have you tried the Pilot CON-20 converter? A squeeze bar, short and thin in size, often marketed as an aerometric, though I think this isn't entirely accurate.
It might have a proprietary fit for lower-end Pilot pens, but perhaps worth a try if there's one lying around.
The videos are always a pleasure, and I particularly like the site. You're one of the few dealers I know who puts up so many pictures, which is a big plus for me.

Is the retractable mechanism simply for novelty or is there some use to it?
