I would like to....some day in the future... travel to south america and expereince an ayahuasca rictual...... However I'd like to know, how hard is it to find a shaman (or whover does the rictual) that would do this for me, what am i expected to give the person in return, and any other advice like investing in a translator, renting a boat etc, etc.

I'm a recovered alcoholic myself. My journey in life through active addiction and the awakening I have experienced these past 18 months is something I can very much relate to the shamanic experience. I prefer more non-intrusive methods at present like holotropic breathwork, drumming, trance dancing etc. But I certainly wouldn't discredit the use of Ayahuasca in the future. It probably makes you vomit, or sweat a lot, or want to go to the toilet. It is a cleaning ritual that takes the bad things out of you and makes you feel in tune with life and nature. It's hard to put on words how big it is.

Kava Kave & marijuana will give you the same results as Ayahausca. One of the biggest reason why the gov't got after to take Kava Kava away from the ppl. I'm a recovered alcoholic myself. My journey in life through active addiction and the awakening I have experienced these past 18 months is something I can very much relate to the shamanic experience. I used ayahuaska as a medicine for 10 years, it needs a ritual, can't be otherwise, in my humble opinion, it's the most powerful medicine available for human healing. Respect it, it's ancien knowledge. A journey to the beggining of life on earth, chains of mental slavery fall down and all of a sudden...you are free. Not for sicotics, these type of persons should'nt try it.

It probably makes you vomit, or sweat a lot, or want to go to the toilet. It is a cleaning ritual that takes the bad things out of you and makes you feel in tune with life and nature. It's hard to put on words how big it is.
It must be taken on a ritual with shamans, don't do it alone because it wont be half of the real deal

Lemon/Lime Juice. Soak Ground Seeds In Water And Drink. 15 Minutes Later Drink The Boiled Mixture Of Mimosa Husk And Lemon Or Lime Juice. I Recomend Boil For At Least 15 Minutes. Hehe, i just wish it could taste better^^. But it has helped me so so much in life. The consciousness of the plant can really help you to grow and evolve yourself.

ayahuasca magnifies who you are, that includes all your fears, greed, generosity and compassion, doubts and contents. it makes you see who you are. so the purer the person's mind and heart the more enlightening the session will be, and the darker you are the more the herb will break your ego...and you wont be able to win this one.....its a tough lesson...

if you ask them, they weren't using drugs. Their descriptions come closer to satori or samadhi experiences in eastern spirituality where the self dissolves into one thing or it can expand outwards into the whole universe.

Ayahuasca is by far the most powerful hallucinogen known to man. The drug LSD has NOTHING on it, and the Aya spirit will not let you use it to "trip" off of. If you try you will be punished for your lack of respect! If you want to "trip" use acid or mushrooms- if you want a divine live changing experience connecting with nature in a way eerily similar to to the aliens in the movie Avatar, than take Ayahuasca, but remember you will be changed forever!

Indeed Ayahuasca can be *very* dangerous. If you have family members with cardiac or mental problems *DO NOT TRY IT*. You can die or become insane (both things happened in the past with some people). IMHO Ayahuasca should be used only by the indigenous people, westerners should not mess with it.

@catalinaguerrero ayahuasca is not bounded by genes or to a cetain "race", i think what you mean to say is, it is not to be used by people who are not ready, or not educated on the drug, or even spirituality enclined enough. same goes with any hallucinogen and drug. but to say a drug should only be used by certain race, tribe is wrong.
