Pretty neat! Funny story. As I was teaching our dog to "Speak".. of course, I'd say the work "Speak" and he would bark, but at some point he'd make a guttoral (cough-like) sound in his throat and flip his head to the side. I got such a kick with that, I decided to keep "Speak" for that action. It's a riot. Yes, he will sometimes bark louder, though. Either way, it's pretty funny.

When the dog does something you want to do say the word (verb) for what it is doing as it is doing it (not after!) - and reward the dog (treat and/or verbally with happy tones). Your dog will begin to associate the word with the action, and will then do it. --- The best bet is to get a book or take your dog to obedience school or a pet store that offers such training. Do this SOON so you can train the dog to go outside!!!!

@lle27517 be persistent -- your dog won't learn much if you don't spend time working with your dog. Also, train the dog ONE trick at a time - otherwise the dog will be confused and will not know what to respond to.
