Really the fact that they're placed in late night tv is not the bothersome part?
I suffer from insomnia and i tend to avoid late tv cause man its depressing in the middle of night to see these commercials. they should be placed at around nine tenish. that way the messege is received.
Whar pisses me off about these ads is that they are making out like we have all the money in the world to give to the less fortunate, instead of targetting the uber-rich people out there who REALLY have cash to spare.
@jimjams91 the super rich are greedy. They didnt get all that money by just being generous. For the most part they are greedy arrogant dickheads. If we the worknig class dont care for those in need then who will? Think about it for a minute, do you really think that Ted Turner would buy a blanket for a poor guy..No because he needs that 3,000 golf club set.
This is an offical video for a non-profit website. I allways say: save one save million because one person makes life. You grew up happy food and money. Yes selfishness is part of humans to keep them alive...But he could not have that because he had nothing.
You can't help those who won't help themselves. When you invest those who won't help themselves, you merely perpetuate the situation. But go ahead... allow your heart to keep bleeding.
He IS a fictional character. The problem is he represents real people living in the real world that you would have really freeze to death because they're too "lazy" to live. You don't know these people, or how they end up in that situation, but you walk by and pass judgment like you're some all-knowing god, and you tell yourself only lazy stupid people end up like that so you can sleep better at night. Does it work?
Rent the movie, "The Pursuit of Happyness." That is the way a person who ends up on the street should act. Never giving up, constantly working hard, and never expecting a handout. Most bums have mental diseases and/or are drunk assholes. If these assholes aren't willing to attempt to better themselves, then why should we help them? Oh... because it makes YOU sleep better at night.
People like you merely make the situation worse. Bleeding heart morons.
This is sad, and so true. It's very convicting. I think we fool ourselves into thinking homeless people and others in need are drunks and lazy to make ourselves feel better about walking right on by. Thumb me down if you want, but you know it's true.

We can still have our achievements and give a shit about someone else. Not to this extreme like the commercial, but still have some decency to help someone in need.
Hmm...not having read "Atlas Shrugged", it's my understanding that a lot of people find meaning in life looking out for someone besides Number One. If everyone thought like you did, the world would be in pretty bad shape.
Jack probably already had a job before some guy in a suit almost decided that giving Jack's job to some 10-year-old in a third world country wasn't such a good idea. Too bad the love of money isn't almost the root of all evil.

So if you want to give, give it to the people who don't really need it, right?
