Islam means submittion to Allah! Regardless of the vastly different opinions of men, the term Islam is a verb describing a behaviour not necessarily a specific belief. So yes if a 5%er is submitting to Allah living right he is muslim. Same for Jews Christians Buddhist etc. Your religion is just your ritual and if it helps your actions lean toward righteousness then good.
