It's not difficult to tell the difference between a super charger and a turbo. You can tell it's a turbo by the loud blow-off valves. Supercharges have that kick ass whine to em.

its a procharger, and they have bypass valves that sound identical to a BOV on a turbocharged car. look it up.

Bypass valves take the excess boost when throttle butter fly closes and puts them back at the inlet side of turbo, instead of venting them to the atmosphere which is what you can hear. A recirculating dump valve is basically the same as a bypass valve, it routes the air to the inlet side of the turbo. There is no sound. It's silent, if not for the tiniest little bit of chatter imaginable, and thats only if the spings alittle too stiff!

they're not turbos. Its a BIG centrifugal blower. Like a Procharger or a Vortech...

Only a procharger makes that distinct whistle at idle. check out other vids of F-1, F-2, F-3 prochargers. they sound exactly the same as this car in the video.

A good friend of mine has a D-1 procharger (capable of 700+ HP) on his '99 TRans am and the whistle of the blowers is distinctly the same.

i know its gear driven jerk off. did i specifically say it was anything else. They are self contained gear driven centrifugal superchargers, identical to a turbo housing except that the inducer is propelled by internal gear reduction and a serpentine, or cog belt.

I'm not completely clueless. I helped my friend install his custom race procharger kit into his car and it was a big challenge. we cut almost the entire front bumper support out to make room for his intercooler... THAT SUCKED!!!
