Yes they are, a slightly poppier version of, and that's hardly surprising when you consider who Parachutes are, but I don't really see what that has to do with this, though, to be honest. My point was that Sigur Rós are genius, and Coldplay are abysmal, so they are uncomparable, more so as their styles are so different. Parachutes are good.

I agree this doesn't sound like the older stuff, however I think, this is still great. come one, you cannot compare them to coldplay. for me, coldplay have lost a lot of themselves ever after "a rush of blood to the head". I don't think sigur rós have. certainly a bit, but I still think they still remain true to themselves and I think, their "magic" isn't lost at all :) but I agree, this song is much more like "charts" as their former stuff.

I totally agree with you. Its like; ok sigur ros is in parlophone so they sound immediately like coldplay. Thats not true. They sound different, but not like coldplay.

I entered this video just by coincidence, and what I see? Sigur Ros turned Coldplay. Come on, all this new Sigur Ros stuff sunds like Viva la Vida Loca, or sometring. Go listen to Agaetis Byrjun or older Sigur's stuff, and check if you don't agree with me.. Seoriously I'm dissapionted. I was a gread Sigur Ros fan and own all their albums, but not the newest. And Perlophone as a producer? They used to relase their CD under Fat Cat. And that was great music. Now give me -1000 thumbs down rate :(

Gotta say it here, I am currently REALLY enjoying their new album. I think it's catchy and moving and beautiful. I love their old stuff too. They have a very big band sound now, but I think it's beatiful and embrace that change. I didn't like Von. This, I like very much.

And the title of the album, which contains the words "við spilum endalaust" is translated to "with buzzing in our ears we play endlessly", hence my conclusion.
