as someone who's been around newfs all my life. it's one thing to get them to obey and sit for their food, but how on earth did you control the slobber? lol
How gorgeous. Nice to see such a young pup with manners. If all dogs were trained properly like this from a young age there would be a lot less horror stories regarding dogs on the news. Not that you hear many bad things about newfoundlands; they are just lovely dogs. :)
Salomon (did I hear right?) Is just like our Newfie^^ when you tell him the command the first time he looks like he´s thinking:" You can kiss my ass!!" and after the second time:" This procedure is going to take the whole day! I better let her think that I obey her!;)
My mom and I had trouble teaching our Newfies, Rufus(8) and George(2) that. But, as soon as the food hits the bowl, the push their heads right in and don't stop until they finish.
AW!!! cute!! i taught my labrador to do this and once or twice, right after iv told her to wait the phone has rung, and the id forget and an hour later id go back to find the dog still waiting patiently, with a puddle of drool on the floor!!!
I taught My Newfoundland Lilly to do that When she was 9 weeks old, One time she got to excited and Bolted at the stand her Food and Water bowls were at and knocked it over.

My dog does this too, I think it's wonderful to teach them to wait, she also waits before going outside.

Every dog should be taught manners like this. It would certainly cure the "food aggression" problem so many dog owners complain about.

lol is that all the food u give them?
my newfie can eat like 10 bowls a day

Newfoundlands should only eat about as much as a Golden Retriever. If you're feeding him that much he's probably grossly overweight.
