@ ZanyZoey - 100 percent CORRECT re the use of this term by scammers to fool the uneducated. The public really needs to EDUCATE themselves as to the breed standard and what constitutes a responsible breeder BEFORE they support bad breeders.
@MsNaniiXD - Nope, no troll here. Oh, and attempting to identify my comment as "spam" doesn't change the truth either. I am simply someone who is not ignorant of the Chihuahua breed and is sick of seeing Greeders using marketing ploys such as "teacup" to try and get more money for substandard quality Chihuahuas. Raise your hands everybody if you have seen an 8 lb "teacup" Chihuahua! Way too many poor quality Greeders continuing to pump out way to many poor quality puppies & taking advantage.
NEVER BUY A TEACUP CHIHUAHUA! The breeders don't feed them enouth and when they are sold they get sugarwater so they have more spunk so the buyer wont know the puppy is sick. Also its not healthy for a dog to be that tiny. the brains are to bigfor the head so they have headaches all the time. they have waterheads, not fully develloped organs, die before the age of 4 years becouse of health issues. Teacups don't exist. only for puppy mill breeders. normal breeders wont sell a tiny pup like that.
@17jesusochoa Many of the "teacup" puppies have low blood sugar (hypoglycemia). Your puppy should be eating about 5 meals a day, and you need to buy Karo Syrup or NutriCal to keep with you at all times incase your puppy starts to get weak. If you miss the signs, the puppy can go into shock, comatose, or die.
I have a 4.5 lb longhair Chihuahua that I feed Orijen. It won the best pet food of the year award twice in a row. Google "Orijen champion pet foods."
Beware of breeders that advertise "teacup," "micro," "pocket-sized" (etc.) sizes of dogs! There is no official recognition for dogs of these sizes. Chihuahuas are considered Chihuahuas as long as they are under 6 lbs, according to the American Kennel Club (AKC). Smaller is NOT always better. These tiny puppies are actually born premature by impregnating the mother twice at different times; all the puppies are born at the same time. Most of these premies don't survive their first year of life.
TOO FUCKING SHORT!!!! WANT MORE!!!
