  • Sad story there both buried next to each other damn hard to not feel there pain

  • Poor Bias family.....First Len dies from a cocaine overdose and then four years later,Jay gets shot and killed in the parking lot of Prince George's Plaza after an argument over a girl.

Len was 22 and Jay was 20. They both used to attend Northwestern High School.

RIP to them both. So sad.

  • @malik8991 sad for them? the mother is what we should be worried about. how do you think she feels

  • LEGEND

  • @bull864 Was it an overdose of cocaine or just by sheer coincidence that Bias couldn't handle ANY amount of Cocaine?

  • @yeon723 It was an overdose because Bias snorted almost pure cocaine. Usually, cocaine is cut with baking soda or sugar, therefore the potency is much less. What probably would have been an average dose was fatal for Lenny because the potency was so much more than usual. Pure cocaine can kill you easily if you aren't careful and Lenny unfortunately made a mistake. The moral to the story is don't do drugs. Sadly, cocaine wasn't considered a deadly drug until Lenny died.

  • @bull864 Thanks for the informative reply. I'm surprised his other buddies were fine, I'm guessing Len did a bit more than the others? or maybe a healthy body such as his wasn't used to the damage it was taking from such a short time.

  • @yeon723 What' i've heard is Bias and his buddies did a couple of lines and then Bias did another couple by himself. Don't know if that is true, but it makes sense to why he died and the others were ok. But honestly, it could be they all did the same amount and Bias had a lower tolerance than they did. Bias wasn't a drug addict, but had done cocaine a couple of times before, but I know one of his friends who was there was a known addict (Tribble). It's one or the other.

  • @yeon723 it was a overdose of cocaine, the cocaine he had taken was 98% pure.

  • @AaronC183 So how come nobody else died?

  • Len Bias is the reason I never tried cocaine.

  • @chrissline77 Pussy

  • @JackBauer270 ..........I hope that the next time you try it, you die from it. And then I hope your mother finds your dead body cold and hard and rotting with maggots. And then I hope your mother dies after seeing you like that. Don't bother replying back because I wont read it.

  • @chrissline77 Pussy

  • @JamesMeyers1996 I didn't see Maravich and Bird in college. Bias was the best I've seen, and I've been watching for 30 years. Bird was one of the greatest players of all-time, and I know what Maravich did at LSU. Those guys were legends too.

  • we were robbed of probably one of the greatest potential player rivalries of all time (bias vs jordan) truly sad

  • "And you just let them OD like Len Bias" "And that pussy so good he let his friends try it"

    Losing your balance

  • Im a NY Knicks fan...I believe they would have never vied for the title...I believe Boston would have beat the Lakers twice in the late 80's...and beat the Bulls a few for the eastern....Jordan would have had 2....bias 6'8...think bernard king and jordan in one...

  • @johnsmdm MJ would still won his championships.

  • @Domini478 ...here me out dog..you dig...Bias' head was even with the rim...that means his jump was david thompsonesque(could grab a quarter from the top of backboard)...had a back to basket game like bernard king(unlike james present)...could run the floor..body like granite...I believe 86-96 would have been Celts winning 4 titles, Bulls 3 and Lakers 2...

  • @johnsmdm You can't determine somebody would be great by college dumbass. According to your logic, Christian Lattner and Phil Ford would be hall of fame players in the NBA. They wasn't and they was great in college. Couldn't or wouldn't don't cut it in my book. MJ is the greatest because he dominited the NBA.

  • @Domini478 ....bloody right dog...i always think mel turpin....but this motherfucker dog was fuckin superman....he could fly he could shoot....laetner was a 15 ft. straight up shooter...ford id be embarassed to mention him...Bias could touch the sky man....shit...he would have been one of the greatest PF/SF to ever play...celts would have won 4 titles...86-96...guaranteed...

  • @johnsmdm You are dumb because Christian is one of the best NCAA players of all time. This man has been to 4 final fours and he had won 2 national championships. Nothing gets better than that! Phil Ford was UNCs alltime scorer leader. He was unstoppable in college. Like I said, you can't determine somebody would be grea in the NBA by playing in college dumbass. Michael Jordan didn't become Michael Jordan until he started playing in the NBA. Coulda or woulda don't count in my book.

  • @Domini478 ...you can't teach height and you can't teach athletics....Bias would have have got the Celts to 4 titles..he's that fuckin good dog....he's Jordan times two homie....the greatest tragedy in sports history in retro spect....he's a tad better than Jordan....Dorsett was better than Herschel but who was really better....circumstances is a crazy bitch....

  • @johnsmdm Height have nothing to do with this. Christian Lattner and Derrick Coleman was taller than Bias and they was avg players in the NBA. You can't determine Bias would of won anything because he has never played in the NBA. Nobody is better than MJ dumbass.

  • I know for a fact Len Bias would have been better than jordan it is no coincidence that he was a promising basketball star and so was his brother and they both died before they got the opportunity to go pro? I guess somethings just aren't meant to be.

  • @Cooley96 No he wouldn't...MJ would still be the greatest! Ole dumb bitch!

  • @Domini478 you the "ole dumb bitch". get off jordan dick damn you ride that shit like the king da ka go marry the nigga damn. I mean you just a troll every fuckin jordan video you pressed on the nigga dick

  • @Cooley96 STFU! with your dumb ass!

  • @Domini478 dont be mad cause I caught yo bitch ass doin bitch ass shit

  • @Cooley96 This is my last response "suck a dick and run in traffic!".

  • @Domini478 ha bitch ass nigga mad

  • Everyone of us makes a mistake in life. Some of you won't understand why people do drugs. I don't understand either but who are we to judge or criticize someone for their flaws, weaknesses, or mistakes in life? Its what makes us human and apart of life that makes it interesting if we learn from ours or even someones elses flaws, weaknesses, or mistakes. We just can't judge them because it is not up to us to do so.

  • rip buddy

  • cmon, anyone knew bias know that he didnt do this.

  • if Len Bias was alive, Celtics would have dominated and got at least 2 championships in the 90's, shit is so sad even thinking about it in 2011

  • FUCK BOSTON

  • @kb82481 screw you screw you ass hole shut up because more boston fans are here because they are thinking about what could've been okay then many fans of him from college too, this is NOT the place to say it

  • Man, just imagine. Bias would have played with a Celtics team considered by many to be the best team ever after their last championship run. THAT would have been the best team ever. It just wasn't meant to be...

  • Wait so lebron is the next len bias but without the "smooth jumpshot" like they said.

  • 25 years ago today....6/19/86. Len would have been on the 50 Greatest Players in NBA History.

  • And another thing, It's worse to be an over-judgemental, self-righteous hater, than it is to be a one-time criminal!

  • To all you self-righteous haters: I did cocaine in the 80's. BUT, now I'm a Veteran of a Foriegn War, a successful father and husband who is sending my kids to good colleges around the country. I pay my taxes and donate to society. My point.......people make mistakes, but have the ability to learn from them and grow. Its just sad Len Bias lost his life for his mistakes. And its a shame too, because he is the best basketball player I've ever seen. PERIOD!

  • I live a few doors from him. His family still lives there. Sad story

  • Hey gamelvr1 fuckface he wasnt brainless he was a smart repectable man.. Hee jst let the emotions get the best of him for just one night

  • @ejfootball82 If he was smart or respectable, he would have never done drugs. While he didn't deserve to die, the man was a evil piece of sh** (all criminals are evil), not mention being a brainless moron.

  • This was a damn shame, man I felt so sorry that day back in 86'

  • like Len Bias, "I'ma play till my heart gone...."

  • 1:56 is that paul pierce on the right?

  • @TheShnag are you dumb ? he was 9 years old at that time ? and i don't even watch basketball and i know he was a kid then .

  • @TheShnag yep it's an 8 year old paul pierce...good catch

  • what could have been, if only

  • @bull864

No hostility man, you make fair points. And he definitely did not have the will to win that Jordan had. If he did, he never would have done cocaine.

  • @boredfun91 Well, I disagree with that. With cocaine in the mid 80's, nobody knew how deadly it could be. The death of Bias changed our whole country's policy on cocaine. Back in those days, cocaine was viewed as a recreational drug, similar to marijuana. So I can't say Bias didn't have the will to win like Jordan just because he snorted cocaine. We will never know if he had the competitiveness that Jordan had.

  • @bull864 Cocaine was still an illegal drug at that point. It had been for over twenty years. Bias was brainless retard. If he had ANY BRAINS, he would still be alive. No intelligent person would ever do illegal drugs

  • @gamelvr1 Cocaine was viewed as a recreational drug back in the mid 80's much like pot. Yeah, it was illegal, but the dangers of it were not known at that time. In fact, Bias's death totally changed the war on drugs. You're calling him a "brainless retard" and "no intelligent person would ever do illegal drugs" is extremely ignorant. By saying that, you are implying that legal drugs are ok, when legal drugs kill many, many more people than illegal drugs. Don't be so naive.

  • @bull864 If you do illegal drugs, you are a criminal. Yes he was a brainless retard. It being considered a "recreational drug" at the time doesn't negate the stupidity it takes to do such a thing. Nor does it change the fact that by definition he was a criminal. It was a horrible waste of god given talent. If the man any brains, or any decency (no decent person breaks the law) he wouldn't have died that fateful night

  • @gamelvr1 You're right Len Bias using drugs was a brainless mistake...but he wasn't a retard at all...Have some respect for the man...That's not cool at all...Len Bias is a basketball legend....As good as Mike.

  • Len Bias would have been something really special. DON'T DO DRUGS!!! IT'S BAD FOR YOU!!!! such a sad story.

  • there were a bunch of people who have come out of college better than Jordan was in college. means nothing. it is what you do at the next level that makes you Legendary....see what I did there??

  • @bull864 Nonsense, they played different positions for one thing. MJ averaged 19.6 in 29.5 mpg which is .664 pts per min Len ave 23.2 in 37mpg which is .627 pts per min. MJ 5.3 rpg, len 7.0, MJ 2.1apg, Len1.0, MJ 1.1bpg Len .4bpg MJ1.6 spg Len .8 spg MJ 77.9 ftpct Len 86.4 MJ 55.1 fgpct Len 54.4 fgpct Jordan 2 POY awards Bias 1 POY award Jordan 3 yrs college Bias 4

  • God wanted to play one on one with somebody so he took Len Bias

  • i know kirk fraser personaly

  • the person who directed this is my friends dad

  • Thats my cousin and i wish he was still alive and in the NBA

  • @bull864 a better player but worse discipline..he must be the GOAT if just realized that DEAD (Drugs Ends All Dreams).

  • just 1 hit and he 0verd0sed wow

  • @MacPr0xnxx0 that's what drugs will do to u

  • This guy WAS better than Jordan is college period. Jordan could not shot worth shit. This man out jumped and shot better than Jordan. If you are not old enough to remember this guy playing then you shouldnt comment. He was Lebron before Lebron. Trust

  • I was 14 years old when Len Bias died, and (like today) a sports fanatic. I lived in prime ACC basketball country, and -like everyone - Bias amazed me. Loved his game, and he always came off as a super nice guy, and good sportsman - he just made a bad mistake, one night. RIP Lin Bias, you will never be forgotten...

  • What a shame Len Bias had the potential to be the best basketball player ever

  • @bull864 shaq was more than two inches taller than jordan, and much much stronger, but what does this say? Nothing.

  • @Cemal7791 Shaq also didn't have Jordan's quickness, athleticism, or one iota of his shooting ability. Bias did. Use a little logic.

  • @bull864 so it's not about height and weight. By the way if you know the prime kemp you know how strong athletic he was and what he later on become and i know whether u wathched the second game north carolina against maryland. if yes you would know how good jordan played against bias.

  • @Cemal7791 I don't think you understand my point. Bias WAS the better player coming out of college..period. No question about it. I never said Bias would have been the better NBA player. No one will ever know. Who knows if Bias had the drive to succeed like Jordan did. As far as Kemp goes, he was a very athletic, raw player. He wasn't even close to being as good a basketball player as Len Bias. Look, I have been watching college bball for 30 years and Bias is the BEST I have ever seen.

  • @bull864 And why do you think Bias was the better college player, i mean during that time may be even James Worth was better than jordan and by the way Houston picked Hakeem instead of Jordan, and I alsow watched the videos regarding bias here on youtube and can't see really more excelence than jordan what does this mean Bias was the better college Player, sorry but i cant follow your argumentation. May be you right and i dont really disagree, i just wanna know the reasons for your statement

  • My mom was a friend of his in college and she told me that when he sniffed the cocain he had a reaction to it and the man that gave it to him was trying to hide the drugs before he called the ambulance so she thinks thats why he died and maybe they couldve saved him if theyd call immediatly.

  • When people say Bias was better than Jordan. Its just one of those things where society embelleshes people who have died. I have been wrong about one college player in my career. I thought Waymon Tisdale was going to be an all time great and was wrong. Bias would have been above dominique and below Jordan. His ball handling was his weakness. The highest he would have become is a James worthy type with an outside shot. This is not to put him down. Worthy and dominique were all stars.

  • he might have been a great college player, i cant really judge since i wasnt even born at the time he was alive but i have to say it is stupid to compare bias to mj...bottom line, bias did a very mistake that mj didnt do and this difference made jordan the better basketball player in the long run...being great athletes is not just about being taller, stronger, better jumpers or shooters.

  • Boston had no luck between the 1986 draft up into 2007 Len Bias Death, Reggie Lewis death, Paul Pierce stabbed like 11 times(Still became a good player), and Red Auerbach dies before he can see them win another championship but really I wana see this Documentary I might buy it with the 30 for 30 thing

  • Woulda shoulda coulda. Theres a long way between potential and actual. He could've been the best, but saying would've been or should've been would be stupid.

Its been 20+ years, give it a rest.

Look up Ben Wilson, had a bright future, he was gunned down. He was suppose to be the chosen one.

  • His death is just so unreal, man dont believe anything the media says. A innocent baskeball player doing coke and overdosed, then brother dying 2 years after. In my eyes who ever gave him that coke was a murderer. UNREAL

  • @bull864 Statistically yes, but Dean Smith was the only man to hold MJ under 20 PPG.

  • @yao11ming4mvp in college, not just statistically but overall skills.

  • Wow! Len Bias...what coulda been...

  • @bull864 ..true...but bias decided that some coke up his nose, or other drugs in his veins meant more...therefore, Jordan IS/WAS the better man, the better player the better athlete. ..I have no sympathy for Len Bias..other than of course a young man found dead...

  • @Jocosity70 before lenny died, cocaine was considered a recreational drug, not dangerous unless you are an addict. Lenny made a deadly mistake. I give Jordan credit for being clean and sober. No doubt, Jordan is the greatest player to ever live. That being said, your logic is flawed when you say because bias snorted coke that meant jordan was the better player and athlete. That makes no sense. I have sympathy for bias because he was a kid who made a mistake. Sad that you don't.

  • @bull864 Do you see the chemicals in that stuff? They put gasoline, sulfric acid and lime to seperate it. Than they put even more of that after the process to give it that crystalized, nose-candy look! Was his decision.

  • @visionimagify I really don't understand your point. What are you trying to say?

  • @bull864 Cocaine. They put so many chemicals in it that the body can't take it sometimes and people OD--even on the first use.

  • @visionimagify Yeah, I agree. Back in those days cocaine wasn't considered as dangerous as it is today because many people didn't know the dangers. Apparently Bias got a hold of a very pure form of coke and it didn't take much to OD. If you get a chance, watch the ESPN 30 for 30 about it. Pretty interesting.

  • @bull864 Thanks, I will do that very soon. Thanks for understanding not going down my throat like some of the dudes here ripping guys up, because they choose not to do heavy, crazy type drugs.

  • @visionimagify "Thats what she said" lmao

  • @Jocosity70 More people die from heart disease, which is usually due to poor eating habits (I'm sure you are not innocent of) ...If you are in a car accident, because you made the dumb decision to not buckle your seat, do you deserve to die? WHY do we talk as if we are perfect ..Yes, there should be some responsibility taken, but I have sympathy because that is NOT make a person deserving of death. Imagine if we all were to be punished in such an extreme way for every poor choice we made?

  • #WTF

  • its sad a great player had to die like that. i hope hes in heaven with the lord jesus right now.

  • @bull864 what? bias better shooter than jordan? in college, jordan 3 points %: 44,4% and bias 27,3% ...better player than jordan? jordan more points, more asissts, more blocks and more steals in less minutes. bias only wins in rebounds...same atheleticism? mmmmmmm....and finally, more drugs? of course yes...in crack and cocaine bias wins easily...

  • @gusyrocks Where to begin? The 3 point line was only used during the 82-83 season in ACC play, Lenny's freshman year when he only played 20 minutes a game and averaged 8 points per game. By his junior year, he was the better college player, with a better ppg average than jordan, better rebounding average, better free throw shooter, and better field goal percentage than jordan with much less talent around him. And you are a fucking cunt to throw in the drug use.

  • @bull864 don,t talk me about 1 year, talk me about the 3 years of jordan and the 4 years of bias in college: jordan wins in FG% ,3p%, steals, blocks, assists and points (and playing less minutes)...bias wins in FT% and rebounds (he was taller LOL) numbers dont lie. dont you like that ? all right . it,s not my problem...one more thing: i,m not a dickhead. i,m not a cunt and i dont make jokes about drug use. be an adult, not a boy...you,re 34...

  • @gusyrocks Hey dumbass, coming into the NBA Bias was the better player. Bias improved tons from his freshman to senior year of college. You are talking about a 3 point line that was only used during ACC play when bias was a FRESHMAN. His shot improved tons each year. By his senior year, he was the better shooter, FT shooter, rebounder, and scorer. Statistics back this up. And yes, you are a dickhead to make light of him dying from drug use. So fuck you for that.

  • @bull864 i,m trying to keep an adult conversation with you but it,s impossible. this conversation could be very interesting with a little of politeness but i,m so bored with your insults. i,m 34 too. i,m not a child. Bias is the greatest sportman ever, better than jordan, better than michael phelps and better than carl lewis , are you happy? all right. good bye and good luck.

  • @gusyrocks as far as college goes, he is one of the best. You want to talk maturity when you were the one that said "in crack and cocaine bias wins easily." That is a bullshit thing to say, and yes, that pissed me off. Bias made a mistake when not much was known about the dangers of cocaine. I would love to have a civil conversation with you but not until you apologize for making such a cowardly remark.

  • @bull864 you called me: "dickhead" " dumbass" "fuckin cunt" "fuck you" ... and i got to apologize???? excuse me...is this a joke?

  • @gusyrocks you know why I called you those things. when you take a jab at someone who died unfortunately i take offense to it. So apologize to me for that.

  • @bull864 are birds happy because they sing or they sing because they are happy?

  • @gusyrocks you are hilarious. you are a douchebag. don't bother me anymore.

  • @bull864 hilarious ???? what the f....

god !!!! the sentence of the birds was just a metaphor about you and me... read it again, please, read it again...

greetings from dickhead-land. pleased to meet u. good luck and good bye.

  • @gusyrocks hilarious ???? what the f..... god !!!! the sentence of the birds was just a metaphor about you and me... read it again, please, read it again...

greetings from dickhead-land. pleased to meet u. good luck and good bye.

  • @gusyrocks Imagine if Len's parents were reading what you said, mocking his overdose like that ...While you're taking jabs at the mistakes people making (being imperfect), your children could be doing "imperfect" things ..There is no way I would even play around like that...*smh*

  • it was his fault. he fucked up

  • people who saw him play and understand college, pro basketball know this is not a exaggeration when i say he was a Bigger Michael Jordon. He could've been the best player ever to play the game....

  • @alexaadap That is not determined....just because you are good in college doesn't mean you are going to be great in the NBA...look at Adam Morrison and JJ Reddick...btw, nobody knew how good MJ was in college because he played on a team oriented offense...

  • @Domini478 we'll never know. that's sad part

  • @bull864 There were SO MANY college players worth following in the mid 80's that it was absolutely epic. NO ONE under 35 years of age could even comprehend how good the NCAA was at that time and the profound effect it had on enhancing and already great NBA.

While Lenny was on a less talented college team and had to play a bigger role offensively than Jordan did at UNC you are right on all accounts. Bias was simply much better than Jordan at that point in time. I wept openly when I heard he died

  • @MTXSHO9732vV8SHO I was only 10 years old when it happened but i never will forget how upset i was. Bias was my all-time favorite college player and I never looked at college ball the same after that. You are right, the NCAA game was awesome back in the 80's. Kids just don't know.

  • sick trailer...goosebumps.

  • This guy was amazing. After he died MJ was the first one to give his condolences at his parents house. The president of the US paid his parents a visit to give their condolences as well, thats how much of an impact this guy had in sports as a whole. I remember him and MJ would go head to head a lot, they were epic battles on the court. Many comparisons between MJ and Bias. Bias' jump shot was superior to MJs in college, he had potential to be the best shooter in NBA history.

  • @Eurostar3x potential to be the best shooter in nba? Bias 3 points% in college = 27.2 % .... Jordan 3 points % in college= 44.7 % (wikipedia)

  • @gusyrocks THOSE STATS ARE FROM HIS FRESHMAN YEAR, THE ONLY YEAR THAT THERE WAS AN EXPERIMENTAL 3 POINT LINE IN ACC PLAY!!!! His shot improved dramatically over the next three years, hence his FT percentage went from 63% his freshman year to 87% his senior year. Can't you grasp the concept of a player improving? Did you even know that the three point shot was only around during the 82-83 season and didn't come back until the 86-87 season??

  • ESPNS'S 30 for 30.

  • are we supposed to feel sorry for him or something?

  • @UDflyer04 WHY would you even ytube this, then, if it should be of no concern or anything? I hate people who just wanna talk shit because they have the freedom to type...

  • So sad...As a Boston Celtics fan, I've pondered what if...thousands of times. His death changed NBC history...for the worst. RIP Len.

  • I was sixteen and couldn't comprehend that he was dead.

If you weren't alive at the time, watching college b-ball in the 80's, it's hard to conceive what a golden era it was. Lenny's death was just gut-wrenching.

Every March Madness there comes a point during one of the games that I stop and think about him.

  • @felldownonce1 Get over it!

  • ppl better chk jordans college resume and the accolades he won. Google the two and compare. Bias was good, but chk their fg pct. ft scoring avg. what awards did bias win in college? No comparison period!!! jordan

  • I'm a Chicago man and love the Bulls. However, if Bias doen't die - and lets NOT FORGET Reggie Lewis dropping dead basically on the court, who know what miight have happned. While Bird, McHale, Dennis, and Danny's careers wound down, Lenny and Reggie would have helped prolong Celtic success. The Bulls may only be celebrating 3 or 4 championships. And the Pistons may not have won any at the end of the eighties. What a HUGE what if.

  • Comment removed

  • Where can I go to watch this documentary?

  • @diablo313 this Is "Without Bias" you can catch it on Espm if u get lucky

  • yes bias was dam good in college, yes better than jordan in college , but if you think jordan wouldn't have been the man even with bias on the court too your fooling yourselves, ewing to me was better than jordan in college, so was pearl washington, but jordan turned the corner like no other, lot of other players had better college game than jordan, but when jordan came to the nba he str8 dominated!!

  • I am still angry about the death of Len Bias. I remember watching him as a kid and thinking, "This is the best basketball player in the country." Senseless.

  • Bias was absolutely unstoppable in college. He was everywhere on the court and could take control of any game because he was so ridiculously competitive, athletic and talented. Every scout, commentator, and fan who ever saw Bias play could easily tell he was going to dominate at the next level. He had a ton of upside and was a more complete player than Jordan in college.

  • the thing I hate and the sad part about it my father wa the one near the Tree holding his hea and was with him the night Len bias died my father was #32 Terry long for university of Maryland

  • i,m a strong michael jordan fan,but if len wouldve lived, jordan would not have 6 titles.boston was already a strong team at the time and len was the missing piece 2 the celtics puzzle.

  • Larry Bird said he was going to work with him all summer long. Kevin Mchale said we would go back to 6th man position what should have been.

  • so sad

  • John Thompson, Dominique Wilkins, Len Bias, Kenny Walker, Harold Miner and Vince Carter the very best straight up vertical dunkers every.

  • bias was not a lebron type. he was a bias type. he was stronger taller and he could shoot better than mj. if he would have went to the nba there would be a air bias instead of jordan. bias is the greatest college bball player that has ever played.

  • WORD len bias is len bias lebron could never be a lenny bias R.I.P len the one that played for fun not the one that played for the money

  • treylo2,you must be snorting some coke too. Len bias the greatest college player ever? ROFL HELL NO! Pistol Pete deserves that honor.

Better Jordan, ahhh hell no! Jordan played on a North Carolina team that focus more on team play rather than one person carrying the team.

  • @treylo2 there were already Air Jordans 2 years before Len was drafted

  • are you serious??what kind of idiot would say something like that??

  • naw thats real shit what he said so shut up

  • comparing college jodan to bias is irrelevant

after mike went into the pros he elevated at a level that nobody expected him to reach. nobody knew that he was going to become what he became

  • That sucks, too bad he never got to show his talent and he could have been the best player too! But he did something that made him have death so that sucks.

  • Oh my...stop fucking around on Youtube kids.

Just read and watch what Len Bias did at lifetime and what others (not just jordan) said about him.

And THEN imagine what would have been, if we had two jordans in the league (imho Bias was more athletic then MJ when MJ was more clever in understanding the game)

  • he trusted his boys, they got him some bad stuff, and he died. PERIOD! people need to stop saying he used drugs previously when he OBVIOUSLY did not! he knew the risks, because he had a SUPERB family support structure that did not support, condone, or even ALLOW such behavior from him! he came up on the wrong side of a risk we ALL take at some point: suspended his judgement and threw caution to the wind in the heat of celebration to "experiment" with "taboo". unfortunately, it cost him his life.

  • big man, great shooter,

    we will never know

    so sad

    drugs/blow out a knee/other injuries??????

jordan - iron man - he made it he did it he's awesome!!!!!!!!!! on Bias - ???????????

but it would have been such a great thing to see lenny vs jordan --both at their PEAK!!

  • for real everyone saying bias was better than jordan is wack...

first jordan is better simply because he wasnt dumb enough to jepordize his career and life with drugs

jordan not only is the best player in nba history, but he revolutionized the game and everything associated with the game

jordan knew how to brand himself to entire generations, without jordan, theres no kobe, lebron, d wade

who's to say bias wouldve continued to work on his game at the pros like jordan did? jordan had ambition

  • @lee2422:

You're right. There's no way to say it without hurting other people's feelings, but that is true.

  • @lee2422 all of the things you said were freaking OPINIONS!! LARRY BIRD, BILL RUSSELL WILT THE STILT....they are the ones who revolutionized the game!(but then again that would also sound like an opinion....

  • @lee2422 that was because he was allowed to have a career in the nba, there's no telling what this guy could have done.

  • @lee2422 Have you ever thought that, perhaps, Len Bias' death is WHY Jordan go down the chute w/ drugs? You don't know if he was having access to coke back then ...and Jordan not doing coke (as we know of) does not make him "better" ...I think it is a more unwise decision to hurt someone, and tear apart your family by cheating on them ...You KNOW that you are hurting people ...Len Bias knew he was making a bad choice, but he didn't know all the harm he would cause w/ that self-indulgence

  • not sure about this one, but Lenny's story was on ESPN's 30 for 30, it was great

i would also love to know where to get this story by May 3rd Films

  • Is this documentary out now? I've not seen it anywhere. If someone knows how or where I can get a copy, please let me know. Thanks.

  • RIP Frosty

  • ps. ask anyone who was alive at that time and if they were a md bball fan they know where they were when len died

    RIP

  • Bias wouldve been as good or better than jordan. Think about it. The celtics won the championship the year before and their owner had schemed his whole team around Bias. The celtic had Larry Bird, and Robert Parish... BIAS IS AMAZING AND THE BEST COLLEGE PLAYER TO EVER LIVE. R.I.P LEN BIAS. and i went to maryland basketball camp with him in 1976 and he wasnt that good and everybody called him egghead and laughed at him... WHOS LAUGHIN NOW?

  • nobody cause he dead now fool, he never EVER would have been good as jordan, sorry but its true bitch

  • yea right u probably know nothin bout basketball if bias had of played he wouldve have been better and jordan would probably only have one title

  • WHAT THE HELL MJ aint got shit on Bias ......think about it a big man that can shoot and take it in on anybody.......i can tell u dont know much about basketball

  • MJ aint got shit on bias you say?

Mj's stats- 2 olympic gold medals, 6 time nba champion, 6 finals mvp, 5 time nba mvp, 10 scoring titles, 14 time all-star, 9 defensive selections, rookie of the year, defensive player of the year '88, 2 time slam dunk champ, etc etc.... so what do you think now bitch, could len do the same? HELL NO!!! you're the one that doesn't know shit about basketball and life...go overdose and kill yourself like len did you stupid cunt!!!!

  • Mj said his self "NO ONE COULD STOP HIM AND IF HE WOULD HAVE PLAYED HE WOULD HAVE BEEN THE BEST THAT WOULD HAVE EVER PLAYED THE GAME" if mj said that wat d hell do u think would have happen. U JACKASS KILL YO SELF.

  • if you show me the link to that video than i will believe you. point is could len have accomplished as much as jordan did? STILL HELL NO!! MJ IS THE MOST COMPETITIVE FUCKER IN THE WORLD AND YOU THINK HE'LL JUST COME OUT AND SAY THAT! HAAHAAAAHAHAAA!! keep sniffing cocaine with your friend len you stupid fucken cunt! and if you don't die that way go fucken slit your throat!!!!

  • @vincejr1542 those stats r pretty sick Leb Bias had the potential to be great in the NBA but its hard to top MJ when it comes to basketball its just hard

  • i feel u on that mj is the best, but u the only person that see he could have been good. thank u 4 that others cant read stats

  • aww good is an understatement Bias woulda been a legend but MJ is still MJ

  • I agree with you, and from seeing him play, it looks like he was more of a lebron. athletic, but was lacking finesse. From the way he was shooting that free throw. He was a dunker.

  • bballmac123,Len bias is a great basketball player but better than Jordan or even as good as Jordan, hell no. You must be snorting snorting up some coke too. To say he's the greatest college player that has ever lived is BS. That honor goes to Pistol pete. read the stats. LOL
