@tobiswife The anime is called The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. It's not horror, although there are a couple of horror/murder mystery-esque episodes in the first season (I haven't seen the second season yet). The show is sort of hard to describe, but it's mostly a high school comedy mixed with science-fiction, but it kind of has a bit of everything. It's a really great anime, though, so you should check it out if you ever get the chance! :)

i watched this amv at nyaf and i loved it :D so many ppl in that panel that i had to stand on the back to watch all that excitment ^^;

but i didn't know who actually won the contest and what the prizes were. do you know?

Thanks! I wasn't one of the winners, lol, so I'm not really sure what the prizes were. I'm trying to remember who all the winners were...I know the Clannad AMV by kireblue won Best Drama and the Anime Duet by HalofBorg won Best in Show and Best Eye Candy/Special Effects. And I think the Magical Girls Take a Stand AMV won Best Upbeat, but I can't remember who won Best Action or who the runner-ups were. Sorry! But I hope that helps a little and if I can remember anymore, I'll let you know! :)

oh wow, i really enjoyed watching this! the entire time my head filled with so many ideas! I absolutely love your editing style, it's so relaxing but at the same time engaging. I couldn't stop watching this after the first 10 seconds and only wish it could have been longer. Definitely 5/5, fave, and sub!

tho if i could ask you a favor, how did you do that effect at 0:12 0:15, 0:18, etc. where the camera shakes and an after image appears? I'm kind of new to editing lol, would appreciate it! ^^

Unfortunately, I don't have the actual project file for this video anymore (my external hard drive, which it was saved on, kind of died), so I can't say with certainty which effect I used for the camera shakes. I know the effect was either Active Camera or Earthquake in Adobe Premiere Elements 7, but I can't remember which one of the two it was. But I feel like it was Active Camera because I think I thought Earthquake was too shaky. Hope that helps! :)

And yes actually, that does help quite a bit. I'll try looking up some tutorials on those effects to see how it works. See if I can't pull it off in Vegas with some combination or another of effects haha. Afraid I don't have Adobe =(

Oh, cool! This was actually the first video I made using Adobe Premiere Elements, so I'm glad it came out kind of decent, lol. I was surprised to even be a finalist since it was the first AMV contest I ever entered. I had asked to be in the action category because I didn't think my special effects were really that good, but for some reason they put me in the special effects category, anyway, lol. Even though I don't think I'm going to win anything, It was still really cool being a finalist! :)

I'm going to be at the festival tomorrow, but I'm not sure if I'm going to the AMV Contest Encore or one of the other panels/screenings yet. It was really exciting hearing everyone cheer, though - before I went to the screening on Friday, I was so scared people were going to think my video was awful and start booing it, lol! I was glad that people enjoyed it (although, I suspect part of the cheering was because I used Suzumiya and there are some crazy Suzumiya fans out there, lol). :)
