  • The Snes version had many many subtle changes to make it "fit" closely with the arcade... Background less detailed etc, not sure if they did the same with Megadrive/Genesis. But really, who cares! Amazing games pushing the boundaries back then... Long live the 90s block busters and thus leading the pack!

  • is it true that this version has smaller graphics than the super nintendo...the characters on the genesis version look smaller...is this true??? someone respond please

  • @Chepito2846

Should be the same size. The resolution may be playing tricks with our vision. Genesis games were usually 320x224 while SNES used 256x224, I believe.

  • i have this game!

  • people who prefer the SNES version would hate the arcade original , considering the music is very similar to the Genesis ver since they both use FM

  • Either someone thought it was racist that the black (Mike from SF1 = Mike Bison from SF2) guy gets hit OR Capcom wanted to show that Joe (SF1) and Cody (FF) are different characters.

  • Thanks for posting this vid. it really brings back memories.

  • Genesis version had no slowdown, Snes did, case closed.

  • The good thing about the Genesis version is that the graphics and sounds are closer to the arcade version.

  • @SourcererZ what you talking bout? the snes has far superior sounds, everyone in genesis sounds like they got strep throat

  • Comment removed

  • rumor has it, has a bit moar blood or "less censored than the snes version"

but i like both ^^__^^ even though i dont have the snes version anymoar nor the sega version

  • Too bad, snes versions don't have have this badass intro.

  • Stopped at 0:14

  • By that time, they realized how racist was putting a black man getting knocked out, so they put a white man.

  • @casualdrummer

It's not racist. The original intro just depicted a street fight between a black man and a white man, and the black man got knocked out. It's not racist or anything, but, assumedly, they didn't want to be accused of racism, so they changed it.

  • When Sagat does his Tiger Feint Kick, it looks like he's dancing. XD

(and am I the only one who wanted Balrog to rip his shirt off like he sometimes does?)

  • Creepy voices. :S

  • I always liked this version better. it even had the original arcade opening.

  • The music actually sounds more like the arcade.

  • What? Wasn't Mike black? (I mean during the intro)

  • he was. sega straight up racist!!! lol but for real i dont know why they changed it.

  • I always liked Balrog's board it was my favorite place to fight in

  • hehe genesis version got 2 white guys in intro, all other version got white nad black guy. lol oldskool idiotic stuff : o

  • Sega Genesis is Better then the SNES

    by automatic standards

  • @DrClay999 Hmm...The SNES version was actually voted the better of them by a majority of players and GamePro, who by the way rated it better than the 3DO SSF 2 Turbo in their review.

  • @calamaty Yeah but I still love my Sega, it is what I grew up with ^^

  • @DrClay999 How could anyone not love their Genesis.

  • @calamaty You sort of have to wonder how many of those people actually even played SSF2:T on a 3DO.

  • @dunnono00 The Gamepro editors rated the 3DO version in their magazine and mentioned it in their review (part of SNES Turbo being best translation and gameplay). As for players the few I knew that played it said the 3DO had good music but they usually played their SNES version of Turbo.

  • The guys that are fighting on the title screen. On the right is that Cody from Final Fight? But who's the one on the left?

  • Too bad the Genesis had an ass of a control scheme. You had to press start to switch between punches and kicks, what bullocks.

  • This year, Ryu should be 45

  • One of my favorite games of all time, man this brings back a lot of memoirs of the Genesis. I remember I paid $70 dollars for this game. (I had to do a lot of saving) I was in high school at the time.

  • I used to play this game all the time on my brother's Genesis when I was a kid. With all the button-mashing I did, it was a miracle when Ryu suddenly did a hadoken, or Vega did his wall climb and dive attack. Love the music and the little oddities (knocking Vega's mask/claw off, Barlog's ripped shirt after a perfect fight).

BTW, why is Ryu such a bastard to fight, even on easy mode (one star)?

  • 7 ft and 256 lbs for Zangief would make him heck skiny.!

  • THIS is the exact one that I had, wow I can't believe I found a video of this one.

  • Music's okay. Super Nintendo's better w/sound effects, but Genesis has better graphics

  • yes. this is awesome game :)

can you tell me how can i do sonic boom with guile? (sega megadrive II). but genesis version is ok too. please reply

  • Good Point!

  • wow those weights dont seem very accurate at all no way does zangief only weigh 2 pounds more than bison lol

  • Sega sacrificed the audio for better graphics. I'd still rather this version better than the Super Nintendo's

  • even with that, genesis/megadrive version has longer music

  • @nostuh34 Music, and Graphics are better.

  • @nostuh34 Genesis still has better audio in every game way smoother and crisper

  • thank u for this video! it brings back memories ! NO DOUBT the greatest video game of all time !

  • @CAMAROSS747 I agree these videos bring back memories
