  • Jim Sim here...the creator of this little nugget of nostalgia. This was created for the Y-95 Christmas Party 1989. Not sure who found this copy and uploaded it, but THANK YOU!!! Many memories working there, mostly great times working with Tim and Willy. I just received the video file, so I can now create a "Director's Cut" with better technology. Back in '89 it was VCR to VCR editing.

  • where is commander Bill

  • What a throwback. Y95 vs. KZZP vs. KKFR. Do you have a copy of the stunt you pulled on us, "6 Flags Under Arizona?" Arizona's only underground amusement park. Confess, who was it that bought the schedule for the ad and ran in on 92.3 and used the hotline number as the phone number for information. We dubbed it and never listened to it. All weekend long we got slammed with hotline calls. We never laughed so hard in our life. Just brilliant.

Best to all: Mark the Roman/KKFR 1988-1990.

  • Nice, I used to run Steve Goddard's syndicated show at KDOK-FM Tyler, tX, always liked his voice, it's neat to see him in this old video, got a good sense of humor. Thanks again!

  • It was pretty funny seeing this video. I work in the building now and it was crazy to see how much hasn't changed. Some of the pictures up on the walls were just recently tossed from the "furniture" room up on the legendary third floor. Still see good ol M.P. in the studios from time to time as well as James R.

  • Oh, Geez, James Rivas in the Super Trooper!

(Not to mention Steve Wood & Pat Powers...)

Vernon Lyles and the board ops did not survive the 90s after Edens sold, but sadly, the MCI tape decks and the cheesy office furniture did live on for a bit longer after that.

On another note, Steve Wood, thank you for teaching me multi-track and how to properly handle a jock who claims to have a "no-dub" clause in his contract. :)

  • I can't believe this. This is Steve Wood and I was sent this video link by Mike Patrick who is on the air at KOOL these days, as of 10/16/08. To be honest I don't even remember doing this video but it must have been around 1986. The old KOY building was an incredible place. That is Bruce Kelly, under the old black couch up on the legendary third floor. Other are Jay (Goutamote) Stevens, Doug Bensing, Steve Goddard, Dina Fox, Jackie (yum) West, Cotton, Tim Hattrick, Front Desk Bobbie.

  • Ah, the conference room where I had a fist fight with another groupie. Great times!

  • Thats awesome. You knew Monsoon Eddie and Bruce Kelly then?

  • Hey, awesome video!

  • Thanks Lauren. Are you in radio or do you know any of the people in the video?

  • Hi lilemma444! No I'm not in radio, but I'm a big radio junkie and plan on getting into it someday. The old KOY building (in this video) is now home of KOOL and KMLE! I recognize the hallway. The only person I recognize is a much younger Tim from the Tim & Willy show! He's on the video when it hits 5:33. How about you? Are you in radio? How'd you get this cool video?
