  • Wish I could play like that

  • Where can I get music for that Euphonium part? That was amazing! It brought a smile to my face as soon as it started. Job well done!

  • He's the master of euph tone, in my book. Still I'd like this better without the synth bass.

  • isn't my idol, but i like him.

because he plays euphonium very well

I love euphonium but i have a whistle

"trombone de marcha" or "trombonito" in portuguese^^

    like^^

  • Where was this performed?

  • where can I buy this sheet music for piano and euphonium?

  • Beautiful

  • it's calming me down right now!

  • where can i find the sheet music for this?

  • @Cathybee4321

I've been browsing myself, but can not find an arrangement that is even close. If someone finds it, please let me know.

    Thanks!

  • David Childs got the swag

  • I like the music that you love and the tenderness which shows this music

  • Davis Childs, Brian Bowman, Stephean Mead, Dave Werden, asian guy. all are gods at the euphonium. they should be on Mt. Rushmore

  • 3 people played highbrass..

  • i think i just fell in love

  • daid childs is the most amazing euohonium player i have ever heard it is my dream i would pay any amount of moey to meet him and have a 5 minute lesson with him i astonishes me to se three dislikes to this video i cant see how anyoe could dislike a sound so beautiful!!!

  • Love this song

  • Dam I love his tone. Anybody have any advice on how to achieve such a dark sound? I'm a sophomore in college doing three hours of practice a day on my euph, always striving for the best sound possible, yet my sound is on-and-off when it comes to sounding dark. By now I was hoping to master that sound, but there must be something I'm missing...any suggestions?

  • Daviid will forever be my mentor till i die cos he has made me fall in love with the instrument i use to hate sooooooo much kudos to him

  • Daviid will forever be my mentor till i die cos he has made me fall in love with the instrument i use to hate sooooooo much kudos to him

  • nice theme conveys a great melody and peace ........

  • i play horn, trumpet, trombone, tuba, euphonium, baritone, clarinet, saxophone, and oboe. (horn is my main instrument) I'm only 12 now, and this man is my idle, my gleaming golden statue to look up to when im down, and he gives me hope for my future as a musician

  • @udienowisay .... that's the most pathetic thing I've ever heard.

  • @crytebow what hell are you talking about?

  • @udienowisay uh.. you.

  • @crytebow whys that?

  • @udienowisay you might play all those instruments, but you still cant spell "idol".

  • @The4fourEver lol, damn

  • Another brilliant perfommance captured on video above. David in a duet with Les Neish.

  • David Childs is a freaking awesome Euphonium player

  • There were 2 things that got me back into playing the Euphonium after I got bored of it, one was marching band, the other was listening to David Childs play Gabriel's Oboe, he is easily one of the best musicians I know and deffinitly one of the reasons I love the Euphonium as much as I do

  • everytime i need to practice, but don't want to, i listen to david childs. He is truly an inspiration to me.

  • Very Good

  • donde puedo encontrar la partitura de esta obra?

  • how to get the sheet music note?

  • what make is his euphonium? :)

  • @meziemoomoo he pays a York

  • omgashhh i kept replaying this!!!! helppp.

  • what kind of mouthpiece does he use?

  • sheet music plz for bass clef.

  • where can I find the sheet music of this song?

  • i wish i had mega speakers to fill my room with his awesome vibrato

  • Fantastic!!!

  • @fallenjedi1977 I wouldn't say it was to loud, as its a video the mic is picking up the sound equally from David and the pianist, if David was to stand the other side of the piano the sound wouldn't be aimed at the mic and the pianist would be almost unheard. If that made sense?

  • @TheCrayolaCrayon Was it really necessary to capitalise every word other than connectives?

  • @iRxMario Was it really necessary to misspell capitalize, also, they're called conjunctions.

  • @tyzon05 Actually I didn't misspell 'capitalise' it's the English spelling. Also they're conjunctions if you're American but I'm English therefore everything I have said up to now has been correct.

  • Is there any place I can get a copy of this arrangement? Great song, Great artist.

  • His euphonium is a compensated euphonium.. So his instrument will sound much better than the avg euphonium...if you have about 3k I'd buy one... What a difference!

  • @GQSHAUN Brah, it's not the euphonium that makes him sound like that. Sure, a better horn can allow you to have a better sound, but I could give him my school's cheap King euphonium and he'd still sound amazing.

  • @RobertCShepley Couldn't agree more. Alot of it is in the muscles in his face.

But, gotta admit it helps when you have that YEP842.. and that York... and a Besson.... ._.

  • @RobertCShepley For less experienced players though, a horn makes an enormous difference. I agree with you, but you can't deny what I said.

  • his euphonium makes a realy smooth sound how i do that ?

  • @MrComano PRACTICE ALOT

  • Wonderful Euphonium Player, wonderful song

  • beautiful

    show! euphonium! brasiil!

  • Have any of you ever heard of the Incrediable Euphonium Proffesor Dr. Mark Dickman? he works at University of North Florida, look him up

  • Some day I want to be Just like him! my Idol David Childs!

  • This is pure class playing bravo

  • beautiful !

  • I want to play this !!!!

  • I'm practising this with my dad, He's playing the euphonium and I'm playing the piano. It sounds really beautifull, but ofcours not as good as David, he's the best ever!!

  • He plays the notes, but raises no hairs on my neck... If you knowwhat I mean.Everything he does. And he certainly plays everything in place. Maybe a little too perfect? No musical tension? The whole story told out loud in the first 10 bars? I've heard him live a couple o'times, and its very nice. But I get SO much more out of listening to players like Tormod Flaten.. THATS telling music through an instrument.

  • everyone has his own opinion, But in my vision: David Childs is THE euphonium player" who raise hairs on my neck";-)...do you have the CD from David"hear my prayer"...that is one of the best CD's i have!

  • i have a signed version of it. He played with my band on my 16th Birthday last year and he signed my Euphonium, my CD, gave me a card and signed my big badge lol

  • @jboorf i have a signed version of it. He played with my band on my 16th Birthday last year and he signed my Euphonium, my CD, gave me a card and signed my big badge lol

  • @jboorf I agree with you David Childs is a wonderful player as to hairs on the back of neck I get the same too

  • @powerspade Agreed.

Why would anyone raise rabbits on the back of their neck ?

  • @jboorf you mean "their" not "his"own opinion.contrary to populat beief girls can kick ass at the euphoniu m also,im an 18yeaar old euphonium player who has made it to state as a soloist and made the all region band,im better than any guy euphonium player that ive come across,so yea

  • he has incredible tone but your right tormod flaten actually plays with tons of emotion

  • i'm not sure where you're going with that comment. Perhaps you're being slightly too harsh in that respect. The great thing about music is that as long as you are making music, there's no wrong. He's definately making music, but probably doesn't exaggerate as much as Tormod Flaten, but that's just my guess...i'm gonna go compare now if i can find him. You can't say that he's not making music, which is in effect what you are saying...

  • he sounds so dreamy. ^_^

  • Wish i knew the notes for this song...

    It sounds so beautiful

  • Try it by ear.

  • i can play this

  • Yeah, but can you emit the emotion Childs gives? Not many can....

  • And I bet you sound the same, right?

  • @cmb138 lol

  • I don't see why you people " thumbs down" when people say they can play an instrument as well a professional or put emotion into playing. I mean really Your that petty to put down good players.

  • @cmb138 seriously i dont think thats a bad comment

  • that is some sweet tone.

  • i got this for euphonium

  • where would i find the sheet music for free?

  • the soloist (david childs) starts on a g .....

  • its f in b.c. well at least i learned my first scale starting at b flat so yea...

  • and if u learned it were the first note is g then just raise everything by one note

  • can i get the notes for that?????????

  • bs are flat and e's are flat ok... here are the notes

    f b b b b c b b a ,(rest) b c c c c d c c b, f d d d d e d d c, a b c c c c e d dflat d, f g g g g b g g f, b a a b a b a c, high f high f e g, e e d g , b b b b b a d c b,*piano*

ill give u that so far im sorry if i wasnt clear enough but thats all i could do i hope i helped

  • lol all you had to say was key of Bb...I think he would have figured it out :-p but thanks for the post :) you did a good job figuring this out

  • ok thanks

  • hey guys i am looking for this piece but cant find it any where if some one nows a place to get that would be amazing.......david childs has such a beautiful sound =)

  • Not sure if it is published, but try World of Brass:)

  • Superb and such a gorgeous melody

  • haha hey guys im back and now i can play this piece XD

  • hey wat time signiture is this piece in?

  • 4 quarters bar

  • Thanks Jantubaman =]

  • dang im trying to play this piece but im in 6th grade band so i can barly go up to the high "f"

  • O it took me a while too, it's really easy if you practice the siren. A gliss from with just a distance of a fifth or sixth, with just the mpiece. THEN you do the exact same thing through the horn, you'll get up to higher registers EASILY. just don't interupt your airstream!!

  • nice job

  • love it!

  • A Beautiful piece

  • Can i have the score pls.....

  • simple beautiful

  • His last Bb(C) is flat^^ And that's the only thing that might be a considered as a "mistake" in this performance... He's pure quality!

  • he started the note on the correct pitch. it was only at the very end of the note that he went like 1/20th bit flat. mabie it was intentional? idk, im still in highschool so i dont know too much

  • right on man!

  • i have a big question. How do you play with good tone quality? i been playing euphonium for about 2 years and have gotten nowhere on tone. im just so sad that i don't know what to do.

  • listening to what good euphonium players sound like . . . and longtones

    longtones

    longtones

    and more longtones

It takes a while before you start to develop a (or your) characteristic tone. by simply inquiring about it, you doing the right thing.

  • ty errorom3ssage ur the best.

  • First thing to improve tone is improve breathing. The book called Breathing Gym from sam Pilafian and Pat sheridan is a good start. Second intonation very important play a lot with tuner and listen while your playing with others forget the tuner then. but when you are studying play with tuner. other tips are: Fingering hand relaxed but under control, hold the bell of the instrument slightly forward, play with wet lips, hold the lips together, lips forward like kissing, and whistle is also import

  • stfu! i bet u hes like 100000000 times better then u and ur just jealous. oh and if u think ur so good why arnt u the champion euphonium player in a country? Huh?

  • I like David Cilds very much as a player i am just trying to help people. srry for that ...

  • ohh hey then sorry bout that mean reply =/

  • the best euphonium player i have ever seen

  • is his fourth valve forward facing?

  • nope its on the side

  • He has a main tuning slide trigger on the front, that's what you're seeing.

  • dang it, every time i listen to him, i feel like crap cause i cant play a fourth that well. yet i listen anyway

  • maestro!!

  • listening to this it's obvious why it's called a euphonium

  • Well who cares what bloody key it's in it's good and thats what matters

  • This tune is so sad, wonderful really.

  • "amazing sound" every time when i listen to david childs, i think that.

  • does anyone know where i can get the sheet music for this song in bass clef?

  • no but when you find it send it to me lol

  • haha shoots same to you

  • can anyone find it in treble so i cna play it on my tenor horn?

  • Such amazing tone on the high notes...jealous lol

  • David Childs is the best euphonium plaier

  • He is fantastic, he's very graceful and has a beautiful tone. But the BEST? I don't think there is a "the BEST" He is definitely one of my idols and I strive to play like him.

  • Not only is he AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!.... he's ridiculously good looking.

  • this is my favourite hymn ever especially played by david brilliant

  • It is not a hymn but a Welsh ballad about a lost love Myfanwy.

  • The sweetest Euphonium sound ive heard ..........this guy rocks...

  • AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

    amazing :]

  • very nice played expert of reading without music got a very big tallent

  • i agree he is a fantastic player, one of the best undoubtedly however reading without the music is not as difficult as u may think, it is simply down to how you learn the piece

  • maginificooooooo!!!

  • simplemente xvr!!!

  • man where can i get this sheet music?!?!?!?!

  • write it by ear dude. its not that hardd. keys in B flat.

  • even the piano
