits and wind temple r just equally awasome.

  • Awesome composition... I agree with the ones that consider it one of the best (if not THE ONE) songs made for a Zelda game. Koji Kondo and Staff, thanks for this joy.

  • Zelda has always been catroonish. Just look up the old artwork, Zelda I , II , III , IV.

OoT was the game what did something new.

Windwaker took up the old style, and as we know, when you ''convert'' cartoon to 3D.. what does thou get? Yes; cel shaded graphics.

The people who whine about it are either naiv and dumb, or just aren't true Zelda fans.

  • @mirrorpiece i don't think cartoonish, zelda artwork always attempted to reach matureness, and games too, i prefer thinking that way, because if so, wind waker would be the game who introduced this style, no matter if it is tp graphics or whatever, wind waker will always be beautiful

  • Could this be... the best song in any zelda game?

  • @happywazaa

    ummm.... no?

  • @happywazaa no shutup

  • @happywazaa for me it will ALWAYS be ------- >>> /watch?v=iOfXM7gFXso

  • when you talk to medli she looks at link's dingaling

  • Upon this games release I was turned off by the cell animation and didn't consider it canon. Now with all the praise I've seen I'm really becoming interested in it.

  • @jwild611 Give it a try, you won't regret it.

  • @jwild611 I actually thought the cel-shading was a big part of the best part of the game: its mood. This is and will (hopefully not :P) be my favorite Zelda game for a long time :)

  • @jwild611 Believe me, even though the Cell-Shading can be pretty annoying for those of us that have grown attached to the old-style graphics, the game itself is extremely good, both gameplay and storywise. I would go for it. I got it at a rip-off price, but would gladly pay double that price knowing how good the thing is.

  • You can thumb me down for all i care but i like this game better than OoT!

  • @Ice0ace u cant compare, but i agree that i have so many good memories with wind waker, it was a definately better game than twilight princess... but Ocarina of time started it all so we still gotta respect it :P

  • @daviaker I still think TP is the best Zelda game. And respect is something else than loving or liking

  • @daviaker Ocarina of Time certainly did not "start it all".

  • @JonnyJinx04 Yah, LOZ did!

  • @JonnyJinx04 well technically not, but it got the highest rating on every game review sites compared to all its predecessors. Atleast for my generation that is born at the end of 80s or start of the 90s did not grow up with 8 bit, someone had super nintendo, but i think most had nintendo 64 and playstation, and the first game that introduced me to the zelda world was ocarina of time hehe. But i guess the older guys got more experience with the series than me.

  • @daviaker I like to think A Link to the Past "started" Zelda as we know it. I mean, ALttP basically gave us a lot of the famous Zelda themes (Zelda's lullaby, Ganon's theme, Hyrule Castle) and of course, started off the sort of plot progression we see in most Zelda games (3 things to collect, get Master Sword, collect some more stuff).

But I see what you mean. OoT was definitely very innovative and indeed, no other Zelda game has emulated its critical success.

  • actually yes this game was friggen awesome exept some borin parts which every videos game have. but still this game is imho the 2 best of zelda... it cant be ranked superior than Oot just cant

  • I found it quite annoying how people were angry about the graphics in this game. I mean what kind of person would hate a game because of it's visuals? Personally I think graphics is only a small part of a good game.

  • fast paced, just the way i like it

  • On gameplay, this game doesn't score too high, but it's still great. However, what makes this game so superb is the fact that it has some of the best music in a zelda game yet, and I wish they were able to bring that over to some of the other zelda games. Even phantom hourglass and spirit tracks didn't have the same great feel as this, even though the style and all that was based on Wind Waker. Anyways, thanks for the upload.

  • 8 persons could'nt defeat ghoma

  • A sad moment...I actually saw the first pics of this game and I did the unthinkable...I doubted Shigeru! -_- How deeply humbled I felt after I'd played the game

    GOMENNASAI -_-

As retribution, I will slay 8 versions of Ganon who have all disliked this vid

  • one of the best 'modern' zelda themes ever, period. its coolness strikes me everytime i listen to it.

  • i love how this is easily inspired by the music of the andes

  • Andes' Song ^^

  • Hahehehe. The way that the guitar plays so subtly with the flute reminds me of my home... You'd hear people playing songs like this in the market when you went into Cartajena.

  • whuaaaaaaaaaaaa WHUUUAAA LUV <333333333333333

  • Did anyone else die a little from nostalgia?

WW will always be my very favorite zelda.

    OoT following close behind.

  • @HcOtaku1337

    Agreed Completely.

  • best zelda game

  • Wind Waker had a big impact on me, as far as Zelda gaming goes, not sure about you guys. I was mind-blown by all the different character interaction, especially the enemy AI. The music was very lively and enjoyable, the cel-shaded graphic style was something different for a Zelda game, and overall, I thought the story was good and well played out. I can see why people might not have liked it, though. It was very cartoony, and most Zelda gamers had a hard time adapting to the new style.

  • The music on this island made me wish there was more to do so I could stay.

  • I love how character-focused this game is. Nintendo takes the time to develop a good story and makes you care about the characters. Not to mention some of the cutscenes are hilarious.

  • I really love this track a lot. Has anybody heard the Mario & Zelda Live version of this track? Man... it's one of my favorite top arranged songs....

  • @Greenboom98 amazing song

  • I really enjoyed dragon roost island. I really enjoyed the bird type people, they were all so nice ^_^

Man I love this game :] Great tune!

  • probably the best track from Wind Waker. i love this game <3

  • Nintendo did the right thing putting this in Brawl.

  • Love the flute :)

  • Fantastic theme. And of course this list couldn't be ranked. Think about this: the list has been going for over 2 years. If he likes music from a game released since he started it or discovers an older song, he couldn't rank it properly. Like, what if he found a new number one, two, three or any other number he has already posted? Any new song would have to be by default his 600-something favorite at this point.

  • This is my all-time favorite LoZ game. I know I'm not alone!

  • right, ur not. POWER TO WIND WAKER!

  • @d3nyd I would say its the only true sequel to the almighty OoT

  • @CrazyKing89 It's among many.

  • @d3nyd It's way better than Twilight Princess, that's for sure!

  • @d3nyd you're not, it's my favorite too

  • @d3nyd and NecroVMX You're not alone. It's my favorite, and it's the favorite of the legendary LPer, chuggaaconroy.

  • @d3nyd My favorite character in wind waker is (by far) Medli! i think she's hot...!

  • @Bunearylover7 Lolli lol

  • @isortaforgot whats funny about it...? just 'cause Medli isn't real, doesn't mean I can't help but have feeling for her..... would u think its funny if u had feelings for a fictional game charater...?

  • @Bunearylover7 Í kinda understand, I thought Komali was very pretty, but not to the point of being in LOVE with him...

  • @Bunearylover7 welcome to being an otaku in japan, where most women are out for money, and not love.

great soundtrack, though i didnt think WW was that great of a zelda game, it was way too easy, and much more tedious than i would like. OoT is still the best in my opinion then its LA and OoS/OoA with TP after that, with LttP, then MM, i would put WW under MM. MM was ruined because of the time limit, but then the overworld theme brought back memories.

  • @d3nyd of course not,it's my favorite too. It's the favorite of anyone who's got great taste or has spent time on the open sea ;-)

  • @d3nyd Honestly it's so hard to pick a favorite LoZ game. I refuse to officially declare one.

  • @d3nyd You are not alone.

  • @d3nyd It's below MM and OoT for me, but this music seems to hold a greater nostalgic factor than those two games. And I beat it last year!

  • @d3nyd Ocarina all the way! sorry

  • @d3nyd A link to the past, ocarina of time and majora's mask. the rest are either not as good and/or an attempt to copy one of the 3 I mentioned (twilight princess).

  • so peaceful, I never did beat this game

  • Comment removed

  • He has said before that they aren't ranked.

  • ...

It's just not ranked. It's just numbered in the order he has been uploading them.

    Go to his profile page.

"THIS LIST IS IN NO ORDER AT ALL!"

  • True, but at the same time, you can't believe everything you hear.

He did say the Wild Arms music brought him into the world of VGM, so he uploaded a Wild Arms song at #1. Within the first 25 uploads, there are 3 Wild Arms songs.

As humans, we really can't be unbiased, but he's tried his hardest to spread out the songs.

  • you know that this is no rating right?

  • yes i know it..but,, i cant..understand..why:(

  • Well, it sort of goes like this: He doesn't know his favorite Video Game Song, but he knows his Favorites. And that is what he puts up.

  • 'coz if he did put 'em in order every fanboy in existence would come on youtube and bitch like the idiot fanboys they are.

  • that is a fine reason^^

  • So cutesy, just doesn't have that epic adventure feeling.

  • Sometimes when I played the game I would just stop and listen to the music. Loved it.

  • I love this song

  • Wind Waker was the Absolute best Zelda game in my book. I loved the cel-based design.

    *SPOILER*

    Ganon was fairly easy,

    but Puppet Ganon was Hard.

    The ending was pure genious!

Plus, there are two sequals so far.

But it tickes me off that people think Nintendo is running out of ideas when there is a train on Spirit Tracks *sequal*.

Nintendo is giving us a new idea, something other than a boat.

Phantom Hourglass *sequal* was a very easy Zelda game.

  • but the ocean king temple was a bitch. i hope they don't use it anymore. also, we don't know if spirit tracks is related, it just uses the same style. minish cap used the same style, but was unrelated.

  • I totally agree on the Ocean King Temple,

but So far, Spirit Tracks uses Phantoms, which where used in PH, Spirit Tracks is probably related since Nintendo usually wouldn't dump us without a end to that story.

  • oh right, forgot about the phantoms. still, it could just be the same timeline, not related. or it's another alternate dimension story (hope not.)

  • You could be right.

We'll just see when it comes out.

  • I also sailed to Dragon Roost Island just for the music.

  • I sailed to this island only to hear the song, never did that in a game except in OOT for the Gerudo Valley theme.

  • I, too, think Wind Waker is a loathsome game, but I love this music.

  • wind waker will always be my fav zelda game as well as a link to the past

  • This song deserves to be in a high position in this ranking. One of my favorites in TLOZ series.

  • The songs aren't really ranked, it's just a list of good songs with the number being the post number.

  • That's just fine. Thanks for the message :D

  • Really love this track! You should listen to the Mario & Zelda Big Band Live version of this track. One of my favorites of WW.

  • My favorite Zelda, barely beating out Link's Awakening and Majora's Mask.

  • i loved that theme i think ill buy that game again because i lost it :(

  • wind waker seems exactly like phantom hourglass its cool, can some one tell me for what console is?

  • Gamecube :)

  • It's the other way around otherwise :P Hourglass came after Wind waker.

  • nah, my favorite theme from this game is the theme from Jalhalla's fight, seriously fast and slihtly creepy as well. Still, this theme is amazing as well.

  • my favorite is this, then its molgera!!! ^-^

  • This game has an awesome OST. Dragon Roost Island, Molgera, the Great Sea, Hyrule Castle... Those are all awesome themes.

  • This song just has such a catchy tune

  • THERE IT IS, glad to see this song in the Best VGM collection, its very nice. Personally, my favorites are easily any zelda and final fantasy songs, best music in those games in my opinion

  • best song in the game

  • Yes! I am now convinced you have fantastic taste in VG music, haha.

  • Soundtracks today have a tendency to rely too much on orchestration and end up having completely uninteresting basic melodies, but this song was actually inspiring and beautiful.

    I'm glad.

  • I don't know if it was just me, but i think that Wind Waker was superior that Twilight Princess in terms of music and replay value...

  • The combat was certainly a lot more satisfying.

  • I didn't like the "Cartoon Poof" effect when something dies... OOT Rules!

  • I'm talking about the jumping and parrying, and how satisfying it was to slash through something.

  • Ohh yeah, the targeting engine was superior!
