Of course this video has babies in it; the meaning means "Child falling asleep". Oh, this brings back memories...This was my favorite song on the lullaby CD I used to listen to when I was little...and the piano element stuck with me!

The bay face on the cover is quite wrong. These are more - I'd say from about 5 to 10. They were composed for grown ups to appreciate, Their structure is complex Schumann was basically a story teller, but he was furious when people took the titles too seriously. He composed a string of small scale pieces and selected the Childscenes from them and only then gave them titles. They require the utmost maturity in pianists.

That's the actual tempo (i.e. how it's written). Many people only play it at half speed.

well actually, schumann's metronome was a malfunctioning one, so all of his tempo markings were off. he didnt really want it to be that fast.

Ah! An insight into Schumann's metronome. It depends on interpretation. Just because you don't like it this fast, doesn't mean others don't. I've seen it at 110/crotchet) which is even faster than this.

Nice pictures that show the mood of the piece of music, but the thing is, Kinderszenen (a.k.a scenes from childhood) really for baby's? All the songs in kinderszenen are harder to play than album for the young.
