  • Thanks for the music and the memories Abbey!

  • It's interesting that the jazz people like Abbey Lincoln were singing and composing songs about civil rights and black pride years and years before R&B singers finally got around to writing songs like "On Could Nine" and "Say It Loud, I'm Black and I'm Proud."

  • Rest In Peace. Thank you Abbey Lincoln for the wonderful music.

  • RIP Abbey.

  • May she rest in peace.

  • RIP dear Abbey.

  • RIP Ms. Lincoln.

  • R.I.P. Abbey Lincoln (Aminata Moseka).

  • R.I.P.

  • Niiiice!!

  • I learned that this is the very first vocal version of "Afro Blue".

That 1959 album is fabulous, an iconic album in jazz!

  • @wimpers - Iconic for good reason! It's a must have! :-)

  • Thank you. Brilliant artist!

  • Thanks for posting this. And you are right. F the GOP.

  • @sistalinda

I'm a Republican and I love jazz, so there

  • @MarinJazz Booyaa. I guess you told me.

  • @MarinJazz - Then other than loving jazz - you have nothing in common with Abbey Lincoln. The GOP has fought tooth and nail against EVERYTHING Ms. Lincoln stood for.

    Have a nice day.

  • @ftheGOP

You are obviously unfamiliar with what Eisenhower did for the civil rights' movement.

Jackie Robinson was a Republican, too.

  • @MarinJazz - Why is that republicans have go back 5 decades to find one positive achievement? Eisenhower and Jackie Robinson would be kicked to the curb by todays GOP/TeaTerrorists.

    Have a nice day.

  • wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ABBEY
