  • @motocrossmaniac9 YES! But not just a regular cleaning like this video shows but I have always disassembled my new guns completley so that I'm able to get all of that factory greese and grime that is built up in their

  • is thaat a mossberg 500

  • That a maverick 88?

  • Do you recommend cleaning my shotgun before I shoot it even when its brand new out of the box.

  • great vid man, thanks for the tips, just got a shotgun and ive never cleaned it before, and it needs it. Looked up how to clean a shotgun and ran across your vid...thanks for the help!!! ny general rule of thumb for learning about guns, if the guy has a southern accent...PAY ATTENTION!!!! thanks man

  • Great vid! I really need to clean my 870 except I am confused on how to remove the barrel. Any help appreciated!

  • some shotguns (at least mine) recommend not removing the choke when cleaning because you can push dirt into the threads when you're running your cleaner through the barrel. Just an FYI, good vid.

  • Wow this is a great vid thanks for posting you helped me big time because i just started hunting :)

  • Thank you!

  • Nice mossberg 500!

  • Great video bro...real nice to see that someone respects there guns

  • Whoremonger is my favorite Sleeping Giant song. They just tweeted this video!

  • Sleeping Giant!!

  • i used a T shirt with fishing stringer rope i had lating around and i just pull it threw like a bore snake after i brushed it and its tight and u can get it in one pull it looks reallt greeat

  • I a shotgun but I cannot figure out what the choke is, can you enlighten my ignorance?Do all shotguns have a "choke"?

  • @enchilada01 If you find out, please tell me!

  • Great video, it was a great help. I only have handguns and my next purchase is a 12g pump. I only use Ballistol to clean and lube my guns, the best stuff in the world. Thanks for the tutorial, it was really helpful, I appreciate you takin the time.

  • Wow, I'm a first time gun owner and the guy at the shop told me I didn't have to clean the gunvery often, I thought that seemed odd, so came on youtube and everyone here who actually shoots says to clean each time, guess who I'm ging to listen to. Thanks for the video. Have only shot mine twice and put about 40 rounds through it, I hope I haven't messed anythign up not cleaning it after each use. Are there any dangers with putting the barrel back on if you never did it before?

  • @RightWingCon81 You'll be fine man, as long as you didn't fire a hundred rounds through it and wait 6 months it's no biggie. Just make sure you clean her and maintain it well from here on

  • @Nerevar1990 thanks, I actually cleaned it a few days ago, she wasn't very dirty at all, but i greased it and she's doing well. One question, I did rack the slide while the barrel was off and the manuel says not to do that, it operates fine(haven't fired it since cleaning) I don't know how that could damage it, but I read it after, i also removed the barrel without putting the slide half way, doubt that's a big deal, but just don't want this thing blowing my hands off.

  • @RightWingCon81 That won't hurt any, or at least not even in the ballpark to make it blow up or something. The guy here racked the slide to get the lubrication through the internals too. And if it's a remington, Mossy, winchester, benelli or ithaca, you couldn't break that gun if you wanted to lol

  • @Nerevar1990 thanks so much dude, I really appreciate the help to the noob.

  • Cool vid bro with a lot of info! I would like to know how can I name my shotgun/rifle? I don't know what it is...it just has some Chinese writing on it with some number on the side. That being said i was trying to figure out how to clean the wood and metal because the wood is dirty and the metal is rusty?

  • @BLACKMAMBA52588 You can clean the wood with any kind of wood cleaner.

As far as the rust, you can use quadruple ought steel wool with some solvent

on it. It shouldn't take off the blueing.

  • @BLACKMAMBA52588 call it bruce lee fire dragon

  • Thumbs down for the truck being gmc.Ford all the way

  • @chadreedfan221 thats funny

  • good vid bud

  • hey man good vid. i know you use rem oil but what kinda lube was that?

  • @ibanezkid07 Outer's brand.

  • Thanks; helpful.

  • here is a link of a good youtube video that shows you how to further break down your Mossberg 500 12 gauge for cleaning. I have a feeling whatever started up at 2:21 may have a flowmaster 40 series on it. First thoughts were 2.8/3.1 but the startup sounds like something beefier. What was it starting up?

  • @grabmygoobers My bro's ford lightning

  • @salemhodson Hi, I am the guy in this video. I would recommend that you clean your gun in this manner every time you shoot it. Some people say that you don't need to, but I say why not keep it as clean as possible. And yes you should clean your receiver but with the amount that you say you shoot, it doesn't have to be done near as often. Thank you for your comment and let us know if you have any more questions or if this wasn't clear enough.

  • I found this video very helpful.

I just bought my first shotgun. It's a Mossburg 535. It comes with two barrels, one being a rifled (sp?) barrel. It was just packed with filthy gunk. Using a bore brush, patches and Rem Oil helped, but I'm still not happy. How do you recommend I clear the debree out?

  • @gvhorwitz Thank you for your question. I am the guy in the video. Sorry it took so long to answer your question. One thing I would recommend for you is a bore snake. All you need to do is spray some rem oil in both ends of your barrel and then run the bore snake through the barrel. This should clean up any gunk that is left behind after the initial cleaning. Thank you again for your comment.

  • guns are cool. you ever shot a person?

  • i got a 20g. and 12g. benelli novas and i wanted to no if it was necessary to remove the bolt to clean it or just do it with ur method? and wat was the spray stuff u were using called i couldnt rlly hear the name

  • It is called rem oil. Remington makes it. You can get it at and sporting goods store and even wal mart probably.

  • Thank you for your video It helps out Alot and makes me feel more secure that my fire arm is clean and ready to use.

  • Great video, but I think iu will stick to my way. I fully disamble and clean everythning then reassemble. I just feel that it gets cleaner that way.

  • Thank you. I have basic cleaned my .22 and 20 gage several times now but I still let videos like yours walk me through it.

What is your opinion of a bore snake? Are they worthwhile?

  • Yes, they are very worth while. In my opinion they actually help get your barrel cleaner. Thanks for your question and if you need anything else, let us know.

Thanks and good hunting, B&C Outdoors.

  • wat is ur method of cleaning your .22 i just do it this way do u take everything apart? and then clean it? thanks

  • Thanks man, nice video but one question. dont you have to dry the extra oil on the choke side? (after you put the choke in) Shotgun shooter from Iceland

  • Comment removed
