This song hits hard. When I was 17 I was a nationally ranked swimmer and had a full ride swimming scholarship. I went to freshman year with total freedom and no street smarts. As I sit here at 28 years old, it occurs to me that my 10 year graduation reunion is coming up. I think back and realize that I have all but blocked out most of high school in my mind because it sucked so much. I can probably identify with this song so much because I had the teacher that spent pretty much all his extra time trying to help me understand History. As a guitar player, I may have to see if they'll let me play this at the reunion.

I like the comment he made at the beginning and in the song about it being the best years of your life. That helped me so much! The fact that he says this makes me think he was in the same place where I was when I was in school. Brad Paisley is my favorite singer and I honestly think we have very similar personalities and I hope I get to meet him one day and not in one of those 30 second lines. I want to just be able to sit around and talk to him for a while.
