Toterra is easy to defeat, first, since his razor leaves will hit you in any direction you go, try jumping over them, then when he's just about to shoot, dash into him. Keep repeating that and you'll be just fine :D

um the reason thundershock doesnt work is beacause is because that pokemon with a tree on its back is half ground and of course ground is not affected by any sorts of thundershocks so dash or use iron tail to defeat him.
