I watched Amr zaki playing for Wigan several time. He is really something, strong, innovative,consistent, and hungry for ball. In Wigan, however, he gets limited supply from the midfield, but still he managed to be one of top scorer. Amr Zaki could make different for the team when his team under pressure. While Rooney does not have that character.

I watched Amr zaki playing for Wigan several time. He is really something, strong, innovative,consistent, and hungry for ball. In Wigan, however, he gets limited supply from the midfield, but still he managed to be one of top scorer. Amr Zaki could make different for the team when his team under pressure. While Rooney does not have that character.
To me he is better than Rooney. Well perhaps it is only me.

Also, I think that Amr Zaki is a bad example of an over seas talent. I agree with ASHRAFFATHIEISS, if you watch a league in Africa or South America, you will see enormous amounts of skill. You find players that could easily run rings around players like Rooney but the big leagues like the premier league just doesn't take notice of them.
Take the club world cup for example, the South American teams that are full of un heard of players, have won the most times, by a lot!

I just watched this whole video without thinking about a single thing about who's from where, and who plays where but there IS a difference of level between these two, look at the defending in the goals, and look at the angles and the technique that goes into these goals, there's a difference in how these goals were scored. I can understand what you are saying about Rooney not living up to all the hype people have been making and i must admit Zaki has been playing good football he is a handful and he can score but i think Rooney is a exceptional player and people must remember he is only 22 and he can get better, i think this is the turning point for him with his goals and has grown in confidence not only been doing a lot of assists and good work rate etc. that has become common with his play but also with goals
