  • You really can’t go past Tikka for out of the box accuracy. I have a Tikka Stainless lite chambered to .223 that I use for field rifle. Without any mods to the rifle, it shoot .55 MOA all day. The best load I have, so far, is ADI brass, 52gr Hornady A-Max & 21.5gr’s of Benchmark 2. It seems a funny match up but the rifle seem to love it.

My next project is a .308 long range tac & I am seriously thinking about using a Tikka action to build it around.

    By the way, Nice shooting.

  • Limp Bizkit? Seriously?

  • you got that rifle running right nice shooting . i reload 22/250 a bit of target but mostly lamping fox. I have been looking in to getting to change to 204 what you think for fox shooting and nock down power? Also that speet you get out of you 204 with what bullet . Also i could go 20 TAC no problem as i reload what speed you get out of that with what bullet?

would like to here your thorts on this thanks

  • the aussies know how to shoot aye

  • Tikka's are a good rifle being made at the Sako factory. However the only let down is they are only available in one action which can present a problem with hand loading some projectiles and getting them out to the lands. In that price range Tikka are by far the best.

  • Nice trace.

  • I have the Tikka Stainless Varmint in the same calibre. I reload all of my ammo, but can't get any 40 or 39 grain bullets to stabilize. Have you tried shooting heavier bullets?

  • Class vid.

  • How do you get that good of grouping with you target swaying like that.I call bullshit

  • Hi! Very good videos. What video camera model you used? What is its maximum zoom? Did you use any filters, f.e. UV or polarizing?

  • Holy shit you can see the bullet flying through the air..

  • love it man thats good.

  • hey, i was thinking of getting one of these but im not sure of the differences between the varmint and the super varmint models. Could you please help me?

  • Damn if only .204 was affordable :(

  • @oafaloaf My gun shop has Hornady .204 32 gr. V-Max factory ammo for $16.95 per box of 20

  • Wow and I love the music choice at the start

  • So that's how you get accuracy out of the 40 grain V-Max, an 8.5 twist barrel. I have the factory tikka varmint gun the same as in your vid. I just got it and I have only put factory ammo through it, I am just starting to hand load some cartridges and the info in your vids has been very helpful. Are the 32g V-max and 40 grain nosler your number one choice of projectile for the 11.8 barrel? Any other tips your could give me that is not in your vids would be greatly appreciated.

  • Great shooting. I'm also researching the T3 in .204 ruger. Can you tell me what barrel length you had and what muzzle velocity you were achieving.

  • Accurate! 204

  • WHOA THAT WAS SO FUCKIN DOPE ! u could see the space around it bend !

  • @iTzSissyGirl...Do I see that right? Is the bullet goiing down on the plate?

  • I have a Tikka T3 as well with NF Scope (mines only the 2.5-10x variable though).

What rings are you using for your scope, and what is the brand of bipod you are using?

    Thanks for the great vid.

  • Awsome vid!! Love the fact you can see the bullet swirl as it goes to the target! Good shooting by the way!!

  • Wow, nice rifle and nice shooting!

  • How many grains of the adi at2206h are are you using with the 32 grain vmax

  • I dunno why but I'm fascinated by the vapor trails... Can't get tired of it !

  • I am looking to buy one of these 204's, what brand do you recommend ? Also, I cant do the reloading thing, so what factory ammo would you recommend? Thanks and Nice shooting !

  • @47927411D Factory ammo is nasty stuff. I didn't want to do reloading either at first but I am so glad I did. If you want to settle for factory ammo then I would choose any brand that uses either the 32 grain V-Max or the 40 grain Nosler projectiles. I know Federal use the 39 grain Sierra projectile but it's not stable past 400 yards in 1:12 twist factory barrels. Good Luck.

  • @iTzSissyGirl

Factory ammo is not nasty stuff lol. You can get some very good factory ammo now.

My savage 112 22-250 shoots Federal 55gr game kings better than any of my hand loads. Its under 0.3" MOA. The best handload I have is 0.55 MOA

  • @iTzSissyGirl I just got back from dialing in mine at the range. The Tikka .204 is just insanely accurate. Mine shoots the Hornady factory 40 grns very well. The Remington accutips shoot a bit flatter but the Hornadys group better.

  • @47927411D The caliber was produced by Ruger and Hornady. I shoot Hornady 32gr. V-Max in the Tikka T3 that these guys are shooting. Same result here. Unreal. Very Impressed at what that rifle will do.

  • @47927411D i dont use federal after the primer blew strait out of its well in my tikka t3 varmint 22-250 lucky i was at the range now i use remington but i want to start getting in to hand loading

  • (iTzSissyGirl) When you say action bolts torqued is 45 in. lbs. Does torquing them to much are to little hurt the accuracy of the rifle. I ask this because i have a tikka in 25-06 that does not shoot the groups it use to, after it was taken a part and cleaned.

  • Awesome shooting!

  • Excellent, I will be testing my 204 savage at 625 soon

  • If the TIKKA corporation ever what to make a commercial to promote there T3 rifle, they will have EVERYTHING they need to do it right here... Is that a standard scope mount or a 20MOA? Crystal clear video and great shooting! Congrats!

  • if you dont mind me asking how much did you pay for this scope??

  • @12sem12 you can see the bullet

  • 4:24

ha you can see the vapor trail.

    p.s. how far Was that?

  • Did you get the factory set trigger?

  • @youbr14 No modifications at all to this rifle. I have rebarrelled since this video to a .20 Tactical which is more advanced.

  • @iTzSissyGirl Ive heard of alot of guys switching to .20 tac, isnt it lower velocity? Why switch?

  • @snowyphil65 The reason I swithched is because it uses less powder to achieve the same velocities. The .204 Ruger was giving me a headache with its noise and I wanted something more advanced. I have two .20 TAC rifles, one built on a Tikka Tactical action with 1 in 8.5 twist and one built on the Tikka Super Varmint action with 1 in 10 twist. The 8.5 twist barrel shoots the 40 grain V-Max with astonising accuracy. My groups average about 0.08 - 0.18" at 100 yards using ADI Benchmark 2 powder.

  • .88" at 500 yards is 1/8th moa!

  • HAHA Waste of steel man. Should have just used a 2" plate :-) well done.

  • wicked music at start

  • i swear to can see the bullet at 4:04

  • хорошо, что на дистанции никого небыло )))))

  • thats outrageous, good shooting mate

  • Did you do any special modifications to the rifle or stock? Glass bedding etc.?

  • @iviaverick52 No, I just focused on matching the brass to the rifle. I set the dies at a specific distance off the shellholder, I only use FL sizing dies, I use the same shellholder every time I reload, I only reload if the humidity is below 50% and of course I have a favourite load for the rifle plus I only use 40 Nosler varmint projectile because they suit the 300mm twist (11.8").

  • @iTzSissyGirl Awesome, guess that goes to show that if some people would spend less time throwing money at their rifles to "accurize" them and more time experimenting with loads they would see better results for less cash. Good to know.

  • god bless your trigger finger

  • grow a dick pin dick. Why try bullshit people sayin our grey roos weigh 85kg? your a fukn tool mate. You've obviosly never shot and weighed one. Your a retard mate.

  • @campo131 I never wrote that they weigh 85kg - that was yarrahapinni. These are the poeple I have to deal with.

  • sick vid nice shooting

  • Great stuff boyz

  • a grey roo 85kg???? your off your head mate

  • @yarrahapinni You have obviously never used a .204 Ruger. HA ha. Are you an old fart?

  • @yarrahapinni Grow a brain you dumbass.

  • @yarrahapinni The one I shot at 470 yards weighed 54 kilo grams

  • thats amazing i hope i can get one some day

  • All I can say is....DAMN!!! .88" group at 500 yards! I say DAMN again!

  • Mate that's fantastic! I too am buying one of these, can't wait!

  • Damn mate! how far are you shooting out there?!

  • but sub 1 moa at 500 yards is downright ridiculous

  • can you actually kill anything with a 204 other then rabbits? I mean that is tiny

  • @TownPiligan14 The biggest game i've shot at distance is a Eastern Grey Kangaroo at 470 yards through the heart. It went down instantly. Within 220 yards, the more advanced 40 grain V-Max will do massive damage to Kangaroos, goats, foxes (I've seen a fox almost cut in half!), rabbits and crows (crows that are hit in the chest plate will be virtually vapourized.

  • @iTzSissyGirl i'm in the states and haven't seen a kangaroo before, how big is an eastern grey kangaroo?

  • @TownPiligan14 about 85kg

  • @TownPiligan14 My gunsmith hunts deer with his, only out to two hundred yards but they drop right away. All I use mine for is coyotes and prarie dogs.

  • @TownPiligan14 There's a user submitted photo on dpmsinc.com of a guy that dropped a 2,000 lb bull buffalo with a .223. If someone can do that I'm sure you can kill plenty with a .204 if you are a good enough shot.

  • do u hunt in australia beacuse i hunt in a little place cherbourg in QLD

  • @Aussiehunter100 Yeah, I hunt in a place called Bingara, NSW. I got a Tikka Tactical fast twist .223 with 1x tasco red dot sight for hunting goats.

  • @Aussiehunter100 Is that just near Morgon?

  • @Aussiehunter100

    yer it is

  • GOOD HIT GOOD HIT!!!!

  • Man, that's just great, i'm considering getting a Tikka in 6.5x55 here, and yours is showing some SERIOUS accuracy!!

Awesome gun, awesome video keep going!

  • This is my favorite long distance video on YouTube. I too have a 204 in Remington 700 vls with a nikon monarch 5-20x44. I have killed about 30 groundhogs this year so far with it and does a great job.

  • Lovely great vapor trails...

  • Nice 1 mate! Awesome setup! Gr8 shooting!

  • Prolly My Favorite Shooting Video Out There. Really wish It was longer The Video Editing was superb The Shooting Was Superb. Went And Bought my self a 204 yesterday.

  • great stuff you guys...i've been looking at buying a ruger 204 tikka t3 super varmint with a Leupold VX3 6.5-20X50 scope now its a go.

    So thanks for the vid.

  • great video , enjoyed that a lot. nice shooting. rifle set up A plus.

  • You mentioned that you were putting a 1:8 twist barrel on your T3 SV. Can you give some info., make, length, weight etc. I'm interested because I have the same rifle and can't get any 40gn. projectiles to stabilise including V-Max & Nosler. Like you I've found the 39gn B.Kings (molyd) (28.6gns AR 2208) perform well out to 400mtrs. but drift after that. Also, with the Freedom Reaper 20MOA mount, did you have any elevation problems over shorter ranges?

  • How do you like that Freedom Reaper mount? I ordered one for my AR15 A2.

  • @NWguy83 Love it and so will you.

  • How do you adjust the bottom metal screws since their not allen key?

  • @Calum041095 They are TORX screws. You can buy the drivers and driver bits at any hardware store such as Bunnings here in Australia.

  • @iTzSissyGirl cool thanks:)

  • Fantastic, Awesome, Extreme Accuracy!!! It's not just the gun that gets the shots done. There is a great marksman there too! And that comes from practice. Hats off to you. I'm not real familiar with the Tikka T3. Is the barrel a factory barrel in sporter taper?? Because if it is, I'm buying a Tikka next. A rifle like that would make an excellent carry varmint rig. I definately like. Thanks for the video.

  • Awesome shooting and video! Have you experimented at all with the torque settings on the action?

  • @mckay5858 Since this video was made I have found that 40 in. lbs. on the forward action bolt and 35 in. lbs. on the rear action bolt gives the most consistant accuracy.

  • GOOD LORD!

  • 2:23 mins in haha that shits me off to. give them the shut the fuck up look and nod

  • Cant wait to get mine in .223 and its lefty :D btw Awsome shooting... the best shooting ive seen so far for a small calibre

  • Hey where abouts in Australia are you? Victoria?

  • i have a t/c encore with a heavy barrel. i neck size only as long as the rounds are for the the gun originally shot out of. this will help extend the life of your cases. right now i'm shooting 26 grain barnes varmint grenades with 26 grains of reloader 7. fps is around 4380-4400 and 3 shot groups at 100 yards is 1/4 inch.

  • @1shootingusa i could never get a vg to stabilize as well as a vmax (58 vmax and 62 vg) in my 243, did alright at 100 but fell to crap past 200, even keyholed a few with certain loads, both seem to do about the same amount of damage, im shooting a .204 now, havn't got to try too many loads with the .204 yet but shot .75 at 200 with factory loaded 40 gn hornady rounds, i love it, way better than my .243

  • Hey great video. Do you full length size your cases? or do you neck size them after fireing them?

  • @bzhfbz I always full length resize. If you know how to set the die to your chamber then it will always be more accuarte in my experience.

  • @iTzSissyGirl Thanks for the reply. I have been FL sizing. But I read about only neck sizing or bumping the shoulder 0.001". I picked up a Savage model12 LRPV duel port in 204 ruger. I only have 30 shots threw it so far but it shoots amazingly well. Today I shot a 0.23" 3 shot group 200 yards.

  • @bzhfbz Excellent group!

  • @iTzSissyGirl I posted some pics on accurateshooter

  • @iTzSissyGirl Another question. Did you turn the necks on your remington brass?

  • Nice Finnish rifle you got there mate..

  • @kokanokka Made in Finland!

  • hey mate just wondering how many grain charge you use with which projectiles? i have the tikka t3 lite in .204 and have been doin some reloading with 40grain hornady rounds...

  • @wrxboy2 I use the 40 grain Nosler projectiles. Even though its ballistic co-efficient is bad, it will still shoot flatter at great distance compared to the sierra 39 grainer or 40 grain V-MAX if you have a 1 in 12" twist. This Tikka T3 factory rifle is 1 in 11.8" twist (300 mm). I am having a 1 in 10 twist barrel put on this rifle so I can shoot the 40 grain V-Max and 39 grain Sierra projectiles out to 900 yards. It's at the gunsmith as I write this.

  • great shooting i noticed u have one of those balance bands or whatever they are called on your wrist ...... does that actually help .... i'm a bit sceptical that somehow it elps changes your magnetic feild and improves balance LOL

  • @winkel733 I don't know if it works but when I wear it I always shoot accurately. I seems to improve my balance if anything.

  • love the vapor trail !!!

  • Vapor Trail!

  • 1:20 is where i start to drool on this video, fuck i can't wait to get mine...

  • @iTzSissyGirl: I have no doubts that the group is tiny! I have watched it in HD, all I'm saying is that if you go to the trouble of measuring a group at 0.88", I'd sure as hell be putting up a picture of the group :-D

As for the BBQ plate, do the rounds go through them?? Cause my 39gn BK's went through the BBQ plate I used. It was a cast iron plate though.... I assume your's isn't cast but mild steel or something?

  • @spooler79 The steel plate is 5mm thick. Steel makes a better ting! than iron. Your right I should have recorded the group close up. They go through the plate at 300 yards or less. I actually tested the 40 noslers against the 39 sierra and believe it or not the noslers shot higher at distances greater than 400 yards. The noslers are more stable under 1:12 twist than the sierras at great distance.

  • Hey mate, great video. I have a 204 in a Savage Model 12 VLP as well as a Tikka T3 Varmint (243). Certainly impressive but got to ask...... where is the close up to 'prove' it's a 0.88" 3 shot group??? Seriously, not having a go but people are going to be skeptical. I shot a 4 shot group of 1.5 inches at 405 yards in windy conditions but the fifth copped a big gust of wind. There is a vid on my page but I'll repeat it with video when I get a tripod.

    What metal are your plates?

  • @spooler79 The plates are Steel 12.5"x19" BBQ plates. If you up the resolution to 1080 you can see clearly that the group is tiny.

  • @spooler79 Select 1080p and fullsceen it.

  • Could u give me some info on the Powerbuilt Digital Torque Adapter ?

    Looks like a great asset?

    Thanks Moneybags...

  • @SharpshooterAus The Super Varmint has only one sling swivel at the front and one at the back. You can attatch a sling to Harris bipods though. That's what I do. The Digital Torque Wrench can be bought of EBAY Australia and the seller is VEK TOOLS. Just type "Digital Torque Wrench" in the search box. Hope this helps.

  • One question, does the Super Varmint have the option for a bipod and a sling?

  • Hi i am looking at getting this rifle. I am trying to decide on getting the .204 or .223 or the .22-250. I was going to use it mostly for target shooting and small varmit hunting like coyotes. What caliber would you go with out of the three. Best shooting video on YouTube by the way. Why do you torque the action bolts to 45 in.lbs. last thin what model night force scope do you have and do you like it.

  • @rapala135 Don't get a 22-250 cause the blast is extreme and not justified, it has horrible barrel life also it's very inefficient meaning you don't get that much velocity per grain of powder. Before this rifle I owned the exact same rifle but in .223 1:12 twist and it was very accurate. The Tikka Tactical is 1:8 twist which means you can shoot the heavier 75gn A-MAX hornady bullets which will be better in the wind than the .204 but if you don't do that then get a 204 Ruger.

  • @rapala135 Scope is the NightForce NSX 5.5-22x56 ZeroStop Mil-Rad model.

  • @rapala135 I love my scope!

  • @rapala135 I torque the action bolts to 45 in. lbs. cause I found that it was most accurate configuration. I did 40 in the front 40 in the back then 40/45 then 45/45 and it was the best.

  • How did civilians become more accurate than military snipers?

  • Your bullet making skills are complete. Indeed you are accurate.

  • Comment removed

  • What made u decide on the .204 Ruger? Seeing all the video's on seriously thinking of the .223 cal. I still waiting on my licence ( sigh)

  • @SharpshooterAus I saw a guy shoot a rabbit with a .204 and it was the coolest thing i've seen - red mist. The .223 1:8 twist tikka is a pretty cool rifle cause you can shoot the 75gr. A-MAX which are good in the wind. But with the 204, the most i'll ever dial-in is 15 minutes-of-angle for bullet drop! I'm zeroed for 200 yards and I just point and shoot any varmints out to 240 yards.

  • yea great videos i'm thinking the same rifle but in the .308.I'm still undecided.

Whats the background music? love it!

  • @SharpshooterAus Before you get the .308 consider the 6mmBR or the .284 Win they are better in the wind and very accurate. The music is from IronMan movie and Halo: Reach (XBOX 360 video game).

  • @iTzSissyGirl

    thanks for the reply :-)

  • Hey mate looking at getting tikka t3 in just the varmint obviously you would recommened just tossing up whether to get the blued barrel or the stainless what would you suggest ? And are you happy with your stainless peformance and over all look.... oh great shooting too

  • @xxUrbanwookiexx I prefer the look of the blued barrels especially the fluted ones. However, if a blued barrel is in the sun it can become very hot which affects accuracy. If your only shooting at your rifle range and are always in the shade then a blued barrel is fine but if you are going to be shooting in the sun as well then i'd tell you to get the stainless.
