I would actually like to put my two cents worth in by saying (possibly incorrectly) that those are fake. Perhaps made by WotC as a collectors set, but they are not original (the backs are too bright) and the ONLY black lotus worth that much is beta set. Cute trick, but try it with more experienced players and show an original. My apologies if i am mistaken.

black lotus is a good card because any good magic player knows 3 mana in the begining can give you such a head start your enemy is done for. btw black lotus was also one of the cards that beat an opponent on 1 first turn.

@Nickolakis21aek Well its just the best mana card there is. For black you have `dark ritual` that cost one mana to play and you get 3 black mana in return. Lotus cost 0 to put it into play. Secondly, black lotus is extremely rare. Everything that is rare and popular at the same time is bound to cost alot of money, even a card..

@TheInformativeGamer You can get lotus' that are 2000 and lower, most of them are severely played. Good condition lotus' start at 3k-4k if you're lucky. They often get appraised at many times that, depending on the edges and the ink left on the card.

and phyrexius, my point was more about if it was fake or the real card. the video would be identical either way. most good fake black lotuses are printed on genuine blank magic cards so you couldn't tell anyways... and saying they are fake with no way of knowing... what difference does it make.
