around 45:00 he's talking about self-justification which is a basic concept of social psychology. you pay thousands of dollars for courses and then convince yourself that it's worthwhile because you spent so much money on it. hazing is another example of self-justification. you go through the hazing to join some organization, and then convince yourself joining was worthwhile because of what you just went through.
The most exceptional footage I've seen on the subject. So refreshing to hear someone speak in a down to earth way (swearing and all) about this most dangerous and deceptive of CULTS. I will add that I agree with an earlier post... ALL religion is this way. They all lie, cheat, steal, want power, control, world domination, and so on. If they think they are the KEY to a peaceful world, Don't you think they could drop the prices a bit?
Not saying FOR FREE, but god damn, some of these people are millionares! If they truely BELIEVED in what they preach, they could EASILY live off of aroudn 40 grand a year..
40 bucks a month! Yes a lot, but it is not a life commitement, and once I hit my "goal weight" i will become a life time member!
So even with WW, Iprobably won't end up spending more then 200 dollars! And even if I do, it would be WORTH IT.. and I could quit next month if I wanted to..
If TM were to do the same, I could try it out, If I TRULY enjoy it. I might come back, month after month..

Exactly, and if you've studied any of the major world religions seriously in a formal course, you've come to understand that all of them started as cults, from Christianity to Hinduism. All had a beginning and that beginning was seeded by a charismatic leader who gave people hope by playing on their fears, provided punishment for leaving the cult, and took their money without giving them a good or service. Christianity does it, Judaism does it, and Scientology does it. Destroy them all, I say

The irony to me is that there is this huge movement against Scientology, that is fairly well-accepted but where is the movement against Judaism, Islam, Christianity, and the others? Just something to think about. All of those religions also cause suffering, take peoples' money and give them nothing, and tear families apart. Everything the guy in this video is saying applies to any other religion; just replace "Scientology" with, say "Christianity" and see if that's not plausible. Think. :)
