So I guess when I first bought this PC I ordered the GPU to be replaced with an Nvidia card for an ATI radeon HD 4850 annnd I guess they didn't uninstall the older nvidia drivers, I also just bought a new HIS radeon hd 6770 1gb GDDR5, But I installed the drivers while all the GPU drivers were still on there, Would my graphics card performance be downgraded until I uninstall the older ones? Also, I should be able to run BF3 on high 30-45 fps, I can only run the game on multiplayer on medium 24fps
@MisterAmbidextrous I also noticed my internet died right after I uninstalled the Nvidia drivers, I don't know why, But it didn't work until i had to have a system restore from before I removed the files.
@MisterAmbidextrous This is a weird one. I dont know how that could happen. the graphics card and your ethernet or modem ports are two different things. Im glad you got it sorted out, strange to say the least .
@MisterAmbidextrous One things is for sure...your card is not running full speed. You need to have the most current drivers and latest patches for the game. Its always best to start fresh.if I was you i would UNinstall ALL the drivers that you dont need and install only the fresh new drivers that you get in the website for your current set up. Sometimes stock video drivers underclock your graphics card and you can only get your full clock when you install the official drivers
One more question. If you have intel hd graphics driver, can you install nvidia? I use a toshiba laptop if thats any help. Nice choice in music btw :)
@XeriaX911 If youre getting errors then its safe to do it on windows 7, if youre not getting any errors then you can skip it (win 7 only). I have windows 7 and have not gotten any errors at all. :)
I have an INtel HD grahics family card, Intel Core i7 2670QM 2.20Ghz and intergrated intel graphics card. I need to know if I can uninstall this Intel HD Graphics family and install Nvidia drivers..?
@HeyImAPotato You can only install intel card drivers. Unless you left the family card alone and installed an nvidia card, then you can install the nvidia drivers.
hey there, im planning on removing my current graphics card (GeForce GT320) and replacing it by a Radeon HD6950. I was wondering, do i have to uninstall the Geforce drivers before i can download and install the Radeon drivers? And my second question: Can i insert the new Graphics card, boot my system and then install the drivers if i go to safe mode?
@joyfighter I recommend that you UNinstall the "old drivers " first with the old card inserted... then you continue the procedure and install your new card... you then boot up, and your monitor will still show the desktop( its going to look stretched out because theres no drivers).. but you can still navigate the web to get the "new" drivers... or you can always have the "new" drivers ready to install on your USB or desktop.. Once you install the new drivers then you can reboot and play away.
@pavlosultras13 Im sorry, I replied to the wrong person. ...But yes you can do that ! all you have to do is make sure it has the same entry for the card ( on the motherboard ) and that your PSU has enough wattage to support it ... i apologize for that confusion.
@pavlosultras13 Yes. But first i need to know if its a laptop or a desktop. Most desktops do change cards, it just requires a little research on your part ( to make sure its the same slot ) type of card.. Also i dont recommend changing them on laptops.. unless you know what youre doing .
@ajtaher88 You should be able to install whatever brand of graphics card you want. If your motherboard supports it and you have the specific drivers for that card then i see no reason why you cant switch to another brand.
hey I got a question. I want to replace my video card to a higher model. they are both nvidia and I have the latest drivers. do I still need to download the driver?
well, i want to see if their is a way to make my graphics card (intel HD 300) work properly, because in the game left 4 dead, there is meant to be dynamic shadows, but my game wont render them, any suggestions?
@bobochow5 did you update your game updates and drivers ? ... what version of windows do you have? Direct X also matters you can try updating that too. some computers have direct 9 (older), 10 (newer) ..as we know the higher the number, the more a game takes advantage of your graphics card... however not all graphics card can handle the full render...
Please dont even attempt to do that. that would be like trying to fit a chevy transmission to a volkswagen engine. If your laptop manufacture (toshiba) or (AMD) dont have updated drivers then just leave them alone. If they dont have updates then i suggest you only re-install your current drivers if they were to ever get corrupted...
hey is it neccesary to uninstall my own card before i install new one? cuz this is my first time din it and i dont trust any website for that kind of stuff right now
you dont have to uninstall your current drivers....
I recommend you leave the drivers alone... install your new card .. THEN you install the new drivers . Make sure you download your drivers from the manufactures website !! ...
You want to make sure its from a secure website. if you got a zip folder from a good website like nvidia then go ahead and ' extract ' the zip file to a folder... like this ..first create a folder in your desktop and name it " drivers". put the zip file there, then right click on the zip file ... select " extract " and make sure it extracts to that folder you created. once thats done then look for the icon in that folder you made. the file you want to launch should look like a application icon.
@Notownsoad It was like that then i tried to reinstall it and it failed half way cc works but i have no open gl i cant play any games and it keeps failing
@blacknum3 first make sure you have an nvidia card lol..ok now google "How do I know what computer video card I have?"...find your card series...then go look for the drivers..
eg. i have windows 7 64 bit and an old friend, nvidia 9800gtx..... i would get the 9 series drivers etc. etc.
fyi laptops are not always supported after you buy it so if your laptop drivers are ok and you cant find updated ones then just leave it alone.
i wish i had 50 fucking euros to hire someone to fix this shit, now i have to look everywhere around the internet to learn how to do it and end up with a fucked up pc -.-
@Notownsoad i downloaded driver reviver to do it for me :P but my games still crash like before :( and the most annoying part of all, is that once i updaded my video drivers all by myself in less than an hour when i was 13 and now i am totally useless -.-
@mushroomism sorry to hear about your games crashing, that sucks. its getting less of an issue with the newer machines, less to deal with thats for sure .. i recon you should try another video card, a little more capable perhaps? could be a ram issue as well , although rare it does happen.
@sharke76 also, make sure your pc has a video card... sometimes pcs have on board video cards and you might need to get the drivers from other online places (typically if its lets say a dell, then youd go to dell and look for your pc and look for update installers
By mistake i didnt choose "safe mode", i installed it in orginal mode, will something happen to me now? Because it was important to install it in safe mode :(
I really hope dis works cause I can't play allods cause mine is too old or something..but I need sone help b4 I saw this video I had downloaded another video drive n installed it would dat change anything (I have an xp) HELP!!
Ive been having problems with installing new drivers, every time i do I get "Display drivers have stopped responding and have recovered safely" with a black screen, is this a driver related issue? I'm currently on the basic drivers that came with the card as I rolled back when it happened but I still get this error although it is extremely rare and only happened a few times.
@33grass33 I think this happens when the pc didnt uninstall the drivers completely, or your pc is not letting you replace the old ones completely with the new ones and it goes back to the old ones ... something is fishy here. You might want to try doing everything under safe mode.. even the uninstall of the old video cards in safe mode. ..
@daykcloud it should work under vista.. however they might have taken care of this bug by then.. It certainly wont hurt your vista pc.. if anything itll make sure everything is cleanly installed . as for the drivers i think it would be best if you searched under vista 32 and then the card series number
I recently bought a Gateway FPD1775W TFT LCD MONITOR and my computer won't recognize it. I searched for hours on gateway and couldn't find not 1 drive to fix it. cause the computer keeping saying "please install VGA Driver to continue"
@NCOMAYHEM Ill look into that . For now im thinking you dont have any drivers installed... or you might not be allowed to see all the ( uninstalls ). you should check to see if theres a, 'hide' some (uninstalls); toggle on the uninstall screen ..
For some odd ass reason, my new hard drive blocks out ALL driver downloads. I can't download any drivers, audio or video graphics without a "cannot complete this download " message. A total waste of time. Get a graphics or sound card. It's not worth the frustration. Thanks for the vid. tho, It was worth a try anyway. As I stated before, "Computers Suck" !
a note here: if the card isnt compatible after these steps go to control panel then display then settings then highest resolution. apply it then press ok. the old card will be restored
I had to end up paying $29.95 for a driver download via Driver Reviver.com I was told on a chat site that drivers are not available for a 2004 PC for free. You'll have to shell out some cash to get them back. There's no free supporting sites for Compaq that are 7 years old.
Dude is this sure to work? Im a tottal noob when it comes to things like this and I dont wanna have problems cuz then I'l need to ask my uncle for help xD My uncle is creepy and I've been trying for a long time to avoid talking to him. So is this 100% sure to work?
