Uuhm, that's not supposed to be possible. If anyone here has ever seen some of episodes of the 2nd or 3rd doctor, he spesifically says that the Tardis is not able to do short-distance travels... But then again, I don't really think anyone cares :)

It's funny how the TARDIS dematerialises right after the Doctor steps back inside. He wouldn't have had time to get back to the console. In fact, people are always stepping out of the TARDIS right after it lands, which would only be possible if they were standing right by the door the whole time.

Funny thing is, in his fourth incarnation he said in "State of Decay" that jumps through space only were incredibly more tricky then through space AND time. So what he does here involves complicated mathematical equations just to rotate the TARDIS by 90°.
