I have been to a few wrecked military aircraft over the years. They are very difficult to find even when you "know" where they are. Plenty of hard work involved. Facinating however. Backpacking and wreck finding. Win, Win.
@fnlrun The planet warms up and cools down on it's own, we're just not the one's causing it. Al Gore was trying to cash in on a natural cycle and blame it on our emissions so he could become rich by selling "carbon footprint" alowances, which was a scam job for sure. He's a Crook, glad he didn't succeed.
why is there a pact for this crash site...i got a friend whos a bush mechanic in the NWT and thay find crashes all the time, granted not as old as this one but non the less...now i didn't quit understand the ausio in the first vid, is the "gold" found? or is it all B.S.???
Wow, this is so incredible. Here in Fort Worth Texas in 1949, a B36 Peacemaker crashed on takeoff at Carswell AFB, and crashed into Lake Worth which the runway ends at. It killed 4 of the occupants.
I had heard storys about a "Cargo plane" crash on the lake, from my dad growing up. So I researched and found this tragic story of what really happened.
Nice video btw. I hope the remains get identified and returned to the famly of the victim.
For me, that location does not show anything on the screen of value, and those coordinates are far north of Pitt lake... unlikely that that is the actual location of the crash site, or it is the crappy detail of the picture... :(
where you landed your airplane seems obvious. full 12-hour day trip on the second day can't be too far from drop off. crash site seems about 1600m+ from the permanent snowfield and sun direction. but i still dont know where it is :-D
@gchicalo2:48 lol or you could just walk back down to pitt meadows like everyone else does. the way you started the video some people might actually think this was amazing
Just moved to Canada recently and heard about the crash. Historian by trade and archaeologist by former profession. Going to try this journey sometime this year.
well, try hiking up spindle canyon, its pretty easy to find if your familiar with the Peneplain Peak area, via spindle canyon...along the way are some pretty cool sites
Yes. I have hiked up Spindle Canyon. Once from Pitt Lake to Spindle Lake, and once from the top of the canyon down to Spindle Lake. Spindle Lake itself may be impassable, unless you swim around some lake-side cliffs. Or, in the winter, Spindle Lake will be frozen, and one could cross on the ice to the upper Spindle Canyon.
well, the only other area in that region I really have been in was a trip into was the five finger spires, and consolation lakes, but you dont really need a float plane to get in there...plus all we saw the whole time when we were there was clouds...but Obelisk peak was outstanding, great granite...
At the beginning of the video is the camera tilted on purpose to look like the hiker is climbing straight up? (Check out the trees in the background.) This combined with the VERY dramatic narration was cute.
Thanks. The bomber is interesting. Very interesting indeed. Working on another video about the bomber wreckage as some more startling details have emerged about it.

Good deducing. Keep looking. You will find the crashed bomber wreckage.
gchicalo 3 years ago
Without the searching of the wreckage, it would spoil the trip.

Do you mean "searching for the wreckage" of the bomber? Or "searching THE wreckage" of the crashed bomber?
