  • By the way, you are an excellent marksman...

  • I just traded an SR-9 for a Glock 17. The sr9 is not in the same league as the glock...

  • Just got one 2 days ago. Thinks for the out put cant wait to get to the range.

  • Just bought one thanks for the input and demo.

  • BTW, your reviews rock.

  • Any chance you might be reviewing the SR40 or SR40c anytime soon?

  • After seeing the "Gunning for the Glock" series I ran out and bought a stainless SR9. I love it but after seeing Nutns review of the FN FNP-9 I am not sure I picked the right pistol... Nutn, life or death only one on hand which of these two weapons do YOU reach for?

  • @larukulunaseas Why would he join the army? He retired from the Air Force in December. Now, quit being a YouTube idiot and go do something productive, you moron. -- Veri (Nutn's sister)

  • @nutnfancy haha the air force haha!! I still like your videos even if you were in the airforce :)

  • @larukulunaseas lol why hate on people who are not in the army i bet u are not in the army so yh u cant talk man.. so what if u looks like a poser i bet u shots better then you

  • Great videos man. I bought the SR9 a while back and I think its a great gun. But I wanted to see if others have had the same experience and it seems so. Thanks for posting!

  • @victus78 I would also like to add that I have a belly band holster and it conceals very well for a full size for those of you that can legally carry concealed.

  • That is a gooooood looking gun. Wow. Sexy.

  • Americans xD

  • wow. I have a SR9, and I need to get that good

  • Very cool.

  • WEEKEND WARRIOR!!! "great place to store your range finder!! BAMM!! LOL!!!

  • 13/17 @ 100yards.... Thats pretty good.

  • hehe. no harm in being on your toes,,you never know what might happen next :)

  • Just don't shoot the camera

  • Nice shooting long range with a pistol. Impressive!

  • amazing shooting at the range, however

    "providing suppressive fire"

Wow. A pistol is not a area target weapon, and a squad of taliban arn't going to bat an eye at someone pistol.

Read some current AARs. If they're closing on us under apache fire, what makes you think a pistol will gain fire superiority?

  • @theblackkknight1 He never said anything about fire superiority. Notice he also mentions if it's the ONLY weapon that you have, would you try to take down as many targets as possible with the pistol or just stand there doing nothing?

  • @IAmTheKlack

If your ALL down to pistol ammo, youve lost the firefight. Your not going to keep fighting like some kind of hollywood last stand bullshit.

Your going to break contact and live to fight another day. The max eff range of that pistol is 50 meters. The purpose of suppressive fire is to bound on your enemy. Your not going to be doing any team rushes with only a pistol.

  • @theblackkknight1 Glade to hear some one has done some training. Yea im not going on the offense with side arm,but i might be looking for purple heart. I like the old 1911s

  • @theblackkknight1 did you learn all that through your extensive study of the dark knight movie bro?

  • @tronclay

is that your lame attempt at trying to be clever bro?

  • GOT ONE! lol my parents old gun...about a thousand rounds through it no probs. Love it. CCW weapon.

  • Thanks again for your reviews! The wealth of info on numerous platforms is a great resource when trying to determine what to buy.

  • it is a good gun i shot 100 rounds and did not clean it the went out the next time and shot 100 rounds and no jam at all this gun is a good i trust it

  • can the sig p226 hit tht target at 104 yards?

  • Great video, can you do a piece on Ruger 944.

  • DAMN! good shot!

    love my SR9 btw

  • im looking at buying the sr9 does any body how the trigger pull is on it???

  • @hellbilly232 On mine, it is very smooth and was a bit on they heavy side at first but I've either gotten used to it or it has softened up. The new SR9 might have the improved trigger pull of the SR9c but I don't know for sure. The SR9c feels flawless by the way. Only way to really tell is to stop by any gun store and they would be happy to let you hold it, dry fire it. I knew I was going to buy mine as soon as it touched my hand.

  • @hellbilly232 also ghost inc. has released an aftermarket trigger for the SR9 with 3 different options ranging from 3.5lbs to 5.5 I believe. They are also designed to reduce trigger overtravel and debris buildup in the trigger mechanism.

  • @DAB0690 Yep I have the Ghost Ultimate in mine and it is awesome big props to Ghost!

  • @hellbilly232 though i do not have one, i think i want one and have been doing some research...apparently there have been some talk about the "crappy" trigger pull based upon a few things: lbs pull, "gritty" feel on squeese, and the length of the pull. All of these forum posts were back in 2008 so im assuming by now they've fixed all of these problems. For me personally the smaller the pull and the lighter = better.

  • awsome shooting man what were u shooting at exactly? im curious cause i have a ruger p95 and cant hit crap with it lol or any handgun for that matter

  • If you could hunt with a 9mm you could definetely use that thing. Surpised you hit it as many times as you did.

  • Do you know of a good duty holster for the ruger p95? maybe a safariland?

  • i think i might have made a decision to buy this over a glock. purely for aesthetic reasons, i mean ive been told by a lot of people to go glock but for some reason i just dont like the look of them. looks here like ive found a pistol thats very close to your "glock standard" and it looks good too.

  • Got a blackened Ruger SR9 about six months ago. Love it! The only times I had issues with it was when using Remington UMC hollow points. Had few stove pipes. What brand/weight of ammo are using in this video?

  • He's using blazer ammo....which I believe is aluminum casing...probably 115 grain FMJ.

  • @thejoevirus

NICE SHOOTING INDEED ! YOU SHOULD SEE HICKOK45 SHOOT A GLOCK 23 AT 230 YARDS .

  • Hickok is amazing..and I love his dog, Ginger. -- Veri

  • @nutnfancy I know you're probably busy and won't answer back but I live in utah and I have know idea where to find places like this to shoot. Is all public land legal to shoot on if it's not protected? I'd love to get out of the gun ranges and go somewhere with scenery and freedom. I'm sure you of all people understand.

  • Dude I don't know but I'd sure check with the local authorities no matter what. Your average park ranger or police officer could tell you; I'd just call their non-emergency number.

  • I think you have convinced me to get one of these SR9s over a 92fs

  • I have both. The SR9 is very nice. I don't know how its feeding Blazer ammo. Mine doesn't like S&B, Loves Winchester white box though. The Beretta chews up anything you put in it. Mine feeds Wolf. But this is very true about the accuracy of the ruger. Very consistent. If you have small hands go with the ruger. If your a Gorilla like me get the Beretta.

  • @SniperShea yeah the Beretta is perfect for large handed shooters 'cuz it was designed for Italians lol. The new models have adjustable grips...

  • @Jaybird616

I bought mine after watching his tabletop and I'm nothing but impressed with it. I did have to do a little work to the mag release as it was a little gritty and hard to push, but I haven't heard anyone else complain about it.

  • What camera man? -- Veri (Nutn's sister)

  • I'm kidding around lol. Thanks for the review! Keep up the good work!

  • Rule 2) Never point your muzzle at anything you are not willing to destroy.

  • @TTEVAL he never said he didn't want to destroy his camera, which was the only thing there. :)

  • @BitFox I was referring to a) shooting appliances and b) the passing vehicle in the background.

  • @TTEVAL It was a tripod but i guess you wouldn't want to destroy that.

  • @Wodkaholic there is no camera man

  • @Wodkaholic If there was a camera man that person has an INCREDIBLY steady hand!

  • @cpahunter123 I'M JOKING!

  • @Wodkaholic :D I know

    ~cpahunter123

  • @Wodkaholic Lol I thought the same thing at first.

  • Factor :/

  • I just purchased my first gun and this was it. Thanks! You were the deciding factory.

  • Mine to. Shot VERY accurate at range compared to simialar 9's. Bought it today.

  • 22lr???

  • sorry forgot to rate 5 stars for you! Great vid.. Obviously a wise man who trains with a handgun at extended ranges.. fight with what you got. If ya only got a hand gun cuz your primary ran out.. if you trained for 15 yards or 25..to late.. they are already buying your body.

  • Nice shootin. But at 100 yards isnt really long range. I guess for some people it is. I shoot 1 foot square gongs at 200 yards wity P95 Beretta 92 FS.. See even he praises the use of "Long Range" shooting. You fight with what you have! You better be able to hit at more than 75 yards or more! train as you would FIGHT!

  • god damn your a good shooter for 100 yards with a pistol god damn, i wish i could shoot like that

  • anyone know where this vid is filmed?

  • Kronos, if you have a problem "shooting your foot off" then you probably either need to seek some professional tactical training, or consider not carrying a firearm.

  • i agree completely chewy, anything less is just a lack of proper tactical training. The only true "safety" is between your ears. If you don't use that one your screwed no matter how many buttons, levers, switches and gizmos are on the weapon.

  • SR9 has a trigger safety like the glock, but this isn't a real safety. SR9 has a real switch safety, glock doesn't. SR9 will not fire if you release the mag, the glock will, which means if a badguy grabs your gun and is about to get it away from you, you push the mag button and release it in a glock he can still shoot you with it but not with the SR9. Also SR9 has an indicator if a bullet is in the chamber. SR9 > glock.

  • Both are fine pistols, However if a bad guy grabs my gun, I'm going to start pulling the trigger, Not dropping the Mag. I own the SR9 and a Glock 23. Both have an indicator if there's a round in the chamber. If a person is a responsible gun owner, they don't need an external safety switch. IMO it gives you a false security.

  • GLOCK. no substitute.

  • yeah, if you want to shoot your foot off.

  • I love all the work this guy's done reviewing guns - it's been helpful to me. However, a piece of advice: a lot of shooters don't like having guns pointed at them, even in video. It's just a psychological thing...

  • Nice put your hand in front of the muzzle 2:00

  • The trigger has a safety feature built in to it , plus the gun was empty.

  • Makes me want one! Great Vid, Nutnfancy!

  • magnums will go further than 9mm or 40c with more accuracy and velocity. because the cartridge is longer and has more power

  • Awsome shooting, I purchased a SR9 about a month ago for just under 400.00 bought it lightly used less then 75 rounds through it, and came with 5 mags. This gun is accurate and very inexspencive. Its a great gun for the price you cain't beat it!!!!!

  • Dude that was impressive, hats off especial if you didn't practice that all day. Good on you

  • neat!

  • That is a slow moving round.

  • I just purchased the SR9 in black stainless and I can also confirm that this pistol is very accurate. At 15 yards I was grouping in about a 2" radius and it was straight out of the box. This review really made me feel like I made a great purchase. By the way, great shooting and like always, shoot straight and shoot safe.

  • omg!! did u see him point the gun rite at the camera with no one behind it!!! hahaha jk jkj jk ... figured i would be the first person to say something.. just kiding nutin!!

    great shooting!!

  • I am curious, if you find a pice of public land out in the desert, are u allowed to shoot there?

  • DAM!!! DUDE THAT'S AWESOME SHOOTN !!

  • i dont like the saftey on the trigger. Wouldnt the trigger pull be a lil weird?

  • Nutn, this may be a insignificant suggestion, or more of a beg/plea rather than a suggestion, but it would be neat if you would mention the ammo brand or bullets you are trying out when doing shooting reviews. Maybe you feel it would deter from the information you're offering, but it's good to hear if you had success with a certain round while testing. I realize you're probably not experimenting, but I just think it would add some to the table top & shooting reviews. Shoot safe, and shoot often!

  • He did mention the ammo was 115gr. CCI Blazer stuff. Said this in part 1.

  • Thank you, I remember that now (been awhile).

  • Love the review. I'm new to the gunworld as I just bought my first(Glock 23 .40 caliber). After watching this review I'm thinking my next handgun will definately be the Ruger SR9. I appreciate the quality and thought put into your reviews. They are well thought out and very informative. Keep up the good work!!!

  • First few shot missed. Either behind or infront

  • man can shoot

  • if you could you should set up some gelatin at that range n see what kind of damage it does

  • Wow great shooting Nutn!!!! I couldn't hit that if I tried lol!!!

  • Ur pretty good shot.....

  • now this is the range im talking about nice brother.

  • Thanks for posting long range pistol shooting videos... I've been doing it for years and actually had a falling out with a friend who got mad becuase I shot a Glock 35 with the 3.5lb disconnect and Henie Target sights on paper at 100 yards at Long Range Alley... I sent this video too him.

It's VERY important to practice at long ranges with a handgun becuase you will dramatically improve your trigger control and it makes shooting at 10, 15, 25 yards enjoyable.

  • I ducked at 0.08!

  • hahahahaha!

  • @hongkongflip If you ducked while watching a video, youre a moron.

  • They modified the trigger shortly after the recall!! If you own one that hasnt been modified you can send it into ruger and have them install one completely free! and they send you a free 17 round mag!!! nice video by the way!!!

  • The ruger sr9 trigger recall dont mean shit! and I have had no problems with the slide or trigger!!!! And the 17 round mags are great!!!!!

  • can you do a video on you using your knife from the mounting position you have it in? I would like to see you you re-sheath

  • ahh utah

  • Very much appreciate your vids, long- winded or not, they have/ will save us money!!

  • i've read a lot of stuff on the internet about these guns having problems with the slide and barrel, not to mentino the trigger recall.

anyone reading this have this gun and if so have you had any major issues with it??

lastly, hows the trigger feel compared to a glock??

  • matt..i have had my SR9 since Thanksgiving, almost 1000 rounds, not one hang up in the gun. Mine is a post recall and its sweet.

  • I love my Ruger P85 but the Springfield XD's can't be beat. I've seen people try out an XD45 and end up selling their HK USP's the next day. BTW your outfit is a little too much. Nice videos thanks.

  • my friend has a 9mm xd . he shot my new ruger p95 and he fell in love with it....infact he is going to buy a p95...

  • fantastic! love your vids

  • nice aim

  • you rock

  • dude you are an amazing shot! -respect

  • what kind/Brand ammo was used in this video????

  • 9mm i think

  • 9mm, 115 grain blazers

    :P

  • I wasn't sure if there was a differnent model, my sr-9 is 9mm

  • Aluminium Blazer 115 gr.

  • What kind/Brand of ammo was used?

  • i love the way you point the gun at the camera all the time...makes me nervous

  • Another great revies. Thanks for all your hard work. Rucer guns rock!

  • Dude, I really like your reviews, I live in Canada...so ya know what that means!!! Nonetheless, keep up the good work, recently bought a Ruger SR9(before i saw your review), totally agree, what a nice Piece.

  • dude i need to move to fuckin nevada... buy me a fuckin uzi.... too bad im canadian... fuck....

  • thanks for all the great reviews! keep up the good work

  • I really appriciate your review on this gun. I need a review of the CZ 75b. I have heard alot of good things of what this .40/9mm has to offer. I was wondering how it compares to the sig and beretta. If you can get your hands on one i bet ya you will be amazed as to what i have read it is the best.

  • I've been going over a number of your videos and I'm finding them to be very informative and useful to me. I appreciate your emphasis on safety and clearing the gun before doing anything. One note, though - you're shooting without eye or ear protection! Seems strange with your safety emphasis. All the great gear in the world won't help you see or hear if you're blinded or lose your hearing after a lifetime of shooting.

  • Very nice video. Althou, Im not a big fan of plastic framed pistols. 1911s all the way! I guess I'm going to become the minority pretty soon with the introduction of more and more plastic framed guns.

  • Polymer bro, Polymer.

  • Yah, my tupperware is made out of polymer, too. :)

  • Yah, My tupperware is made out of polymer, too. :)

  • haha, touche, touche.

  • What don't you like about polymer framed guns?

  • That was impressive!

  • Nice shooting, Where you using some home loads or factory stuff?

  • The camera is a person?

  • excellent shooting! great vid!

  • These videos are great. You're an awesome teacher.

  • Love your videos. I need to know more about your range finder!

  • I live in California. Ruger said they would try to get the SR9 into Cali. I sure hope so as I am a big Ruger fan. Do you know how it stacks up against the P89 or the P95? Ruger gave a definate NO to the for sale in California of the small 380. Too bad. Thanks. Great Ruger Review. Sincerely, JAMES.

  • picture this man with a beard and speaking arabic.... suddenly, he is evil...

  • Now that was a very good review. Not only talking about, what one would see in the its specifications anyway, but actually shooting. Nice.

  • i want to see you shooting your Glock 17 :)

  • Nutnfancy, you are the man. Lol. Very nice shootin. Bad guys would be feeling the hurt if you were layin down the suppressive fire. Overall I would agree, the SR9 looks like an impressive offering. Glade to see Ruger updating. Putting some lead downrange in the desert sun. Awesome, hope we some more of this action. Jet over and out PS- are you taking my line? You prob had it first, Lol, hope you dont mind.

  • Excellent information and quite glad that Ruger's made improvements in their semi-auto line. Problem is, while I remember their very first P85s being utter junk, their recent SR9 recall over a trigger issue does little to instill confidence in their design and testing process(looks like they went with the Glock, safe-action, style trigger mechanism.) I think I'll stick with Glocks, H&K, and SA for semi-autos and Ruger for SA revolvers.

  • Gotta say... Im impressed.

  • Good shooting dude. Looks like a great place to shoot. Thanks for the gun vids.

  • I'd really like to see some actual target shooting with the Glocks, Sigs and HK's at long range. My late Step-dad was in Nam, and was one HELL of a pistolero and was a hardcore revolver man. I saw him consistantly shoot 8 inch steel plates at 150+ yds. with a 6" S&W .357 and 200+ with a 10 1/2 Ruger Superblackhawk .44. and this was with factory sights. Guess thats where I get my long range shooting passion from. Keep the vids coming dude, you ROCK!

  • Great to see someone else shooting a defense pistol at long range! I've got an original S&W Sigma (SW9C) that I consistantly fill headshots on silhouettes at 75+ yds. and My FS USP .40 does the same but groups them tighter! Keep them coming!

  • Your reviews always make my day. Keep it up bro. Really excited about your "tactical clinic" vids.

  • nutnfancy rocks

  • real john wayne.......i wonder how a over the sholder shot would come out???

  • Good video and shooting. Not a fan of Ruger auto's but it looks like it did well.

  • man thats awsome 104 yards

  • ya first good vid
