I saw Jake perform live once, and that was with Pure Heart when I was in elementary school. I took a field trip to Aloha Stadium with my class and other elementary schools. They played this one song (I forgot what it was called) but it showed off his mad uke skills and it got me hooked from that day on.

I saw Pure Heart in concert about a dozen times on the Big Isle and Colon about 4 times. Always great shows with Jake bouncing around making incredible sounds with the Uke.

Wow old school clip! Pure Heart was one of the main reasons I even picked up the ukulele. This song was the reason to hold on to it.

It just didn't get any better than this trio. Jon, Jake, and Lopaka were one of the best 3 piece acoustic bands in that era. I'll always be a Pure Heart fan.
