simplesmente genial! mantendo as expectativas altas para o novo album, que tarda em sair, mas que quando acontecer, creio que vai oferecer mais um precioso contributo para aquilo que eu considero arte como música, música como arte... é um deleite metafísico...
Radio head have grown quite a bit since releasing their first album. They have successfully changed their sound with each album. Judging from this track the next albums should be killer!
These is a great song, and don't take me wrong with what I'm about to say, but this sounds so inspired by portishead THIRD, is very similar to the track 'Silence', which is not a bad thing since THIRD was one of the best albums of 2008. This only shows how much commitment RH (especially yorke) into growing as musicians and develop and experimt with new sounds
there is virtually no limit to the level of growth RH can achieve, there's just another band I can compare RH with and that's The Beatles as they not only developed different sounds and experimented with them, but the made them work...phew nice blog lol
@Charlieepy that's pretty much true ... for me, every time i listen to them, i just feel the genuine joy. Songs like Nude, Videotape, How to Disappear Completely etc.
You can feel, more than hear, that they're giving their best efforts to make something unique.
Not bad... but since Kid A I've come to always expect too much from Radiohead's songwriting.
Both OK Computer and Kid A blew my mind. But now they'll probably have to put out a song with an orchestral string session if I'm to feel that excited about them again.
I was replying to oOhecOo, who said Radiohead sounds always the same. That's the stupidest thing you can say. I can't think of any other band that has changed and evolved more than Radiohead. When I said Pablo Honey and Amnesiac sounded the same I was aiming for the biggest disparity I could find between albums from the same band and there it is; if you think the sound the same you can listen to any album, but especially those two, they are completely different
Dark and beautiful. Hate to get all excited bcuz I'm a grown man, but glad to see there are so many other people out there that appreciate this amazing art on the weird levels I do. Sounds like we RH is going back a few albums, Usually after a release I have to listen to it about 100 times to get the marrow out of it.
fucking GREAT! radiohead never ceases to amaze me. and i loved In Rainbows, but this sounds like it could be on Hail to the Theif or Amnesiac. which makes me feel all giddy inside.
oooh man how i love radiohead. the music always has a warm loney feel to it as weird as that isounds. like, you can be all alone and listen to them and feel warm, secure but a sense of meloncholy.
pues no es por nada, pero este podria ser perfectamente un single del último trabajo del grupo español los planetas, qe sacaron hace un par de años y qe tiene el mismo sonido y la misma atmosfera qe este tema.
Maybe U2 pulls more people to their concerts because the greater populace consists of douchebags and of people who dont know the difference between punk and that alternative boy band shit.
uh U2 used to be a good band ...to say they still make good music is incorrect in my opinion. The last two records BLEW NUTS. And the one before that only had one or two good songs. They do pop songs now. Radiohead has only gotten better over time. They aren't for everyone though I guess
I really like this. The trippy, Arabian-sounding guitar effects fit nicely.....in fact, the riff reminds me just a little bit of Go To Sleep from Hail To The Thief. Of course, Thom's voice is always top notch, boasting that spacey feeling from 15 Step and Weird Fishes. Good song.
Radiohead shouldn't be considered an amazing band or the greatest thing since porn with DP in it. It's simply Radiohead. There is nothing like it and it takes appreciation to enjoy Radiohead. When I was younger I thought they were fucking weird but now, I love em. And thats without traumatic rape-like life experiences. Coldplay, I like em, they are a great band to watch live but please, dont be a fucking twat, Radiohead is leaps and bounds greater.
that might just be the funniest thing in the entire world.. saying that U2. U2. U2. U2?????? is better than.... RADIOHEAD???? wow.. i think i just shit my pants.. U2 doesn't even come close to Radiohead's brilliance.. i'm actually just gonna stop while i'm ahead!!
i believe the greater populace of the world would agree with me mate. i never said radiohead were bad im just making a judgement made through observations such as U2's ability to continuously produce great albums over a 30 year period. their ability to last throughout 3 decades is saying something in itself.
oh and plz show me the greater poulace of the world that would say U2 is a better band than Radiohead.. bc that is a joke. i'm usuallynot an argumentative person but saying that U2 is superior to Radiohead really makes me angry. it's ok.. you'll develop, soon enough, over time, good taste in music and really recognize the finer things in it.. don't fret
not to mention their new record of hosting the largest concert at wembley, quite a feat personally. this also indicates the sheer number of supporters U2 have. i highly doubt radiohead could pass a similar test of time or pull the same numbers as a U2 concert.
the amount of popularity has nothing 2 do with nething.. U2 sucks. alot. prolly 1 of the gayest bands ever. & of course ur going 2b biased bc ur british.. Radiohead is 1 of the best bands 2 date & i could say the most versatile at that. every album of theirs has been incredible. esp looking at inrainbows which in my opinion is their best album w/ ok computer.. just so sick.. and it just shows what an amazing band they r. that even after 6 albums they can make such a phenomenal album as IR
welcome to the internets, there are so many morons, that sarcasm is pointless as so many web users have such ridiculous opinions, its beautiful in a way
I'm delighted!!!!!My fav album is Kid A. so its not a surprise)) i've listened to this song for.... devil knows how many times already, I like this kind of style. sounds like In Rainbows continuation a little
God, how I miss the Radiohead of the mid-90's....What happened to the dense, crunchy guitar rockers like "Just" and "Climbing the Walls"? Where's the soaring, atmospheric sensibilities of a "Street Spirit" or "Karma Police"?....Damn, nostalgia sure can be a bitch....
as they changed as people, they would change as musicians. personally, i prefer kid a/amnesiac, but i wouldn't complain about the direction they've taken. who am i to say they should remain stagnant musically?
that to me is their best feature. that almost every album sounds different than the last. its like they come up fresh every time. and that way their music reaches out to more people too. people can say they like ok computer but not hail to theif or something. tough personally i like every single one. and all the EPs. lol
I know thom is going to read the comments, so this is for him:

Well, HTTT is more like a nightmare (not in a bad way). This here sounds quite a lot like OK Computer/Kid A.
only your opinion...Muse is a very very bad copy of radiohead and Coldplay is pretty good but compared to Radiohead it's like comparing Rolling Stones with the Beatles...That's only my opinion...
dude, jonny is number 59 and ed is 60 on the rollingstones top hundred guitarists of all time. in my opinion jonny would be be higher. I do agree matt is great. I love muse. But I love Radiohead the most. If is had to go deaf except to listen to one band it would be radiohead. and i would be perfectly content. so for all the radiohead fans like me i think i can say you can cram that "can't say that bout radiohead" up your ass. Belamy wasnt even on that rollingstone list by the way.
comparing stones and beatles??think there`s no difference in quality between these two extraordinary bands - it`s just that the category of quality is different! it`s like comparing apples and pears -a question of taste!
I love harry patch in memory off but this is way to dreary, there is no gutt wrenching riff, solo or chorus.... its too much of a concept piece, even for Radiohead.
This definitely sounds like Radiohead. Probably an incomplete version. Maybe this is a demo, but I know that it's good for drinking red wine too! Very relaxing. Hope they go ahead with plans for an eight album.
This doesn't sound like a recent, completed track. Radiohead's released material tends to sound more polished and complete, which is especially apparent on In Rainbows. This track, although excellent, strikes me as a jam, or an idea, not a finished track. The structure is so jam-like and the guitars are so noodling! Not a bad thing, I just don't think this is a final product.
This song is very dreary and actually has nothing to it. It's like modern art, well thought out but boring. Whatever happened to their paranoid android style? It completely disappeared...
this is a great song, they always seem to surprise me. From the sounds of This song and the new one thom yorke sang at lattitude, they have a very cool sound being created
The intro sounds a lot like the transition from "Kid A" to "The National Anthem".
Plus you can hear the style of drumming drastically change as the song starts.
I really hope this EP is released in CD format, sod downloads. I want to blast this from my high quality speakers in my bedroom.
Plus my computer tends to break every 6 months for some reason, meaning I'd have to wipe the hard drive, deleting the EP. CD's are far more reliable, plus I admire CD art.
yep...i also admire the cd art.... i would like that even if it was only for download though they would put an artwork for download because they always have nice artwork!.. oh...what i usually do so i don´t lose anything i burn a cd with the files every once in a while and i have it on my ipod the software sharepod it is useful!!! peace!
Anyone think the reverse guitar from about 1:18-1:42ish sounds a bit like the music in the Spirit Temple in Ocarina of Time...? Just me?!

dude, jonny is number 59 and ed is 60 on the rollingstones top hundred guitarists of all time. in my opinion jonny would be be higher. I do agree matt is great. I love muse. But I love Radiohead the most. If is had to go deaf except to listen to one band it would be radiohead. and i would be perfectly content. so for all the radiohead fans like me i think i can say you can cram that "can't say that bout radiohead" up your ass. Belamy wasnt even on that rollingstone list by the way.

comparing stones and beatles??think there`s no difference in quality between these two extraordinary bands - it`s just that the category of quality is different! it`s like comparing apples and pears -a question of taste!

this isn't the memorial to harry patch. this is something completely different.

Same, it'd be a real loss if the reports of them quitting recording albums is true.

guys this is the track for the new vampire movie er whatever. new moon or twightlight ... whateves its called.

It kind of reminds me of "The Bends", "Hail To The Theif", and "In Rainbows" altogether.

reminiscent of the Amnesiac b-sides, which were mind blowingly brilliant.

it has like a kind of reckoner tempo with amnesiac mellow sounds. It's great but i can't wait to hear the other songs

yep! but doesn´t it sound like the end of another song? i think so! woi on monday...PLEASE!

JaggedSplinter 2 years ago 3
yep...i also admire the cd art.... i would like that even if it was only for download though they would put an artwork for download because they always have nice artwork!.. oh...what i usually do so i don´t lose anything i burn a cd with the files every once in a while and i have it on my ipod the software sharepod it is useful!!! peace!

It also sounds like the intro to Go Slowly from IR disc two.

This sounds a lot like "Knives Out" from "Amnesiac".
I'm already in love with this song, it's so damn edgy. I'm incredibly hyped for their eighth album now.
