  • great video until she ruined it at the end by saying that there is plenty of evidence to suggest faith can help people deal with illness, firstly what is this evidence? and secondly by saying that she endorsing the notion that in some cases faith works. it's that belief in belief thing again.

  • Oh no, poor illiterate africans. The slimeballs are making money on killing them! Give me one of those preachers, and I'll show him a very painful way of dying I have thought of. It involves using blow.torches, pliers, acids, angle grinders and stuff suitable for killing faith-healers, making the screeeeaaaam! ; )

  • @winterstellar Yes well thankfully we have a word for your methods, it's called evil, regardless of the recipient.

Faith healers certainly need to be shown as the frauds they are and put into prison, the only problem is that some people will believe in them even after all the evidence is put in front of them.

  • I cannot express enough the pity I feel for religious people. You are being lied to and it's all made up. PLEASE stop pretending you know all the answers about our existence, you do not.

I would normally blow up in anger and insults because it really does infuriate me that fairy tales like these are still seen as a possible truth, but I guess that's not the way to try to convince people of something. So please, I beg, stop acting like idiots and stop making yourselves targets of mockery.

  • Crazy ass churches like this should only be allowed to say this, if, after the healing (and without blood test confirmation) the healer has to transfuse blood from the person who is sick. If they think it works, they shouldn't be afraid of anything.

  • oh ffs....why do we still let idiot christians from africa into this country......kids being killed because there possesed, this shit etc

Oh and idiot muslims that believe just as crazy batshit ideas.

Time to ban religous morons from entering the UK, we have enough home grown retards as it is.

  • I'm okay with "individual" faith but this is church(s) promoting this horrendous and dangerous lie. It's ridiculous and I'm pissed. >:(

  • Make religion illegal now.

  • "bad advice, foolish advice, tragic advice" doesn't even say it. I think we need a new word to express just how bad it is. "faith is being abused" faith IS abuse. There is no use for faith and it does nothing but harm.

  • in africans in africa some think that if they rape a woman or eat a heart of a man that woulkd cure AIDS too. His story kind of reminds me of that.

  • What is it with these faith healing retards jumping around like children??? Oh wait, I think the answer's in the question.

  • Wonder if this fucking church can be held accountable for Murder charges? Doubtful but how is this any different then placing a gun in someones hand and say go ahead pull the trigger i have faith there is no bullet in it!!!!!!!!! You are some sick fucks indeed!!!!

  • @NragedXX Once one of their victims dies, these bastards will just say "oh it was the will of god" absolving themselves of all responsibility, while their leader Pastor TB Joshua (who has been described as Nigeria's most highly paid evangelists) goes and buys himself a newer model of Mercedes on the proceeds of this deception. These guys are totally amoral, greedy and criminal.

  • i have contacted a famous youtuber and the hiv/aids day movement about this church. i hope they do something.....i also sent the church some hate mail....

  • around six people died because they stopped taking their meds, thinking they were cured

  • @LAnonHubbard : You really dont have to insult me, i am simply telling you that i have witnessed Jesus healing people from all sorts of disease and illnesses including H.I.V . Aids, and cancer. I am simply telling you what i have seen. Whether you like to believe it or not, Jesus remains what he is a HEALER. Have a good day and God bless.

  • @kaburugi You are either lying, deluded or decieved. It is interesting that there have been no verified cases of people being healed from HIV & AIDS.. why might that be? I knew someone who claimed to have been healed of AIDS by god.. she just turned out to have Narcissistic Personality disorder and schizophrenia.

  • @kaburugi Oh dear, you are another religious crackpot making wild claims and not backing it up with any kind of evidence.. Shame on you and your manipulative mind control.

  • @kaburugi People have actually died & been infected because of these lies. If there is a hell, YOU deserve to go there for supporting this deception.

  • Say what you like i have seen God heal, H.I.V, cancer and all sorts. through Jesus Christ. The Devil can use the media to tarnish the name of Jesus, lets who wins. JESUS.

  • @kaburugi "Say what you like i have seen God heal, H.I.V, cancer and all sorts."

You're talking out of your arse.

  • I like the "sued into the poor house idea" , It's amazing the atrocities these guys have committed to avoid getting real jobs.

  • these people seriously deserve to die....

  • "anything you ask, in my name, believing, you will receive".

  • If God is going to heal you why would he let you get aids to begin with?

  • @brianhar100 If god made everything then did god make AIDS? I suppose the devil made AIDS and god just let him... religious belief systems are just so dumb!

  • @uncleboring Yep

  • can they be sued for it?

  • @Evaporator134a I am not sure look at the catholic church it took years to just take them to court and now they just get charged 1000 dollars and the priest still have access to children ,watch the documentary Sex crimes in the Vatican and deliver us from evil.

  • THESE PEOPLE NEED THE FUCKING DEATH PENALTY!

  • @ReignbowSmite Not a problem :0)

  • @RetrogradeHydra Strange how they need the medical profession to validate the illness but they are not too keen on the medical profession validating their successful cures

  • @MrJohnnyrace There is a certain irony that this tax exempt organisation is saving tax payers money by getting its congregation to not use the NHS

  • @ReignbowSmite Someone on here said that it is kind of proving natural selection with those more predisposed to swallow this kind of crap removing themselves from the genepool

  • the interviewer at the beginning was cute until she opened her mouth.

  • "there are no atheists in foxholes"? "There are no theists in hostpitals".

Except these ones. At least, they're consistent with their beliefs.

Stupid to the point of refusing proper medical care? Prefer to receive "God's grace" instead?

    Fine, let them die!

It's natural selection at work. They're unfit to live, way too dumb. At least they won't breed and hopefully they'll clean up the gene pool.

"They might pass it on"? Sorry I'm not stupid enough to have sex with a lunatic fundie

    Fuck'em.

  • @Knr911 I must say that I totally disagree with you. I would rather educate these people who are fooled. And jail the people who fooled them. You know lot of Atheists do come from religious backgrounds.

  • @Nakkikassi Yeah in fact I willingly exaggerated my thoughts in the purpose of being schocking because I was pissed off. And yes you may be right. I wrote this out of anger. I should have waited a bit before saying this. I acknowledge things are not so simple. This was silly, but please take it as a cynical commentary rather than a genuine proposal. I do not, of course, advocate social darwinism.

  • @Knr911

But if parents make these decisions for their sick children, who are too young to make a choice????

  • wow, we are in the years 2000+ , people still believe in magic. magic does not exit, never had, never will. people are just crazy in the head.

  • They should be charged with attempted murder, the whole lot of them.

  • @kavabond1

HIV sufferers don't "live sick" HIV does not have symptoms other than a suppressed immune system, it doesn't leave you in pain, it doesn't leave you in anyway ill or feeling sick, that happens when the viral load reaches high levels and you can no longer fight off other infections, that is what kills people with the virus. When you manage the virus you can live a mostly normal and productive life.

Should we stop treating ALL other chronic conditions too?

  • @kavabond1 There is no cure for HIV, there are treatments that severely delay its progression into AIDS, and yes it can be a good life. Being sick is no reason to start believing in faith healing, it's false hope with severe negative consequences as outlined in this video. At best all faith healing can do is have a placebo affect. Much better to put your hopes into something with proven benefits iemedicine. Btw words in capital letters with multiple punctuation only make you look stupid.

  • @kavabond1 There's no cure for diabetes either. Would you also suggest that diabetics stop taking insulin?

  • In many countries, this type of faith healing is illegal. It's called "practicing medicine without a licence". The only way arround it is to say you are providing "spiritual healing" where you "heal" the person's soul. If you say you heal their body (and you don't), you get $5000 fine and a 5 year jail sentence per offense (so professional faith healers could be spending the next few centuries in prison if they are convicted).

  • I know it sounds horrible but this is of survival of the fittest&smartest in action. Stupid people do stupid things and as a result are less successful in life(like ignoring your doctors advice).

Its ironic how these people will tell you that they dont believe in evolution and then turn around and demonstrate one of its key tenants to you.

  • @PowerOfTheMirror The problem is that these "stupid people" keep voting the wrong people/laws into place and as result make life worse for the rest of us.

  • Think of the savings for the NHS.

    I like. hallelujah

  • Q: Can God cure me?

    A: YES!

Q: Why doesn't God help children in Africa?

    A: Free will.

Q: You don't see the contradiction?

    A: ...

  • @kavabond1 Yeah, MAGIC will fix it all!!!

Are you seriously making that argument? Let's see, 2 options:

    1. Live a very short, very crappy existence because you refused medication

    2. Live a much longer, slightly less crappy existence (depending on your response to the meds) AND spend the maximum possible time with your loved ones.

GEE I WONDER WHICH OPTION IS THE BEST ONE.

  • God can kiss my ass.

  • These criminals should be arrested and punished. Not just for fraud, but also for grievous bodily harm and/or attempted manslaughter.

  • @62netty the religious peoples stupidity has to be considered, dumb people are dumb because they make stupid decisions and are genetically conformist who will believe everything they are told by authority, those individuals are complete morons. Im against them being charged for man slaughter because that would have to be universal meaning anyone can be sued for giving bad advice. people always give bad advice thats why we think morons like religoustards don't

  • @paulchartley G'day...Well, here in Oz they'd be prosecuted. For Praticing Medicine (giving out Oncology & Immunology Advice, while selling Potions & Lotions) without a Licence; and, the Coprorate Affairs Commission would charge them with Fraud, & Unsubstantiated Claims. In USA they'd be appointed as Presidential Advisors, though ! Maybe put in charge of Medicare, or Education; if the State Dep't didn't put them in charge of Foreign Policy !

  • There's always been some of this around, but what scares me is the *scale* of it today.

  • @eumenidis well it could get worst if we don't call people out on thiey'r bullshit.

  • @Tethloach1 No argument. In fact, I'm not sure it hasn't gotten as bad as it has because we as a society haven't been calling them out enough the last 30-40 years.

  • @eumenidis

And it is interesting that in the times when we have extended the average lifetime by almost 100% in the last 80 years, with the advances in medicine, surgery and treatments, that this is the time when people are turning to all the looney fringe remedies which never worked in the past.

I think the problem is, people don't know the history of disease, where if you had an infection, cancer, or needed surgery there was a very high certainty that you'd die.

  • @Wordavee1 Isn't it just? What kills me is that, according to a science writer (whose name escapes me at the moment), it's relatively affluent, college-educated people who're most likely to buy into the crackpot ideas--working & lower middle-class people with modest educations generally don't. Affluent people, it seems, tend to have exaggerated ideas of their ability to judge the validity of medical practices, even when they have little education in the subject.

  • There is evidence that people died because of them. Surely that should be enough to shut down the church and have these people prosecuted.......

  • @MrSoprano0125 Its sad that people should end up dead before anyone would even consider shutting these arseholes down and locking them up or kicking them out of the country.

  • Comment removed

  • Two things I have no tolerance for- religion and bullshit. Oh wait, I guess that is really just the same...

    Peace and truth.

  • Can't they be charged with impersonating a doctor?

  • @SiriusMined Unfortunately I don't think they can.

They will have some get out clause where it is the patients responsibility to check with a medical professional that they are cured.

The most they will get them for is the claims that the magic water is magic

  • Somebody shoud kick these assholes in the mouth

  • @Vogter616 They need more than that.

Mouth injuries are apparently quite easily cured with their magic water spray

  • It would appear that the only thing these people can't cure, is stupid. That and crudulity.

  • @Satanos777 They appear to be a major purveyor of both of those

  • sick fucks belong in jail

  • I wonder how many of the faith "healers" would be willing to get a blood transfusion from those they "cured"?

Let's see how much faith they really have.

  • @NemoUtopian Now that would need more faith than any of them possess.

  • If you could pray to God to be healed of any illness, then why isn't it like that for leprosy? There is an entire ritual for that that must be done by humans, and I don't have to tell anyone that its abhorrent and doesn't work.

  • @CompleteRationality Well at least medical science has progressed.

a cure for leprosy used to include ground up ash from a burnt bird but now it just involves magic anointing water in a handy spray bottle and shouting at the devil

  • sigh....faith healers....they know people will cling to any ridiculousness when they are desperate and sad....i guess belief functions as a placebo for a while, but it wont last.

  • @isisdron Unfortunately these guys have moved on from just curing the lame and the partially sighted to claiming to cure contagious terminal illnesses.

This is what happens when they extrapolate their own bullshit to the logical conclusion

  • This sort of thing is sick, and is part of the reason why I left the Evangelical church.

  • @EvoGenVideos I find it fascinating what these folks get up to and the tales that they spin that are just eaten up by the followers.

Tales of magic and raising the dead and all sorts of miraculous bullshit that would be dismissed as utter crap if the name Jesus wasn't involved.

  • A reference to the location of the church would have been more useful than the usual obligatory nod to faith at the end. Latitude and longitude please.

  • @PifflePrattle They are in London and Manchester as well as various other cities in the UK and Europe.

I am not sure they have a church building but rather meet an a rented hall.

  • one word comes to mind, REPULSIVE

  • THIS IS IN THE UK? Crazy christians have crossed the atlantic now?

That's it, I'm moving to France.

  • @soundslave Won't help, the crazies are everywhere.

  • @soundslave There is NO ESCAPE... you will be assimilated... Ồ_Ố

  • @soundslave THe crazies have always been here.

They are more noticeable here in the UK because more of the general population are relatively sane.

    :0)

  • Idiots trusting idiots. I think the SAS should deal with them they are robbing the mentally unstable and sick.

  • If he's infected his partner then he can be held accountable. The law would ask him why he didn't wait for a clear blood test before having unprotected sex.

He can't walk, wont take his meds, and wont follow sound advice.

    What a dickhead.

Only one person has been cured of HIV and it was science that made that happen, not a bunch of hysterical fucktards talking to themselves as they postulate on the invisible skydaddy's alleged ability to heal.

    IDIOTS!

  • @Lawlessuk I think the guy cured of HIV had a particular strain of HIV that is suspected to be quite week and was being investigated due to scientists suspecting that certain African prostitutes can be immune to this strain.

The case was notable not just because he recovered but because it shows that the virus is weakening and so may not be fatal in the future.

That said, the guy in the report is a dickhead for not getting a medical to be sure he is cured

  • This is why I worry about so-called faith healing. The idea that a bunch of self-appointed holy people working on the behalf of Jella Cé Yaweh (my little pet name for God. Say it quick to see what it sounds like) & Jesus to allegedly cure the desperate of hard-to-cure illnesses like aids & cancer is laughable on its own; but then telling them to not worry about seeing doctors & to stop there current treatment? This is absolutely atrocious!

Keep up the good work Paul!

  • @wowserhatter At the end of the day we ask these people who they trust more. Science or their holy book.

I guess we shouldn't be too surprised when they pick their book of fables and die because of it.

It is when they take others down with them that it becomes a real tragedy

  • As bad as this Church and others like it are. (make no mistake, I wouldn't piss on them if they were on fire)

There's people out there denying the existence of HIV. Several channels on youtube dedicated to it.

So low they're swimming around in the same sludge. But, I'm placing the deniers at a slightly greater depth.

  • she does choose her words carefully:

"if it's god's plan for you to be healed, you will be healed" guess what, no god=no plan

"once you are cured you won't need the meds" guess what, you'll never be cured.

  • @eyallev WEll you don't need a cure when you are dead.

Maybe this is what they are talking about when they say they are bringing people to Jesus.

    One coffin at a time

  • This "church" has created a significant threat to public health in telling believers they've been "healed" by god and no longer need their meds. As cited in this news report, one fellow has already infected his partner w/HIV, believing himself "healed".

SKY news needs to forward this documentation to the authorities ASAP and the public must demand action now! These damned charlatans are putting UK citizens at risk of DEATH with this "healing" chicanery!

    ~Enraged Nurse~

  • @KCKatheist Yep, they need to be shut down right now for the good of public health

  • @paulchartley

    0:32 and forth, curiously this lady seem to do with her body language the opposite of what she says;

especially at 0:52 when she says "perfectly happy" she makes a head gesture of denial

    (I don't claim to be a specialist in the field, but i do know these things as i'm a son of a practicing psychologist and it is interesting to me;

BTW it's a fact that humans can lie easily in a spoken word, but lying through body language requires years of training (or nat. "talent"))

  • @SEThatered Yes and her body language at the end betrays the fact that she knows that she is utterly fucked!

  • God can cure HIV but needs donations, just can't handle money. Maybe he needs money for research into regrowing the limbs of amputees. Good luck with that one god me old mucker.

  • @pilgrimpater Maybe amputee's don't deserve their limbs which is why god caused them to have them amputated

    :0)

  • why stop here? try homeopathy for anything god can't cure!

  • @burlapshire According to the press statement they gave to Sky News, god CAN cure everything, he just chooses not to, apparently

  • "Well now I can't walk anymore, but the Priest told me I was healed! So I must be fine!" ....Holy shit! What the FUCK is wrong with your fucking mind!!?

  • @ubersteigen He is overdosed on Jesus.

I must admit that I was amazed at his trust in the priest in light of all of the evidence

  • Comment removed

  • i bet if bskyb get bought up by murdoch storys like these will no longer be reported by sky news

  • @zhongjinshu1 That is why I am so glad that the Murdoch buyout didn't happen

  • I'm not sure how it is over there but in the US it's illegal to give medical advice without a license. There are plenty of faith healers over hear as well but most are smart enough not to tell the people to get off of their meds. They make them think that they have been healed so they choose to stop taking the meds on their own accord.

  • @ImACuteGeek I think it is the same here

  • Unbelievable in this day and ages that people can be so evil. You would expect better from religious people but it seems not. The law NEEDS to be changed so that people who make claims like this are charged with man slaughter when their victims die of aids or other terminal illnesses.

  • @uncleboring The thing is that although to the rest of us, what they are doing is evil and just plain wrong, they don't see it that way and think they are helping others.

They just don't see how much harm they are doing and when things get tragic they see it as gods will and not their own negligence or their fault

  • @paulchartley The believers work this way. When their belief prevents them from thinking, they can absolve all responsibility by saying it's god's will (a bit like the WW2 Nazi's saying they were just following orders"). The head guy, Pastor TB Joshua (described as the highest paid preacher in Nigeria) is definitely an amoral money grabbing charlatan. He just gets his "believers" to do his work for him & collect the money! It is nothing that a crossbow bolt through the neck wouldn't sort out!

  • I drink anointed water, it is called beer!!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Hey! That would work in USA! The theocracy can kill off all the surplus population, and the medical insurance companies will NEVER have to pay out! What a great idea? Isn't this practicing medicine without a license? Don't you Brits have any laws against that? I realize we uhmurikunz is not near as advanced and sophisticated as y'all, and y'all got that damn, pinko socialist health care, but still....

  • @rriverstone1 There is every possibility that these guys could get done for fraud

  • @paulchartley it would make a very interest test case!!

  • "There is plenty of evidence that faith can cure illness" is a complete lie.

  • @roboticsynapse It said "deal with illness". That would mean the psychological benefits of being a deluded fool.

  • @roboticsynapse In all honesty I think they were referring to dealing with coming to terms with illness rather than actually curing it.

Then again Sky news is the British half cousin of Fox News

  • This is very troubling and disturbing. The church should be required to provide negative HIV tests for those "healed" otherwise they should be not allowed to claim a "cure"

  • @SisterSunshineTV They have a page full of testimonies from people saying that they have been cured of all sorts of things including HIV and Cancer

  • "Oh no, not me personally, Jesus is the healer!" Yeah, "Jesus" the name you people shout out when you lay your hands on those HIV patients whome you've told you can cure. You can't weasle out of this, bitch.

  • @shrikechan " You can't weasle out of this, bitch." Why not? She weasels out of bed in the morning then weasels into the shower. She brushes her weasel hair and weasel teeth. Then weasels into her car and weasels her way to that den of weasels to weasel money from sick people so she can buy weasel food and go on weasel vacations. I'd say she's pretty well practised, wouldn't you?

  • @shrikechan Well they should prosecute Jesus for manslaughter and these fuckers for being accessories

  • How can you do that? That's not fair to these poor people. Not only are you making these people sicker but you are infecting others!

You're supposed to have souls remember...you're not supposed to lie for anything...If you truly believe that it will cure them you have been deluded to a dangerous point. Otherwise you sicken me and I hope you're persecuted.

  • i just saw this on sky news.

  • if a person knowingly infects someone with AIDS and they are charged with murder or manslaughter, these people should as well!

  • Maybe they need a little more BAM BAM BAM! (/watch?v=eCIXz3yIa7E)

  • @Paxmax I love the clip of the woman that all but has an orgasm when he does the bam bam bam thing

  • The sudden shift in willingness to talk once the camera was revealed is very telling about just how much she believed the BS she was spouting.

  • @mrsanity Would have been better if the news crew had an ipad to show her the playback of her saying what she denied saying.

  • @mrsanity Yes you would think that she would be overjoyed at the chance to tell everyone about Jesus

  • This type of thing makes me so angry. Its like when people refuse vital medical treatment for their children because they say its god's will if their children live or die. God does not cure illness. He doesn't even exist. This is only one of the reasons why religion makes me angry. I have so many reasons I couldn't possibly list them all here.

  • @8698gil Personally I think that if they want to kill themselves by giving up their medication then let them but it is when they infect others because they think that they are cured that I get annoyed

  • Has anyone ever had a amputation healed by these so called healers??? Someone show me before and after pictures of a limb regrowing and maybe we can get somewhere. Really there is no place in this modern world for such bullshit.

  • @andysim232 If we had proof then we wouldn't need faith

    :0)

  • Comment removed

  • Obviously, these people want to see everyone with HIV die - in accordance with "God's Plan."

These christians are EVIL. They're murderers.

  • @dan91709 Well one billion catholics can not be wrong - that an ex nazi who covered up child abuse knows what he is talking about when it comes to medical issues.

    Oops, wrong church

  • @paulchartley Ooops! LOL

Well, they're all christians, so not too far off. :-)

  • Just sent them a mail telling them how I feel about people like them....Very angry at the moment!!

  • This seems pretty simple to me--these churches either proove their claims opr are arrested and jailed for fraud.

  • @hatemorethanyou999 Old people would have nothing to do and nowhere to go on Sunday if that happened

  • For those who don't know. HIV treatment is VERY effective, to the point that most people who acquire HIV who detect it early and consistently use the treatment will never go on to develop AIDS (likely living otherwise healthy, productive lives and going on to die of natural causes).

For someone to say "stop taking HIV treatment" is essentially the same as telling them to kill themselves and the law should treat it accordingly.

Not to mention those who may have infected other people.

  • @Wolfau5 I have friends who do research work at the cutting edge of HIV research.

You are quite correct in that if caught early a patients life can be prolonged for quite some time with the correct medication.

If they stop taking that medication then they go down hill very fast once the virus takes hold and turns into full blown AIDS

  • These people should be sent to jail for providing unsubstantiated cures and unlicenced medical advice. The proof is in the video.

  • When the woman put her hand over the camera, I suddenly had a fantasy of crushing that hand with a hammer and then telling the bitch to ask Jesus for a cure.

  • @WildwoodClaire1 "Physician heal thy self" you could say

    :0)

  • And they say Religion doesn't kill anymore.

  • @j9dz2sf Religions are all obsessed with death.

...and anything that might make your life pleasurable.

You should be miserable and thankful for it

  • Some folks should just be drowned in a septic tank. The only problem is it would probably cause difficulties with a perfectly nice septic tank.

  • Send them an amputee and see if they claim Jesus can cure that.

  • @BohemianBlasphemy That would be a test of faith and god doesn't respond to challenges and test of faith

    Its handy that isn't it?

  • look. you want to end churches doing this sort of nonsense it gotta hit them were it hurts. these people dont care about how many they kill with their bad advice. what they do care about is going to prision and loosing mega lawsuits. ecourage victims to sue. find ways to criminalize this sorts of activity where these churches are getting paid to give this kind of advice.

  • @Bigpussycat5 I agree, the more money they pay out in lawsuits the less money they have to spend on doing things like this

  • My blood is boiling.

  • @BlackSabbath86 I know a place where they will squirt you with magic water to cool it down

  • I've always said of faith healers and their ilk, heal an amputee or a severe burn victim first, then I might be inclined to pay attention. Till then, they're all snake oil sales cons.

  • despicable, but I would have liked to see some confirmation of the ending phrase "there is plenty of evidence to suggest faith can help people deal with illness" there is? really?

  • @IVscythia Helping deal with illness isn't the same as being cured. I'd guess they're referring to the placebo effect.

  • @IVscythia yes, there is... its called the Placebo effect, or, if we are being brutally honest... MORONIC STUPIDITY! Apparently if someone believes hard enough that they will get better they will because their body will will react to the chemicals in the brain and yadayadayada, however, it doesnt work with a virus or a disease since they are foreign bodies. Condoms can stop AIDS, but god cant, although the pope doesnt believe that message should be spread and blames Gays instead

  • @Digideus It's not always moronic stupidity. I'd prefer to call it gullibility or desperation if anything. However the placebo effect isn't isolated to theists.

  • @IVscythia I think they are talking about helping people come to terms with their illness rather than actually do any good in curing it.

It does actually appear to be quite easy to rationalise having a fatal disease that will give you a long and lingering painful death if you think that your chosen deity inflicted you with it as a sort of personal invite to his eternal disco in the sky

  • @paulchartley yea, that's probbably it

  • Absolutly disgusting!
