My girlfriend, who I loved dearly and was fully prepared to spend the rest of my life with just recently broke up with me, told me she hated me, told me she liked another guy, has already had sex with him, and may be pregnant with his baby. I've been spending the last month trying to get over her, listening to Tool the whole time, meditating. Just gonna throw this out there, Limp Bizkit are actually quite technical with effects, their bassist is also pretty damn good. They're multi-platinum for a reason. @bassplayer703 Maynard's lyrics are deep and filled with something more of words, when you hear a Tool song, it's not words or useless ballads, it's all four members of Tool, whether it be Danny Carey's leadful and smooth drumming on Disposition or on Hooker With A Penis, or Justin's relaxing chords or rock chords like Schism, even Adam Jones plays a huge part, every member of the band contributes to these masterful songs.

I started playing tool riffs when I was 16, but it wasn't until i was 20 or 21 or so that I really started to focus on the tonality, and actually using a wah and delay, and a metal zone. even still, its hard to replicate, but when you tweak into the sound and get closer each time you play, then its like art, and you start to build an ear for why tool is awesome.

The definition of Disposition is "A person's inherent qualities of mind and character."
This song puts into words our thoughts, we watch the weather change and do nothing about it, we constantly want someone to mention something to us no matter how insignificant it is to feel part of something. Constantly looking for firm ground for our thoughts and scared to explore. Listen to Lateralus and it describes our thoughts from childhood and how we should rekindle that desire of freedom of thought.

okay here it goes. i am a conservative, republican, and a christian. i fully recognize the greatness of this band...talent, lyrics, and composition. TOOL is by far my favorite band. THE progressive rock band. you have to group them with Pink Floyd and King Crimson. this is my favorite TOOL song.

Judith marie keenan had a stroke in 1976 that left her paralyzed until she died 27 years (10000 days) later. the song Jimmy is about when he had to move away after this happened, Judith is about his anger at her still praising god even as she suffered, and wings for marie 1 and 2 is her eulogy. thank you very much

@BruisedEyeSockets No one is seeing Tool as the goddamn messiah. But the music affects people in different ways. I've gotten so lost in so many Tool songs, in a good way. It's people like you, lumping all of us fans into one group, that need to stop. Plus if you barely enjoy Tool, why are you spending your sweet time typing up a comment slandering those of us that enjoy the music more than you? Could have spent that time searching for music you enjoy more, instead.

@bassplayer703 if you sit down to play a Tool song on your guitar, you'll more than likely find yourself (a) playing a mid-80s Megadeth-style bass line or (b) alternating between two or three tedious barre chords that are right next to each other.Most 16 year olds can play most of Tools music.

@bassplayer703 Maynard's lyrics are deep and filled with something more of words, when you hear a Tool song, it's not words or useless ballads, it's all four members of Tool, whether it be Danny Carey's leadful and smooth drumming on Disposition or on Hooker With A Penis, or Justin's relaxing chords or rock chords like Schism, even Adam Jones plays a huge part, every member of the band contributes to these masterful songs.
I am really sorry that you can't see the beauty behing their music.

@bassplayer703 i would have to agree. I started playing tool riffs when I was 16, but it wasn't until i was 20 or 21 or so that I really started to focus on the tonality, and actually using a wah and delay, and a metal zone. even still, its hard to replicate, but when you tweak into the sound and get closer each time you play, then its like art, and you start to build an ear for why tool is awesome.

Currency may be created out of debt, but that doesn't make it a good thing to have. By your logic America should ask China for a couple of trillion dollars with an interest rate of whatever they feel like, simply because "it creates currency".
The monetary system isn't evil. You all have access to a decent education, shelter and food. If you don't feel like working at school, applying for job's,asking for raises or attempting to start enterprise, of course you won't become rich!
