the theory didnt disappear completely, for it still holds light on the theory of the displacement of lemurs. There are fossil remains in India but Lemurs are only found in Madagascar. but no fossils are found any where else.

Could be that Lemuria connected these two lands and fossil could be found on the continent, its just kind of hard to dig fossils up especially when the continent is said to have sank into the ocean.
