Candy and her husband Kent are such a blessing to the body of Christ. They have ministered at our church many times. I can tell you they are the real deal. Candy has a ministry to homeless people near where they live.

What is peace in the midst of turmoil? How do you know that you have peace? What does Jesus mean when he said in John 14:27, Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Can someone share a testimony how this passage ensured peace, without a shadow of doubt, in time of turmoil, knowing definitely that everything will be all right?

Yes I can. 6 months ago, my whole nest egg evaporated in the midst of a market crash. 3 poor decisions accelerated this. It is a scary thing, to watch your ret' package disappear. People have taken their lives over lesser things. However. I hear this song. Jesus reminds me that I am totally his, and he holds me in the palm of his hand. There is no better place to be. He gives real peace in the midst of the storm. He will never forsake us, and he will not see us begging bread.

Five years ago my then 17 year old son was shot in the neck while riding in a car. From 1 am to 9 pm we did not know if he would recover fully or be paralized. When I placed this issue into God's hands the Lords peace came over me and I knew it would be alright. My son has recovered fully. With God's help I immediately forgave the ones responsible and was therefore able to tend to my son and give God the glory.

Howard Goodman is the Brother to Labreska Hemphill's Mother, so howard and vestal is candy's great aunt and uncle. I should now I grew up with candy and her brothers when they lived in Bastrop Louisiana.
