Also east coast mutants are healthier and lack problems like warts, and are greenish yellow as apposed to grey. They also continue to grow and getter dumber with age unlike west coast mutants, and there face is forever locked in a grimace.

Thats why the master wanted to know where you're vault was in the first fallout, or second idr. @Stavros175ish Well the mutants in Fallout 3 were originally from the Masters army, though they split off after the ending of Fallout 1, they took refuge in Vault 87, since all of it's residents were heavily irradiated due to a Nuclear Bomb directly impacting the bunker. Therefore, the mutants in Fallout 3 were captured Wastelanders who were exposed to FEV, either becoming FEV Rejects (you can see them on medical beds in Vault 87) or becoming stupid Mutants.

They're not. None of them are from the Master's army, Vault 87 was just a place for FEV experiments. There were supposed to be audio logs of Fawkes before he was a super mutant detailing that he saw them performing experiments on people, but they were cut from the game. There's still a full text of them on the Fallout wiki. The Vaults withstand nukes, that's the whole point of being a vault and dug into mountains. Only the entrance is irradiated, not the whole inside.

There is a bit of a difference between the East and West Cost mutants. A super mutant's intelligence is related to their exposure to the FEV. Fallout 1 had mutants that were dumber than rocks, but they were the peons for the Master. The less exposer one has to the FEV the more intelligence they were. the East coast Super Mutants didn't understand this and just flooded everyone with the FEV.

Actually, this goes mostly for the First Gen, I think. The ones originally made by The Master in the West Coast. The West Coast 2nd Gen (made by the Enclave) actually were sterile, I think. They were dum-dums anyway.

East Coast (or Vault 87) muties on the other hand were sterile. Text files and all that found in Vault 87 clearly stated that the East Coast Super Mutants were agender AND sterile.

Everything exposed to FEV is sterile, because FEV "repairs" gametes and adds to them missing part of the DNA. So juices maybe flow but it will not help anybody =)

Some creatures, like deathclaws and various insects, have different type of gametes,so they still reproduce.

So called "born ghouls" are artificial clones, and there are only two of them. They are not exposed to FEV initially. One of the, Belle, indeed can get pregnant from human PC, and probably would have normal human child
